I have the latest DCS world and A-10C game. I believe its version 1.23. I also just got Track IR 5 and using drivers 5.22 on Windows 8. Now in the track IR software looks like its working, but in the game, it seems like when I try to turn left or right and zoom in the track IR skips to the other side.

It does this on the smooth profile as well as default. I need to zoom to see the power buttons and all when starting the aircraft. I tried the training but it seems like it was doing the same thing.

Anyone have any configurations for me to try out. I would love to hook up my x52 pro and have a go but it looks like I'm having issues with TRack IR.

Seems you are sitting too close to the TrackIR camera... or may be you have lamps or reflections from sunlight behind you?

I have this problem occasionally, when the window curtains are not closed correctly in bright daylight. A friend got the problem with a ceiling lamp directly behind him interfering even with the pro Clip :megalol:

IR light is everywhere, it seems...

The flipping also, happens when the Track Clip leaves the field of view of the cam. The cam should be on the top of your monitor and your head 1.5 - 2 x screen width is the optimal head position... also for your eyes, by the way. :music_whistling:

Are you using the hat clip or trackclip pro?

If using the trackclip, make sure you select it and also turn down the ir brightness to zero

I am sitting about 2 feet from the camera. Using a hat clip that came with the device. Its really hard getting to some of the switches on the left by your knees.

Now I closed the shades and turned off the lamp in the room. Usually this is how I was using it in the beginning. I wonder if there are any special settings for the axis I may need to configure.

The camera is on the top center of my monitor. I tried to tilt it to center it perfectly.

Not sure what else I may have missed.

With the hat clip it often happens that I look down a bit too much when centering. Try to look really straight and re-center, maybe even a tiny bit to the screen top. That gives you more angle to look down in the cockpit.

If all this fails try fish's tutorial to setup TrackIR profiles in detail.

I'm quite ok with the default plus a little more movement down...

EDIT: sniped with the vid

Or shift the trackclip a bit backwards on your head so it points a bit more upwarts or point the TrackIR device slightly upwarts. You loose track a bit easier when looking all the way up but looking down then works very good.

Thank you so much for the tutorial. I spent maybe 1hr trying to get my profile like the one in the youtube video. I then started up the game and it did fine..then I realized I could just download the profile from the video Doh!

I wonder if this profile will work on FC2 but I am guessing it should. I didn't install that game yet because I'm thinking of purchasing FC3 just unsure if it is worth it.

Oh and another thing, do you all know if the Jack Bauer saitek x52 profile will conflict this this track IR profile? I'm looking for a decent HOTAS profile for my x52 pro and I have found some simple and half decent ones but I would prefer to have one for track IR suitability. I spent hours just messing in SST and A-10 options that I got very frustrated.

Should do the job fine. I use only one profile for all.

It will depend if there is any conflict between the X52 and the TIR profile regarding key bindings. If not, it will work fine, if yes, change either one of them and you're good again.

Tip: Change the TIR bindings if there is a conflict and then just save that profile and put a copy somewhere as backup. Next time you have to re-install TIR just copy/paste that profile from your backup and you're up in no time.

Careful with the x52 / x52pro profiles they are different and not compatible! x52 is the silver-blue one with blue lights, the x52 pro is black with green lights.

I'm not sure JackBauer did a x52pro profile, too. The original is for the x52.

Look at the wiki for a collection of profiles: http://en.wiki.eagle.ru/wiki/Hardware_Profiles

or search the DCS "User files" page for device profiles: http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/?arrFilter_pf[aircraft]=&arrFilter_pf[filetype]=70&arrFilter_pf[gameversion]=&arrFilter_pf[filelang]=&arrFilter_CREATED_USER_NAME=&set_filter=Filter&set_filter=Y

Thanks for that info about snap views too. Looks like the profile for the x52 will not mess with track IR but I have a back up saved.

Looking at that wiki page, and then checking out the JackBauerx52 track IR profile, I saw on page 2 or 3 of that thread that someone did convert that profile to the x52 pro. I'm going to load it up and see. If not, I'll have to settle with another one.

So glad all these resources are available here.

Actually, I myself don't use snapviews (or custom snapviews) because I have touch screen + Helios (= all panels easily available). But just wanted to let you know. :)
