quaros Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 hello, i wolld like buy dcs a10c warthog, but i want to know if it is really a realistic simulator. I currently use x-plane 8, and i want to know if dcs a10c warthog is at its level. i want to try this simulator: it is a game or a simulator?
Fjordmonkey Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 It is very much a hardcore sim. Expect to read a LOT of manuals. Regards Fjordmonkey Clustermunitions is just another way of saying that you don't like someone. I used to like people, then people ruined that for me.
cichlidfan Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 There are more realistic military aircraft sims out there. Unfortunately, you will need to join the air force to gain access to them. 1 ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Extreme 8GB, Corsair HX1000i, Phillips BDM4065UC 40" 4k monitor, VX2258 TouchScreen, TIR 5 w/ProClip, TM Warthog, VKB Gladiator Pro, Saitek X56, et. al., MFG Crosswind Pedals #1199, VolairSim Pit, Rift CV1
CZ_BPK Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 DCS A-10C I haven't got much experience with other flight simulators/games, but i would call DCS A-10C a simulator with a game attached to it. I have never experienced such a high level of realism in any game. The stuff to learn is enormous, startup, shutdown, takeoff, landing, use of different types of weapons etc. The manual itself is 671 pages. Have flown the A-10C for about half a year now, still have tons of stuff to learn and still find it very entertaining. I would say that if you like flight simulation and gaming, this simulator/game is worth every penny.

IonicRipper Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 From the manual: The Fighter Collection / Eagle Dynamics has been developing a high-fidelity Desk Top Simulation (DTS) of the A-10C for the U.S. Air National Guard for the past several years, giving us a tremendous access to A-10C information. We were fortunate enough to work out an agreement with our client to release an entertainment version of this simulation. i5 4590 @ 3.77GHz | GTX 1060 6GB | 16GB 1600MHz DDR3 | 1TB HDD+500GB HDD | Win10 Home X64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
luza Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I doubt you'll find a more authentic simulator, than DCS a10c or KA50... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
rob10 Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I would think xplane is likely at a level at somewhat similar to FSX. If that's the case A-10 is so far beyond the basic level of realism in FSX; there is no comparison. A-10 is at a level more like a complex airliner payware add-on for FSX.

Konrad Friedrich Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 (edited) To put it in a nutshell: Buy it. Even if you're not interested in the military part of the simulation. Although there is currently only the Caucasus map. You will not regret it. Just (virtually) flying the DCS A-10C, K-50 or P-51D is a great, great pleasure. :pilotfly: Edited March 8, 2013 by Konrad Friedrich
