A little problem that really annoys me...

Well, hi all. I just got LOMAC 1.11 and it's great. The Su-25T is amazing to fly...

 

But there is a problem.

 

*Background*

A friend of mine was able to go on a student exchange program (nerd! :P) to Russia. Well, I asked him if he can buy a copy of LOMAC. I played the demo of 1.1 and it was fantastic. So, there, he bought it. I paid him, and happily I went back home. When I installed the game, it was all in Russian. But that was okay, because it should give you a language selector in the settings... well, in the settings, there are no language setting.

 

*Problem*

I can't read Russian. So, all these settings are kind of meaningless to me. Cross-referencing seems to be dumb, because my slow computer takes a long time to load up the games.

 

*Question*

How do I convert the game in English? Now, I don't want any "OMGZ0RS BUY TEH GAME ONLINE LOLOLOLOLZZZZzzz." I don't want to buy the thing twice when there could be a solution.

The question is what made you think "LOLZOR Im really clever Im going to buy teh russzor version for cheapo!" without doing any research about why do they sell two versions of the game :)

Try to look at [LockOn folder name]\FUI\RussianVersion\*.cfg. If you can read in Russian (I hope) - you will get translations for all words wich could be met in the Mission Editor. You can just substitute all words in "" to what you want.

Also there is the problem with [LockOn folder name]\ME\MEInit.xml and [LockOn folder name]\ME\MECustom.xml as both are in Russian.

May be just to send to you English versions of files I mentioned? There are any problems with copy protection so it is possible.

Would downloading the english version of 1.11 work? I used the russian one because I feared it may mess up my install (takes quite some time to install too...).

Try to use english version of 1.11. Your CD will stay with you in the case of any problems... I am affraid that it may not help with menu options translation. ;)

This summer i was im Moskou, and i bought The russian version of FC just for

fun (200 roebbels i think it was).

It is of course in Russian, but that was important to me because i like to know some Russian words and how it is written in Cyrilic!

 

But i also have the English download version.

Try to use english version of 1.11. Your CD will stay with you in the case of any problems... I am affraid that it may not help with menu options translation. ;)

Unfortunately, Starforce rejects my key for the english version of 1.11. When I install the russian 1.11, it works again - only in russian.

 

I replaced my UserInterface.cfg with the english version - it works to an extent. A lot of things weren't translated. Then, I looked into other files - and I found they can all be translated at the expense of uber amount of time.

 

Are there english versions of these files? (example of them will be action.cfg, nettext.cfg, common.cfg)

Buckler. Just put the russian version on the shelve and go buy English version. Yes, you wasted a few bucks, but you can easily recover the "loses" if you skip a lunch or two (plus it will be good for your health :) )
