Deadman Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 (edited) Possibly you don't know that Frank makes and sell flight simulators F-16 as a business he offers different fidelity of system . He all ready has laser engravers and cnc machines and 15 years of making F-16 panels so in fact he is a big boy no hating going on here but i do expect people to be up front about who they are IE a professional come in to the form to sell items not a fellow simmer making things on the side.;) Haters will hate, Because you're looking to undersell them, people will always look to bully the small people. good luck buddy. Flim Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 I guess my question is how cheap is cheap?... The plastic is pretty low cost, but time, painting, engraving, cost of switches ...adds up quickly. I glad someone is taking on the task though.
frank Posted April 30, 2013 Author Posted April 30, 2013 IFF and EFC - DONE :) http://www.dcscockpit.com

Your right - a switch is easy 8 GBP - a Dual Encoder is 15 GBP - the mashine are running alot of hours to build.... Edited April 30, 2013 by frank http://www.dcscockpit.com

Thank you Metalnwood for the links. I know that this place is THE place for those who want to start building panels or an entire pit. I've been following this board since I joined this forum (and even before :smilewink:) and I come nearly every day if not each days :music_whistling:. I tried myself at panel building last year (AHCP and Electrical power panel, without backlighting) and they work fine (interfaced with a GPWIZ 40) @ Franck : Really nice work, as always. Laurius Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 You little trickester, you dont need any help lol :) :D Thanks for the compliment ! I probably will when I decide to go further. I don't know when this happens but for the time being, I don't have very much time and I prefer flying with my squadron mates allthough I really enjoyed building my panels and search infos to this goal. agrasyuk Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 "haters", " jealousy", "f*** those criticizing" whats going on here? is this pit building forum? since when pointing out flaws in presented product is a taboo? we all have a different vision and quality requirement for our sim setup. I've yet to see beginner being laughed at here due to less then perfect product. there is always room for improvement, since Frank is a pro builder he can be held to higher standards . i love the indicator housings, i'm somewhat indifferent to exact font (looks close enough) , i absolutely hate the knobs. Frank, a pro sim builder getting on board to produce hardware for simming is excellent news. no one here offers anything like this on constant basis. about time somebody took on this task. especially with a complete kit . whatever your exact motivation for it is completely not important - work demands compensation and there is nothing wrong in running a for profit business whatever the noble cause might be. whatever shortcuts and corner cutting you apply to your product to keep within in scope is fully your choice. you even don't have to be open for feedback. i only have problem with this one thing below: Sorry to say - but tools, technic and materials i keep to my self - spend hundred of hours finding the right materials and technic... really? we spend hours (well less for me lately due to household stuff) discussing exactly that, materials, techniques, suppliers, machinery and so on. many offer their fruit of work for others to use. what makes your line even more puzzling is that its not like its even a big trade secret you were trying to protect .. so why such a tirade for a curiousity question if just by looking at your product one can tell all these items at least approximately) . ? this is so not the spirit of this board. 2 Anton. frank Posted May 2, 2013 Author Posted May 2, 2013 (edited) JULY 2013 - my best guess You can use - and my advice - GADROC EOS interface togther with he's HELIOS or - Phidgets also with HELIOS - but with Phidgets version we need a "little" update from Gadroc for full function - or just use any joystick for BTN and AXIS price - the CDU right now i think it ends up around 690 USD - plug'n'play The pic is CDU BACK Edited May 2, 2013 by frank http://www.dcscockpit.com
