MonsterZero Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Just flew my first Su-25T mission in the "Georgia Oil War" stock campaign and I was overwhelmed by the number of targets on the ground. I didn't know which way to turn. When I was telling my computer to lock onto something it would lock all over the place, including targets behind me, at my 3 o'clock and so on. I was so distracted they shot me down quite easily. Can anybody recommend a methodical approach to this madness, especially joystick configuration? I have Saitek X52... 71st_Mastiff Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 you need to look at the flight planer and plane your attack, ingress and egress, prioritize targets those that are a greater threat to you and your SU25t survivability.. Paganus Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 The "Diamond" target indicator is often on friendly units in that campaign. Look at the mission brief. You follow the coast down and then attack the enemy in the valley that runs from the coast to the East.

seikdel Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 I find the GOW campaign to be pretty darned difficult in the Toad. Have you hopped online yet? If not, jump into the 104th's air-to-ground server and try one of their missions. They have smaller distinct target groups, and you can collaborate with other pilots, which makes a huge difference. You'll learn fastest when you're flying with other humans instead of AI =) P.S. And don't forget teamspeak!
MonsterZero Posted April 12, 2013 Author Posted April 12, 2013 I have TeamSpeak but please remind me how to use it in this game in multiplayer. Where are those addresses posted? Kameni Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Usually on squad web sites, respectively, or (some sites are down at the moment) in the mission briefing when you click on server in list.
Hawk_5 Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 I found the GOW campaign to be a good education on using the SU25T. You must be patient and plan your attacks as already stated above. Rush in too quickly and you WILL be shot down. The way points shown in the planner are just the straight get in and get out path to target and a lot of the time are a fast track to getting shot down. Look at the objective and enemy positions and plan alternative routes. If you get a good method going in that campaign it will also serve you well online. Troutish Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 I'm having difficulty as well. Have your wingman loiter in a safe area until some of the threats are eliminated (otherwise he will just get shot down). If you let him take out a AD target, call him back as soon as he fires or he will loiter (and get shot down) make your runs on the target and then pull back right away with countermeasures popin'. take your time, and gradually you will have a better sense of the environment and where the threats are, and you will have taken some out too. dont forget you can land and re-arm/ repair I dont know how anyone could play that mission with labels off.....
