I did a clean install of Aries in DCSW OB but the problem persists .

Although off the lua , the panel Aries appears at the start of the flight .

I installed the latest version of Aries on TeamSpeak .17 .

To disable Aries must manually change the file export .

I have done a thousand tests but for now remains the only way .

Sorry for my English

If the function out of the plugins menu does not work, you probably have a corrupt installation. You can solve the problem manually:

Open the registry and go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AriesWings

If you do not find AriesWings at the given location use:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\AriesWings

You will see two keys:

DCSWorldPathOB and DCSsavedGamesOB

DCSWorldPathOB should have a full path to your Open Beta installation it looks normally like this:

C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta

If the entry is empty or points not to your Open Beta installation then enter the correct path here.

DCSsavedGamesOB should have a full path to your Open Beta saved games location it looks normally like this:

C:\Users\[your username]\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta

If the entry is empty or points not to your Open Beta saved games then enter the correct path here.

Let me know if you could solve your problem…

Hi

Is still your ATC software in developpement ?

We just start to test it and i hope to see ATC software very soon.

In general way, good job for your soft ! Even if often we encounter crash with ATC radio box.

I can confirm, that it is still in development but not perfect. The installation and login procedure seems to be too complicated. As soon as we get a positive feedback from the beta testers we will publish a first version. If you like, you can get a first impression with:

FYI

http://forum.teamspeak.com/showthread.php/120755

We have just released a very important security update for the TeamSpeak 3 Client addressing a RFI (Remote File Inclusion) vulnerability. Please upgrade your desktop clients to version 3.0.18.1 immediately. The update is available for Windows, Linux and OS X. Mobile clients for Android and iOS are not affected by this issue.

You can use the auto-update feature to grab this new release. If you need an installer, please refer to our Downloads page.

I hope Aries will switch to HKEY_LOCAL_USER (as HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE forces to start as admin) soon...

I already use TeamSpeak 3.0.18.1 without any problem. Even the older versions, including Aries 1.976 are working without problems. The migration to HKEY_LOCAL_USER will come with version 2.0 and is already under development.

Thanks for the tip

Hi,

Reinstalled ARIES recently and looks like the fix that was made for gossip box configurator isnt still part of the build that's downloadable on your website ? I had to come back on this forum and download it again to fix the crash related to the unit position / aerodrome in gossipbox configurator...

@ TOWSIM

That should also include moving all configuration files (Aries.INI) to: ../users//Saved games/Eagle dynamics/DCS World/Aries/

Maybe a single config per Release and Beta version?

The user is not allowed to edit files under c:/program/...yaddayadda per Windows design rules.

Unfortunately putting editable files there requires the user to go through the UAC pain. Not really practical, unless you deactivate when configuring Aries.

Also any way to route the audio through a local loop to test the settings, applying all features as set in the control panel (horizon, distortion etc.) would be a real game changer!

I AM aware the audio might be processed differently on the remote system as some settings are applied in the remote client, but if I could check what the guy needs to set (or what I have to push as gamemaster) would be fantastic and could help reduce the "how do I sound? Do you hear me with engine sound in the background? No you are way too clear in my side, lets try setting XYZ" tremendously.

Worst case a "test audio" file that would play through the settings and filters could be sufficient to judge the quality and sound... ;)

This probably depends on the version you installed. I had a short look to the file package and the repaired configurator is part of the current package. It may be, that the package was not released officially. But the configurator V 1.977 was published as single repair and is available at:

http://www.ariescon.com/GossipBoxConfigurator.zip

@shagrat

You are right, it is a pain to edit any file in the program folder. On the other hand, the INI files are not meant to be modified manually. It is a nightmare if you do configuration support with unknown contents of the INI files. The plans for V2.0 contain a migration of the entire Aries folder from DCS World to Saved Games. So DCS World will be left untouched for the future.Even the Audio Test possibility was already discussed with Snoopy and promised for V 2.0. But only small steps are possible for the moment. I am working on four projects for the moment which keeps me more than busy.

Brilliant. No worries, I just wanted this to be mentioned. Implementation will take some time for sure.

Good to see the concept for Aries gets improved.

It's not necessarily to "edit" the INI manually, but a separate editor window can definitely write stuff, it is easier to back up your settings, etc.

Thanks for the heads up.

Hi towsim,

do you have any information, when the implementation of the L-39 is done for Aries?

And do you plan to add an intercom function for two-seat aircraft in DCS?

Thanks in advance,

I am just working on it. The release depends on how fast I can pass through the DCS variables jungle. The first test version was planned for Monday. But today I found out, that the L-39C software does not support some important functions. So I am working in circumnavigations.

Perfect ! i'll move to the beta then.

Do you encounter some trouble with crash of Teamspeak using your software ? ( especially when starting the mission)

Nope.

I´ve just copied the aries folder from DCSW 1.2 to DCSW OB 1.5 and entering the same line for Aries on the export.lua file.

All runs perfect.

Yes, I can confirm the procedure Esac_mirmidon used.

BTW, I cannot provide support for the next three days because of a short vacation with bacon, cheese and wine…

Make sure, that no other radio communication software is active in DCS World and TeamSpeak.

For DCS World it may be sufficient to disable the 'dofile("...") entry for that software in

$HOME\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\Export.lua.

It is already in the export.lua

More precisely, Teamspeak crash when the mission start.

Be sure in your Teamspeak/settings/pluggins you have the check box checked.
