I´m testing the new version and i´ve detected a few problems with the Mi-8. For the K4 all runs perfect. channels, frequencies and volume inside cockpit has effect in Aries flawlessly. Very happy with it.

 

But the Mi-8 has a few problems.

 

First: In the Main Radio Panel selector the radios only works when the selector is in ICS position, instead of RADIO position. The yellow light for Aries Radio Box only lits in ICS position ( intercomm or internal channel position ) when instead it must be on RADIO position.

 

Second: The manual frequency selector in cockpit, on the center low pedestal, doesn´t work for Aries radio box. Only changing over the Aries Radio Box, the main 863 radio changes frequencies, but not when the dial unit is moved.

 

The Preset mode for the main radio works perfect on every 1 to 20 preset channels.

 

The secondary preset radio works perfect also on every 1 to 10 preset channels ( from 31.00 to 40.00 because i have modified my .ini file and it seems Aries gets the presets from the ka-50 )

Hi guys,

 

Slight issue here. Doing installation of latest version following the instructions, I get TS to crash upon start. That is I only get the administrator permission window and when I click yes TS crashes. I have checked for logs bu none are generated for Aries :(

 

I even tried @Dojo's fix from #731. No joy.

 

Reverting back to 1.973 Beta, TS starts without a glitch :cry:

 

p.s. I have now been installing Aries ver. 1.976 while TS was running and got it to work see next page; http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2372452&postcount=962

Think I found a solution

Did you start the installer through right click "run as administrator" when installing?

Yes I did Shagrat. But thanks for the advice.

 

I did however get version 1.976 to work now by NOT following installtion guide.

 

This time I did the install while TS was running. After installing 1.976, I went to Settings-Plugins in TS. The Aries plugin will still be the old one. Then I pressed Reaload All in lower left corner. Initially TS crashed for me when pressing Reload All, but then afterwards I can start TS normally and radios changes frequencies while in game :thumbup:

OK. Remembered a similar issue with crash where I forgot to install as admin... Strange thing you got there. Nice to see it solved, but wondering if others will get similar issues.

Hope my install tomorrow will work OK. Too late today...

Same problem as HMA. Solved installing 1.976 without uninstall 1.973beta.

 

Only problem is that I have a "DCS stop working" when I quit the misión, but I press "Accept" and DCS Works without problem, even with a mision log.

 

2 bugs in the Mi-8: as Mirmidon reported, ICS/Radio values are reversed and preset frequencies of R-863 seem to be out of range: 14Mhz instead of 140Mhz for example.

 

But I have no problems with manual tuning of the R-863 in the central console.

Update:

If I deactive the Aries plugin in TS/setting/plugins and close TS, I´ve a TS crash when I try to start the TS.

I´ve to reinstall 1.973 to solve it.

Just keeps crashing for me and causing helios to become non responsive tried installing both ways still no joy and this is on a clean install of dcs.

More in deep testing and it seems the 863 manual frequency adjust bug is my fault.

 

On DCS Open Beta works perfect. I think it´s because a mod i have installed to be able to set frequencies for the Mi-8, the UH-1H and the Ka-50 in the mission editor. A feature not usable by default.

 

The only minimal bug is the ICS/RADIO selector. Now it´s reversed.

Any when last days I got a request regarding the TF P51. It seems, that I accidently deleted this message. Therefore I cannot find the originator anymore. But here my answer:

I was not aware, that the TF is that different from the one seater P51. I will have a look to the cockpit radios and its logic. If it is possible, I will add the TF to the list of supported models.

Had the same problem with TeamSpeak 3 Client crashing. narrowed it down to the AriesRadio.dll

As long as you remove it from the PlugIns folder it starts fine, as soon as AriesRadio.dll is in it crashes..,

I'll try now with 1.973beta and not deinstalling before installing 1.976.

Seems Protocol.exe is causing the trouble! I had the same problem with crashing TS3 Client after clean install, so I got back to version 1.973beta and installed 1.976 on top of it. Now TeamSpeak Client would not "open", but when I killed the AriesRadioProtocol.exe process TeamSpeak immediately opened fine...

With only 1.976 installed clean it crashes directly!

However, if the release version shall be installed, take care, that AriesProtocol.exe is deleted from C:\Program Files\AriesWings\PRCL, before you install the release version. The reason is a version detection mismatch caused by the Aries Radar installation.

OK can one of the gunfighters please tell me exactly how to install this? Nothing is working I got it working at first with HMA but after restarting my computer TS just crashes again. Seems weird that the last version worked so good in the last 2 months I had one Aries crash and that was this Wed. I had to uninstall just to use TS again.

 

Oh yeah I reinstalled 1.973 again.
