For the 2.0 problems: It looks like they change the shaders or the textures. I will not be able to access my PC until the end of the week. Can you try the tutorial posted in thread 151 to look where the changes are ?

If only the texture have changed, you will find the news one in the shaderUsage.txt (you must make the dump when using the planes for which you want to fix the HUD). Try to modify in d3dx.ini the texture related for your plane with the ones you find in the shaderUsage.txt.

You can also check if there are some changes between the shaders...

For the 1.5 problems : if they are confirmed, can you check them with the previous version of the mod ? Some shaders can not be dumped, maybe I chosse a register used in them...

on a side note im still trying to figure out what is exactly causing it to crash at times in 3d on my system. I have turned down my draw distance and seems to have helped knock on wood. I wonder if its something with the Vram and too many objects on setting ultra and above. Its normally a driver crash, I do have 2x980 with 4gb vram and not overclocked so hmmm.

Ok update on 1.5 I have ruled out sli as cause of the destroyed vehicle texture flicker and also the smoke from destroyed vehicles turn from black to a light gray and back and forth depending on angle and sun /shadow conditions. So with or without sli I have this problem with 51

Just tried the hunting mode in 2.0 and it won't give me the hud mfd. indication at top. Hit the left and right arrow all the way through all textures and no status change. Awaiting further guidance.

I posted a thread in bug area as a call for support from the devs, maybe we can get some insight on what exactly needs to be fixed in new 2.0. which by the way is amazing with the new dynamic light and shadows.

Indeed, 2.0 looks gorgeous, and fps are improved in my side with latest patch.

But we've never had any support from ED regarding HUD collimation with 3d vision, though. Of course, you are free to try.

 

This is becoming extenuating. Sometimes I'm like forgetting about having proper HUD's until my Oculus Rift arrives. But is so sad to fly with half-functional HUD's.

ya i hear ya look forward to my rift also, i loved dk2 in 1.2 but i moved and left the dk2 in storage havent tried Edge in rift yet but looks very promising for CV1. Anyways back to 3d ya ive been flying dcs world in 3d for years and its always been a struggle, but in my mind nothing can replace that depth and awesome perception you get in flight while in 3d. Well atleast we have 1.5 working until this friday when they update it and i assume the new graphical changes they did in 2.0 last patch will follow...

 

constant struggle but i wouldnt give up i think vr will bring all this 3d stuff back to the must have lists.

yes after dinner i will be back in the pit and the mission i used was ka50 Range its in the mission folder for ka50.

 

well after another test it was all daylight no shadows aka no clouds and their was no problem with smoke or those textures let me get back to that other mission with lots of clouds

I tried the shader hunting thing on the Mi8 and found both shaders for the sight (I did not get the "HUD+MFD message, as Enduro also mentioned). I then searched the shaderusage.txt file for “0015dc5ba3778d8b” and “2b83090b7feaa999” shaders but none were found.

What to do now??

ive no clue either but deep down im hoping the huds are back to way they where in 1.2 and where modded for 3d via lua file. But i honestly have no clue and learning as Lefuneste puts out info thats for sure.

That means that they have changed the shaders numbers. So nothing easy for you now. I will check that as soon as I have time. My idea is to document how to convert the 1.5 fix to 2.0 by renaming shaders files and modifying d3dx.ini, I do not want to maintain 2 version of the fix, too much work.

I will not use anymore the lua method for the HUD.

At first I tried to use it for the 1.5, but it was not working anymore because the HUD was not drawn as far as 10 meters in front of the plane. Seems that they modified the clipping box and I did not find a way to extend it.

Beside that, they always make changes to HUD lua files, so it was a huge work to maintain it.

As there are anyway other things (sun, HDR, horizon, labels, Mig21 HUD, FC3 planes HUD) that can only be fixed with a d3d mod, I do not want to maintain 2 version of fix.

Here is the 6.0 version of the mod.

It includes 2 directories, the "DCS_stereoscopic_3dMigoto_60a" is for the 2.0 alpha version.

I found a new way to fix the HDR effect, so is is no more seen through cockpit frame.

I also add an option for HUD of other planes/helo than A10C, Ka 50, Mig21, HUH1, P51, FW190.

I introduce "depth filtering" : only vertex drawn before or after a specified distance of viewpoint will be shifted.

Settings have be defined for "All planes", Su25T, A10A, F15C, Mig29, Su27/33. They can be cycled using uparrow key. You can modify, add or remove settings for planes. See [Key 3] section of d3dx.ini for more information.

It works well except for Mig29 and SU25T, where the HUD is nearly at the same depth than the MFD/shkval...

Of course, as the distance of the HUD move with your head, you may change the filter if you move your head too close or too far from the HUD.

Ok I'll swap tv wife went out for errands got to do this quick lol

 

Ka50 hiud works in 2.0

 

A10c works great to in 2.0

 

This is awesome buddy he mirage 2000c now works also after hitting up arrow a couple times, but yes if you move head very forward then the radar and pca lights goof up but definitely usable now

Tested in A-10C, Huey, Mi8 and Mig21 and works great after setting the correct y value for me. In the Mi8 this also fixes a small bug that was present where the flare dispenser display was at wrong depth. The problem I had with the previous mod and a-10C (TGP and MAV displays at wrong depth) is also gone now! I only still have some problems with some stuff in the horizon (can´t really see what it is, it just a bit wrong at large distance, always was that way!) and the sun / HDR. With HDR on, when I look at the sun the HDR effect is double. How can I adjust these things?

unfortunately, I did not yet manage to entirely fix the horizon. A variable can be used in order to tune it regarding your settings but it will not be perfect.

What do you mean by "double HDR effect" ?

Do you have 2 HDR drawn or an HDR effect twice the size ?

If it is the fisrt case, could you uninstall the mod, suppress the shader* directory, re install the mod and check ?

If it is the second case, I do not know...

The first one. But the problem is only very strong when the HDR is close to the centre of the screen. The further it is from the centre, the less the "doubling" becomes.

 

If it is the fisrt case, could you uninstall the mod, suppress the shader* directory, re install the mod and check ?

If it is the second case, I do not know...

 

I tried your suggestion but I saw no change. I adjusted separation, convergence (using left arrow key) and y setting (global setting) in the d3dx.ini file (as always). Don´t know whether that´s relevant information in this case.

Well I did'nt notice this effect. It only occures when you look directly at the sun, and with my sep/conv. settings it is just making sun HDR effect larger, the halo is not divided in two parts. So it does not bother me enough to find a new fix...

hello

 

since many updates of DCS WORLD, the 3DVision is no more activated.

 

what's the problem ???? (and of course i set "full screen" in settings.)

 

i use Windows 10 x64 / SLI gtx 980 16gb ram.

 

all my games are working fine in 3Dvision mode except this one.

 

CTRL + T doesn't work. totally unactive...

Warning : mods above are not working anymore with 1.5b. There is a beta version of a 3Dvision mod based on 3DMIGOTO

3DMIGOTO is not accurate enough anymore.
