I wouldnt try to restore from a restore point, as it does NOT backup every file, merely ones that changed before the restore point.

So it wouldnt restore 1.2.5 anyway.

There is no way to downgrade on steam.

You can manage updates by disabling automatic updates, and making a backup of the DCS Folder, then enabling updates, if you needed to roll back, disable updates again, and restore from the backup folder.

I was noting the difference between a system restore, and the restore for files. you can restore individual files, even in the root of the folder you want to restore. based on the documentation referring to deleted files, those could be restored as well, indicating that it could revert back to it's previous state.

so, I'd probably have to disable automatic updating, in order to make sure it doesn't go back to rewrite to 1.2.6.

even if I do the backup method though, at this point it is too late. amazingly, I've never done it for any game, or at least any game I've had that didn't work as it did before an update. developers are usually very good at keeping it stable. don't know what happened, but I am experiencing similar problems as reported in multiple threads, and have some of the logs from that.

Revert to 1.2.5 for 32bit systems

i guess the obvious question is:

Is there going to be any support for 32bit DCSW community?

Havn't herd any answers from authoratative sources?

it would be so nice eh? to get some support

i bought the su-25a module SPECIFICLY because it would be easier on my 32bit system

A few more buttons in the GAME OPTIONS allowing us to switch off the items that produce HEAVY MEMORY LOAD

ie: WingTip Vorticies, Engine Smoke, Landing Smoke, etc.

any answers from the Dev's would be appreciated by the 32bit DCSW community

i wonder what the numbers for 32bit DCSW users are?

money's tight these day's hardware upgrades are expensive

the 32bit DCSW user base needs some support please!

Hello SkateZilla,

Can you tell me where you find the list of possible arguments of DCS_updater.exe ?

Do you know if some argument exists just to print-out the current version installed ?

I tried

DCS_updater.exe show/show-version/print/print-version/version/v/list

and so on with no success...

Many thanks for your help !

It is very disappointing to see that it is so hard to find the current DCS version. No Win registry key dedicated to updates

If I could execute :

{HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World}\bin\DCS_updater.exe some_argument

It could be great.

i cannot help you there,

if you want versions, right click the run.exe in the main DCS folder and goto Details tab and it lists the version.

Yes, if is GPU or power supply is worst that if is DCS problem.

Well I have 2 DTX 680 ,32709 MB Physical memory at3.71 GHZ,348.4 Gigabytes free disk space and still can't run A10C with 126 update.

I install A10C Hard copy(cd) and run ok.

I don't know what going wrong.

I tried all those cmd code and stuff.. reinstalled after a clean install.. many many reboots and stuff..

Well. good news..

I installed DCS_World_1.2.4.11652_168 and FC3_1.2.4.11652_168 and all is well now.

Playing it as I once did, even on this still good, 32bit windows system. As long as I can create my own scenarios/missions and fly around doing aerobatics.. I'm perfectly happy and satisfied. Thankfully now that I managed to get this running again, I don't feel as violated with some loss of money that I had payed for this simulation.

I will surely upgrade my system to a 64bit one, but not by force, like by dropping all help for us who have older 32bit systems and have always supported the development of this Sim, since the days of the original Lock-On and the many versions and add-ons since.

I gotta give special thanks to whom ever was the host to the files I needed on a remote server I just happened to find with Google's help..

Since ED doesn't host those files anymore for us who want to back track to an older version of this Sim.. I have the link to those 6 files you need. PM me for the link!

You have done them well I am sure. (ED)

Do not take the move to 64Bit personally, even Microsoft dropped its support for older ver. of the Operating System, (Millennium, Win98) Just the way of the technology world.

It isn't mandatory you may set up any ver. of the Sim. you wish. As you did.

Didn't know that 1.2.6 doesn't work on 32-bit. You can get the 1.2.6 Huey module here.
