A-10C mission and instant action won't start

I just purchased the A-10C and installed it to my DCS world. All modules are of the same versions: 1.2.6.17746.255_263. No mods.

 

The trouble is I can't launch any of the A-10C instant action missions. Tried to start a couple of the default (included) A-10C missions, and they won't launch either. With both the A-10C instant action and included A-10C missions, I get a "DCS has stopped working" message and when I click "close the program", I'm returned to the DCS menu screen again.

 

The odd thing is that the A-10C training missions launch fine. Also, my FC3 and UH1H also work fine.

Make sure game resolution is same as desktop resolution,do this first as I have seen it before. let us know if it fixes your issue.

Yes, both in-game and desktop screen resolutions are the same.

 

All other fc3, uh1h, instant action, missions are working. Even the training for A10C is working.

 

Only the A-10C missions and the A-10C instant actions stop about 75% progress mark with "DCS Stopped working". Then takes me back to the main menu when I click "close the program"

 

(Quite frustrating given that I just purchased A-10C and can't get missions other than training to run :()

Make sure that the game avionics mode box in the gameplay options section is UNchecked. That is what did the trick for me. Of course now I am dealing with learning "real" avionics now. But it beats not having the game load up at all. I blame version 1.2.6 for all of these problems. Let us know how it goes.

I've found v1.2.6 to be subjectively less stable than say 1.2.5 with some other fc3 mission freezes or crashes in v1.2.6. Have others found 1.2.6 to "feel" less stable too?

I have a relatively fresh Windows installation (Win 7 64bit) to which I installed DCS 1.2.4. I skipped 1.2.5 entirely and let the auto-updater go right to 1.2.6 when the Mi-8 came out. So far not a single crash, glitch, CTD, blue screen or whatever. Only a few control mapping issues with the Huey.

 

I have mostly flown the three choppers in 1.2.6, so I can't say much about the fixed wings or CA (and I don't have any FC module). But I can't say that 1.2.6 feels very "glitchy" on my machine. Maybe I'm just lucky, though. :music_whistling:

I cannot take credit for another man's work... Malcheus had the same problem and figured it out. I just refined the solution a little.
