Slazi
How do we do this? A number of times I've suffered engine damagage and had to drive home. Would be nice to lose a little weight and see if that's enough to get me up in the air. Is the Mi8 able to fly with one engine like the KA50, or is it just enough power to bring you down to the ground without blowing up?
Mainstay
I dont know if its possible but if it is i think you should try these buttons. Again i havent tested this myself so.. Edited September 24, 2013 by Mainstay
Slazi
I've tried a lot of these buttons, but with no success. Anyone know a sure fire way to do it?
Mad_Jack
I got the pods to drop by having my master arm on and safety off. Then switching to the corresponding pod group with the weapons selection, then hitting the emergency release drops them. Not sure if it's the correct way but it worked for me. edit:spelling. XCrosser
I just had to drop my weapons after loosing my #2 engine. Master Arm/Safety Off then flipping the switches shown in Mainstay's photo will release all pods. I had my weapon selection in the "Center" position. Did not retry to see if it's possible for selective jett or not but I'm thinking it's all or none.
Mainstay
Ok just got home and tested it myself. All you have to do is flip the protector cap up and left click the switch and voila all payload is being dropped.

GunfighterSIX
I think you need AC power, so if you’re drooping the rotor rpm to low and the generators kick off then you might not be able to do it. lorenzoj
Good thought Gunfighter, we never asked if he had power....... The switch in Mainstays photo worked instantly to clear all my pylons. Make sure you are using the right hand switch under the safety cover. Lift cover - hit switch. Slazi
I've actually managed to drop a pod recently! I think it was a loadout of 6x20 missiles - but I don't remember which missile type (if that has any effect). I was really happy when I saw it finally working. It definitely seems to fail for a lot of my loadouts. I think I need more testing.
