Hi, I'm intrested CA addon, but I'd like to know how artillery works there. I can't find any videos of artillery control. Can someone discribe me how it looks? Is there any fun in artillery firing?

It could be fun... especially in multiplayer... one player can be Jtac and relay information to artillery commander.

Once the enemy is highlighted on the map (if Fog of War is enabled) you can ad it as target... set the radius and then commence firing.

If in First person (unit control) you aim the gun by measuring first range and azimuth on the F10 map and then turning first to the needed azimuth then setting range on the scale on the "HUD"... fire! Wait for effect on target confirmation.

so basicly it is possible to control artillery, that is what I wanted to know. I've seen couple videos where guy shows tanks control and I wonder why there are no artillery vids.

I also think you should make some kind of weapons list, which could describe all kinds of weapons like range, max alt etc. There a lot of toys and it is bit confusing.

it take some time before an artillery gun fire on a marked target (around 3min.)

 

Also, the target range is important. Either too far or too closeby to the target the artillery wont fire.

Vehicle warfare in this game is very bad. CA should be advertised as a RTS and played from the F-10 map....other than that it is very useless atm.....

 

 

its pretty bad as an RTS, there are some basic RTS UI features that are missing, and yet there are some features that a very few to no RTS games have which is funny.

 

but at least driving in CA is better than ARMA :)

Actually the game is quite entertaining. Yesterday I played with a group with myself as FOB and another player as the ground commander, and a set of A-10 pilots. Since we played a night mission I was able to lase and sparkle targets, and pass coordinates to the a-10's while sending artillery strike coordinates to the ground commander. They plugged those numbers into their devices and we blasted our way deep into enemy territory with minimal loss to our ground forces. Great fun. The most aggravating parts was dealing with the AI ground track bugs that have plagued CA since the beginning (ie navigating bridges and overpasses without doubling back, and navigating around wrecks). Hopefully this will be fixed in 1.5 or what ever the next rev is.

It's in german indeed, but maybe it will help you for the beginning - it shows the control/ GUI for the arty. ;)

Hi, I'm in CA addon

First post fixed, I wanted to write that I'm INTRESTED in ;) I don't know why it was cut off. Thank you all for answers, I'll check the vid even if I dont get a word in German ;). Oh and one more thing- is it possible to track fired shell in F6 mode? Would be cool to see where it falls.
