Revan Posted November 19, 2013 Author Posted November 19, 2013 Bombers yeah right! Sound good PS:Imagine "two" noobs with B-2 Spirit and a couple of B61 hmm, game over ... why on EARTH would we give some noobs a Nuclear bomb on their B-2??? we should make it so only experianced pilots get it. (or more like only in single player) DCS: F-4E really needs to be a thing!!!!!! Aircraft: A-10C, Ka-50, UH-1H, MiG-21, F-15C, Su-27, MiG-29, A-10A, Su-25, Su-25T, TF-51
Jonnio Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 I don't see any bomber modules being announced until they have a workable and stable shared cockpit implemented [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
mvsgas Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Any aircraft to the DCS level, with multiple crew would be a terrible idea ( I know guys, just my two cents, not trying to stir anything). Imagine, you buy a module but can't play it unless a friend (s) play with you. Lag issues, experience from other player issues, etc. , etc. B-52 would need 6 people IIRC, tankers would require at least 3. We all know games/simulators AI are not the most reliable copilots/wing-man/etc. To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..

We all know games/simulators AI are not the most reliable copilots/wing-man/etc. Due to many factors I tend to agree, although I think its possible, it just needs to be done very carefully and probably for very specific aircraft. Getting AI to either be a WSO or pilot for an F-15E to interact with the player is insanely more complex than adding AI door gunners to a B-17 or Huey or having AI fly a route while you take personal control of the tanker boom/doorgun/bombardier. AI will never be capable of the teamwork and interaction at a high level which humans are capable of, but its something that should be at least be worked toward. Unfortunately the high intensity multi-crew aircraft like the F-15E, Mi-24, Ah-64 are the most desirable for MP usage and probably the most difficult to get working right in single player. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Suchacz Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 (edited) Mi-8/17 is also a multicrew aircraft, which can't be operated by one crew member without switching seats. So your argument is true, but it is already solved by pressing keys 1,2 and 3 :smilewink: Any aircraft to the DCS level, with multiple crew would be a terrible idea ( I know guys, just my two cents, not trying to stir anything). AFAIK, F-14 for example, just starting the engine and running the systems required both crew members to work simultaneously. Imagine a B-52, being a pilot, while your Electronic Officer is managing threats, weapons officer is opening the bomb bay and setting all bombs for release...gunner covering your tail (deepening on the version of course). Just does not seem fun or doable. there is a reason those aircraft have and need multiple crew. If the aircraft is modeled like A-10C, or KA-50. Einherjer Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 A AI that opens the bomb bay for you? I dont think thats too much?!
VanjaB Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 (edited) IMO The bigger problem with simulating long range bombers is map size. Without a proper operating theatre (basically half the globe) long range or high speed bombers dont really make a lot of sense, except as demonstrators maybe. Maybe once EDGE and the mapping tools are released, one can only hope. Edited November 19, 2013 by VanjaB

I dont think thats too much?! Lol, to each their own guys. To me is not about switching seats or opening bay doors, Is about flying the aircraft while programing 20 JDAMs. About flying the aircraft, while controlling a GBU-15 to target. Flying the aircraft while managing 10 targets in a AN/AWG-9. If modeled accurately, just don't seem possible with AI that wont do simple task. I am not talking about just DCS. From Arma to BMS, many time we all have been frustrated by AI actions...at least I have. Einherjer Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 As a bombercrew, you have one Target. You know the targets location and there you have to deliver your ordnance. So Most of the Actions are related to the distance to the Target. So the bay Doors Would be opened with a comment when its Time for. In the A-10, the Autopilot is some Kind of AI too - the plane Flys itself while you programm your weapons as your role as a B/N. Navigation and bombing, using the Radar and Flir and navigator the Pilot to the Target he aquired are the thinks the B/N Would do. The Pilot just Flys - to the Point that the navigator said. So if you Chose to Play the B/N role, you have to do much work, your ai Pilot will fly you to destination you give him. If You Play as Pilot, you have to fly to the AI (B/N) given point as good as you can and evade demage from AAA and SAMs. I think it can be done, but there are no experiences yet.
badger66 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 SU-24 and F-111F ..... this would be cool .

upyr1 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 just had a thought, make either the B-17 or the B-29 flyable with their new WW2 stuff If they do the B-29 I hope it wouldn't be do hard to do the TU-4

I love that aircraft - it was a gate guardian at Blackpool Airport for years. Can you imagine that thing roaring overhead at M1.3.
kemz Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Tupolev Tu-22 with bigmap, and of course su-25 (T) in any case...

Can you imagine that thing roaring overhead at M1.3. I think they are off set so that the needles are either horizontal or vertical at normal operating temperature, makes it easier to see if one is outside normal with just a quick glance. Man that aircraft made enough noise at low speed without adding a supersonic bang to it as well :D Sons of Dogs, Come Eat Flesh Clan Cameron
Djent33 Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Seems like a reasonable find, the clocks a going forward soon anyway.
