Dudester22
I was just wondering if the sounds were taken from a real A10C? If not can you put your own in? Like a modified sound or something?

txmtb
It's an archive, you need a program like http://www.7-zip.org/ to decompress all the files. I think he means where do you put all them files because I'm also having trouble locating the directory? Anyone know exactly where to place these files? I have FC3 and all the other aircraft and don't want this Mod to effect all them. Edited November 1, 2013 by Dudester22

Believe they all go in C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Sounds\Effects I only used the engine ones and the gau so I replaced them one at a time and copied the originals to a zip for backup. cichlidfan
Do you have to remove the sound files before you update with a patch? Actually, the patch will do it for you, although, I would remove my mods first anyway. Tone71
Do you have to remove the sound files before you update with a patch? I use JSGME to do all this for me; might be worth looking into. Edit: Ebs has an excellent guide here, for all you ever wanted to know about JSGME but were afraid to ask. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=98607&highlight=jsgme Edited November 2, 2013 by Tone71 Windows 10 Home, Intel Core i7-9700K @ 4.6GHz, Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 Gaming (8GB VRAM) on 34" LG curved monitor @ 3440x1440, 32GB RAM, TrackIR 3 (with Vector Expansion), Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS, Saitek Combat Pedals, Thrustmaster Cougar MFDs. Fifi
Yes, use JSGME for any mod you want to run. Best tool around without messing up original game files, and before/after any update, just deactivating/reactivating them in one second  Be aware DCS has already a mod folder included (nothing to do with JSGME though) so you'll have to name your JSGME MODS folder with other name (i.e JSGME_mod) and drop your mods in it. Just be sure of the mod complete path inside to match DCS folders path. Edited November 3, 2013 by Fifi [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
sjb5001
I tried that soundpack and wasn't impressed by it, especially with the GAU-8 and engine sounds from inside the cockpit. I hear an echo after releasing the trigger (which would make sense if heard from the ground, not the cockpit) and the engines don't have that distinct whine which the GE turbofans have. I think the vanilla sounds are more accurate than this. Wasn't able to test it yet, but now it's done... I'm no A10C expert in any way, and don't know wich one is real or fake sound, but i too prefer the stock sounds even though the mod is given for the real one... Only a 10C specialist could tell me wich one is closer :D The gun echoe from cockpit sounds unreal to me. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Tholozor
That's always been an issue with that sound mod. I always remove GAU-8 sounds and just use the sounds for the TF-34.
