As 2024 comes to a close, we'd like to share a recap of our DCS activities this year, and some preview screenshots of the new G.91 cockpit.

MB-339A/PAN

The Macchino continues to be one of the most beloved modules to us, and in 2024 we have introduced a number of fixes and improvements. In particular:
FLIGHT DIRECTOR SYSTEM:
The most significant addition this year is undoubtedly the implementation of the Flight Director system, based on a PID control. This addition extends the training possibilities,  which now include instrumental landings.
SPECIAL OPTIONS:
New special options have been introduced, allowing users to customize their flight experience on the MB-339. These options provide greater flexibility in configuring the module to personal preferences.
NEW KEY BINDINGS:
We have expanded the number of available keybindings to allow for more intuitive and comprehensive control of the aircraft.
FLIGHT MODEL IMPROVEMENTS:
The flight model has undergone several updates, further refining the aircraft's performance. In particular, improvements have been made to ground behavior during taxiing and takeoff, making these phases more realistic.
BUG FIXES:
We have worked tirelessly to address various issues reported by the community. Some of the key bug fixes have been:
- More accurate Gunsight adjustments.
- Resolved GPS and TACAN issues, which now correctly indicate magnetic heading.
- Fixed incorrect altimeter values.
- Numerous other minor optimizations that improve stability and overall experience.
FUTURE UPDATES:
The MB-339 remains in continuous maintenance, and we will continue to release updates and bug fixes to ensure the highest level of quality and fidelity. Additionally, we are considering introducing new features, such as the ability to deploy AIM-9L and/or Magic II air-to-air missiles. Although this is a fictional feature for the A version, it could be an interesting addition to expand the module's operational capabilities.

DCS G.91
++++++
Although we have been very quiet about the development of the G.91 module, rest assured that we have been working on it quite a lot in the past few months: this module remains a key project for us, and development is actively progressing.
In particular we have just completed the the total refactoring of the cockpit model, and, while the textures are still WiP, we are happy to finally share with you some screenshot of the pilot's office.
The next major step is to fully integrate the new cockpit with the aircraft code on the aircraft to date, allowing us to get rid of the old model, which we no longer consider up to the high-quality standards achieved by DCS World.
We believe the G.91 development will proceed at a much faster pace and we are confident that we will be able to release a first version of the DCS G.91 by 2025. While we cannot commit to a specific date just yet, our philosophy remains unchanged across all our products: "It is done when it is done."

Just a quick update this holiday season:

During these past few months, our programmers along with the aerospace engineers have been working relentlessly on the flight model performance. We're excited to say we sent our updated FM for evaluation. We're confident it'll be the best simulation of an F4U-1D for everyone to experience.
So with that, "it's that time of year again..."

DCS G-91 PROJECT UPDATE

In the past few weeks our DCS Team made significant progress with the G.91 configuration and weapon system, so here is a quick update on where we are with this:
NOTE: AICRAFT TEXTURES AND 3D MODEL ARE JUST WIP PLACEHOLDERS - ALSO SCREENSHOTS INCLUDE GEOMETRY WITH MISSING TEXTURES - rest assured that everything will look much better in future 😉 
In addition to the  familiar MK81, MK82, and MK83 in their low-drag, snakeye, and AIR versions, LR-25 rocket pods with ARF-8/M3 rockets, LAU-3 rocket pods with FFAR rockets, and cluster bombs, we have decided to add air-to-air capabilities to our module by integrating the AIM-9B.
Although the designers of the time had already equipped the aircraft with a dedicated system for this missile, flight tests (particularly those conducted by the Portuguese Air Force) never yielded positive results due to the seeker's inability to lock onto heat sources. Fortunately, DCS is not reality and allows us to achieve goals that the designers and specialists of the time could not.
So, keep an eye on the sun and prepare for the best firing solution to maximize your chances of a successful hit!
We have alos been working on the specific launcher for the HVAR rockets. The G-91 could carry from 3 to a maximum of 6 HVAR rockets per pylon. The screenshot shows the configuration with 3 HVAR rockets per pylon.
Lastly, but no less important, we want to show you a very preliminary version of the AS-20 Nord missile and its dedicated launcher. Full integration with the aircraft, including the ability for the pilot to control it remotely, is planned for the next quarter.
We are also working on other weapons for the G.91, such as the LAU-32BA and LAU-51BA rocket pods, as well as the capability to take off using JATO rockets.
We are also evaluating the M116A2 Napalm, but at the moment we cannot confirm it will be included.
As usual we'll keep you posted on our progress as soon as possible.

Aviron - DCS: Kfir

Dear pilots and friends,

We wish you a Happy New 2025 Year and are excited to humbly present a summary of 2024 for Aviron Simulations. We know some of you have been eagerly awaiting this, and we thank you all for your support and engagement in our Discord community, helping us bring the Kfir to life.

Systems Department
The systems' components were developed with real physics logic, simulating the behavior of electricity, fluids, and mechanics as they would in real-world scenarios. It's all about those geeky intricacies for a truly authentic experience. We integrated the plane systems' primary and backup channels using the aforementioned physicalized components model. Additionally, we have developed specifically tailored testing tools to ensure that each component—and accordingly each system—meets expectations for well-defined behaviors, enhancing reliability.

Flight Model Department
We have been implementing a flight model based on actual wind tunnel data and are complementing it with a complex CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation to ensure accuracy. We are excited to announce that it is currently in the pre-alpha stage and taking shape.

Art Department
This year, we refactored our entire cockpit to bring it up to current DCS standards and fully integrated it with DCS. This means everything is clickable and has functionality linked to the system it represents. We don’t want to give away too much, so this is just a taste of what we’ve achieved. We can’t wait to share more information with you when we are ready!
