Dugulus Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 So I just got Battlefield 4 up and running on my Xbox One. Went to the test range and Jumped into a helicopter. Having turned on headtracking for the kinect not knowing what to expect i started flying the helicopter. Holy crap.....i looked around while flying and the kinect worked like a charm!! I seriously flew it for 10 seconds before i felt i had to write this. With no calibration or sensitivity adjustment it works really well! I am sure there will be issues and it wont be perfect, but this is so promising for the future of simulators (if it comes to PC) I had heard the Kinect will come to the PC eventually (thought i read that somewhere a while ago). If this is the case, this will be the future of headtracking (for me at least). I love my TrackIr, but this will be 1000 times smoother if it makes it to PC with the right software. Going to go back to experimenting....
javelina1 Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 My son just bought the Xbox one, and has been playing Battlefield 4. He loves the new kinect as well. While I'm here flying the SU-25T, I can hear him in the next room over taking on the WWIII.... :music_whistling::smilewink: MSI MAG Z790 Carbon, i9-13900k, NH-D15 cooler, 64 GB CL40 6000mhz RAM, MSI RTX4090, Yamaha 5.1 A/V Receiver, 4x 2TB Samsung 980 Pro NVMe, 1x 2TB Samsung 870 EVO SSD, Win 11 Pro, TM Warthog, Virpil WarBRD, MFG Crosswinds, 43" Samsung 4K TV, 21.5 Acer VT touchscreen, TrackIR, Varjo Aero, Wheel Stand Pro Super Warthog, Phanteks Enthoo Pro2 Full Tower Case, Seasonic GX-1200 ATX3 PSU, PointCTRL, Buttkicker 2, K-51 Helicopter Collective Control

joey45 Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 What did you expect from a console game??? The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. mhe Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 The Kinect for Windows is the thing from the older XBox 360, the XBox One has a newer and much more capable form of Kinect available which won't be available for Windows for quite some time. | i9 12900K | 64GB DDR5-6000 | STRIX RTX 4090 OC | LG 38GN950 38" | | Hanns-G HT225HPB | TIR 5 & Varjo Aero | Virpil Throttle & Stick | TM TPRs | You don't stop playing because you grow old, you grow old because you stop playing.

Dugulus Posted November 29, 2013 Author Posted November 29, 2013 This is something found on the Microsoft site. Looks like the Kinect for PC is coming relatively soon. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/kinectforwindowsdev/newdevkit.aspx
PoleCat Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 OT Just a quick comment to Activision and Origin on both the PC versions of BF4 and COD ghosts. The thing I dislike the most is the cut scenes. If I wanted to watch a movie I would have bought or rented one instead. These ported console games all seem to fail in this way. The FPS is fast and furious and gameplay is solid with great graphics and animations and a pretty good responsive feel (at an arcade level)and then you interrupt it and ruin it so you can show us what? That you are trying to direct a movie within the game? Well sorry but you stink at it...always. I am not drawn in but put off. If it has to be there keep it simple and quick. Give us much more of the gameplay and much less of the "story". You are great at making fun lightweight FPS but you suck at making movies. Out http://www.104thphoenix.com/
