Test: Setting CPU Affinity

I appreciate the help. I did run the compatibility troubleshooter also, no success though. I will uncheck "Run as Admin" and see what happens? Otherwise, I will look for another solution. I tried Process Explorer earlier today, but I could not find any means to setup any rules.

I'm still struggeling to reduce cpu frametimes.

Anyway, I recently stumbled upon an suite of up tp date tools:

I'm experimenting with ProcessExplorer. It lets' you set a processes priority and affinity and more.

I stopped fiddling with ProcessExplorer.

Setting core affintity didn’t seem to reduce cpu frametimes.

Setting DCS process priority to ‘realtime’ also didn’t improve frametimes drastically, maybe barely noticeable. I could be fooling myself (placebo/wishfull thinking etc.).
But I created a shortcut to cmd.exe to run DCS in realtime priority anyway.

Type in the targetbox:  %windir%\system32\cmd.exe /c start "" /Realtime "F:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS.exe".

 

As soon as stocks and prices are back to ‘normal’  I’ll update my 9700k@52_1080ti _32GB_NVMe combo to something more capable to drive my HP G2…

Thanks for the update. I'm not having issues with Framerates,,, just the stuttering/jittering. I fiddled again with Process Lasso yesterday, I couldnt make any improvements setting DCS on 2, 3 or all 4 cores,,,,

I have it set to use 2 cores (06 and 07) and cap my FPS at 30 (to avoid Tearing etc).

I have an AMD5800x, my fastest cores are 02 and 07, what code would I need to use? Having trouble figuring this out. Thanks!

This thread is 8 years old, the DCS Core has changed drastically since then, I wouldn't recommend forcing any affinity's on Ryzen or any of the last 9 Intel Core Generations.

Affinity and priority helps my 9600k when hosting a server. For singleplayer it doesn’t matter.
