Just one quick question for the pro sim gurus.

I have this problem when I'm approaching occupied tanker. I'm a bit confused which side of the tanker is used when awaiting refueling and which after refueling. a10 manual states that pre refueling side is on the right behind and left after. But original RAF manual states opposite. I attached extracted pages below.

Can anyone can share some knowledge? What do you do in case when you are approaching tanker and there are some planes behind?

NATO and US AAR procedures are different. And there is no "RAF" manual, only the ATP-56(b) which is a NATO document.

I believe you have to stay in 1 mile trail until you are cleared for pre-contact.

Waiting wingmen stay on the left and when finished form on the right as the NATO doc suggests.

Anyone know the Non-NATO Refueling procedures (ie Russian)?

probably there is a lot of radio communication involved in RL, unlike DCS.. I know, I know there is Ts, tars, to help organize these things but sometimes I wish there should be multiplayer voice com build in DCS..

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
