berkoutskaia Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 A kind of bug I noticed yesterday with the F-15. I tested a little more this morning, and it looks like the mars on the TEWS are still displayed, even if the detected A/C has been destroyed 10 minutes ago... Anyone else noticed it??? I'll be testing this during the afternoon, it really is annoying. In Mud I Trust.
S77th-konkussion Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 FWIW- the TEWS appears to be working normally in the A10 with respect to GROUND spikes. Based upon an hour mission or so last evening. I did not perform a clean install. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
berkoutskaia Posted February 11, 2006 Author Posted February 11, 2006 I'm doing a clean install to test this afternoon. I tested eith te A-10, and i had the same bug on the RWR with an AIR spike... In Mud I Trust.
Guest IguanaKing Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Yup...confirmed. Air threats stay on my A-10 RHAW. Not sure about ground threats yet. Patched from 1.11 to 1.12.
Shaman Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 MiG-29S, same thing, on RWS. Annoying airspike, while there was clearly noone there! 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer
Cougar Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Alright well try a Fresh install, 1.0 1.1 1.12 Then report back, ty
Cougar Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Ok, are these happening online or in single player mission or both?
Ironhand Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Also...is this happening in v1.11 built missions only? Or 1.12 as well? Pilotasso Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 They seem to persist longer than that. Although I can tell from real spikes from ghosts because the real ones emmits sound and are often acompaigned by blinking or changing Symbol (F-15). Ghosts remain there but silent and mostly inactive. The qick start mission is indicative. The Mig-25 Spike remains there for eons even if that plane is no longer radiating in my direction. As you can see...clean install and online as well. This seems to be an issue easely adressed with a hot fix. Unless you break something else in a chain reaction... :D I can tell Ghosts from real spikes well, its not bugging me much. .
berkoutskaia Posted February 11, 2006 Author Posted February 11, 2006 Here's a track in the F-15 quick mission. Track made on a brand new 1.0->1.1->1.12 install. All further tests I made were using 1.12 created missions. In Mud I Trust.
Skywall23 Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Did anyone test this with a Flanker? Check out all aircraft. Beta-testers, no harm or offence intended, but how did you manage to let this issue escape? I dont know hot you guys make the tests and how are they performed but you must test air combat right? Well, thankfully a simple hotfix can be enough for this one. Again no harm or offence intended for the Beta-Testers, its just a weird situation.;)
berkoutskaia Posted February 11, 2006 Author Posted February 11, 2006 Been testing in MP, it looks like only the server has the bug, the client do not. I've tested a little with Russian A/C, the bug doesn't happen. It also seems that only AI aircraft can cause the bug, I'm testing this right now. In Mud I Trust.
berkoutskaia Posted February 11, 2006 Author Posted February 11, 2006 Okay, we made further tests in MP: -only the server has the "ghost" spike bug -only AI aircraft can cause this bug. Let's hope the devs can build a hotfix for this one. I guess we'll have to wait for monday anyway ^^ In Mud I Trust.

Pilotasso Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Then it beats for the ADMIN's to install the patch over a clean install .
Cougar Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Yep will see Monday what will happen gents, thank you for reporting this problem I guess we arent perfect ;)
viperace Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Sorry Cougar I posted my other bug thread in the wrong forum :( But i'm glad to see it's going to get looked over by you guys. Thanks for the quick response and the precense here in the forums, it's nice to see developers and testers wormking together with their costumers and the community :)
Ice Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Beta-testers, no harm or offence intended, but how did you manage to let this issue escape? I dont know hot you guys make the tests and how are they performed but you must test air combat right? I cant speak for everyone but as far as the 169th go, we are responsible for testing the multiplayer side of FC. As we know ths issue is only seen by when using ai aircraft. This problem also only appeared in the last beta that was usable online. The issues that were known were looked for. This one came out from nowhere at the last minute.
S77th-GOYA Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 -only the server has the "ghost" spike bug -only AI aircraft can cause this bug. I got two RWR ghosts on the 504th server as a client. There were no AI aircraft.
169th_Crusty Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 If I remember correctly this problem appeared in ver. 1.0 It was fixed in 1.02 (at least the TEWS part)
169th_Crusty Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Also...is this happening in v1.11 built missions only? Or 1.12 as well? Rich 1.12 as well
berkoutskaia Posted February 12, 2006 Author Posted February 12, 2006 I got two RWR ghosts on the 504th server as a client. There were no AI aircraft. Well, at least what I tested with my mates yesterday didn't reveal any problem with human A/C and the clients. I guess we didn't test enough :) In Mud I Trust.
Ezor Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Well, at least what I tested with my mates yesterday didn't reveal any problem with human A/C and the clients. I guess we didn't test enough :) I get this ghost spike too as a client yesterday during a mission. Not only AI aircraft seems to cause this bug, i also encoutered the problem with S-300! 3rd-wing
Guest IguanaKing Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Not only AI aircraft seems to cause this bug, i also encoutered the problem with S-300! Was it the S-300 radar that had been killed that showed on your RWR? It has 3 different radars. ;)
Ezor Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Was it the S-300 radar that had been killed that showed on your RWR? It has 3 different radars. ;) We killed all radars of the S-300 site and i already get the spike at my homebase wich was at 300km from the site SAM !!! 3rd-wing
