41 Sqn/OCU is a small group who are part of RAFAIRUK and we cater to the more serious end of the DCS F18 fraternity. We formed three years ago from the chance meeting of the retired Commanding Officer of 41 Sqn and an ex-Chief Technician ground crew. After flying together and the Boss teaching me the basics of real-world training, we decided that we should expand the Squadron and train others - and the OCU (Operational Conversion Unit) was formed. The OCU course is taken from the Boss' own logbook and is a simplified (for DCS) version of the real course adapted for the F18 as the nearest jet to the RAF Jaguar in DCS (although far more advanced!). The course is fairly in-depth and requires a solid commitment to complete, but you will be flying with like-minded people in low-level formation attacks in all weathers by the end. You will have the opportunity to learn under the guidance of a seasoned and decorated Sqn Commander, in an environment as close to real as DCS can offer, with a staff of personally trained ex-mil personnel. We ask that you do not come to us unless you have the time available to fly at least twice per week and are open to learning, from scratch, how the Air Force train fast jet pilots. We set no basic flight requirements beyond that you can do a full manual start, take off and land safely - and even then we are prepared to help you achieve this if you are close. Having Teamspeak and SRS up and working is also a necessity. Visit the RAFAIRUK website, select Sqn's and Operational Conversion Unit and scroll down for our video and syllabus, if that looks good to you, come and talk to us on Teamspeak and we'll go from there. Roon.

The VMFA-214th black sheep is a United States Marine Corps fighter attack squadron that has a long and distinguished history of service and heroism. The squadron was formed in 1942 and became famous for its exploits in World War II, under the command of Major Gregory “Pappy” Boyington, a Medal of Honor recipient and one of the top aces of the war. The squadron was nicknamed the “Black Sheep” because of its unconventional and unorthodox tactics, and because many of its pilots were misfits and troublemakers. The squadron flew the F4U Corsair and shot down 203 enemy planes, while producing nine aces and numerous other award today the Blacksheep fly F-35s and flew AV-8B During WW2 they Flew the F4U -

Welcome to the Virtual 357th Fighter Squadron! Are you looking to be challenged? Do you find enjoyment in pushing the envelope of A-10CII realism to its limits? Do you have what it takes to make it through a rigorous training program? If you answered yes, then the v357th may be the place for you. We have put hours of time into developing an extensive training program, that will test you at every aspect of flying the mighty HAWG! From the basics of airfield operations and ILS approaches, to complex attack profiles and Danger Close 9-Lines, we will push your skill to the limits, and challenge you to fly better and faster than before. Now don't let our love for precise BAI Shacks and fancy comm work fool you. At the end of the day, this is just a hobby for most of us, and we are merely trying to enjoy the sim to the best of our capabilities. However we never expect perfection, and we don't take ourself seriously outside of the pit. While the program is extensive, we accept virtual pilots of all experience levels, whether you are green pilot with the itch to learn the brrrrtt, or a seasoned veteran looking for a new group to conquer the virtual skies, we are the place for you. All times are listed in EST, with our usual flight times are Tuesdays and Saturdays 2000-2100 EST start times. Flights usually last around 1-3 hours from briefing start to end of debrief. However, you can usually find someone around most nights to get flying. If you are interested in learning more about the v357th, or would like to apply, visit our Discord here: https://discord.gg/sa6cKMsSbV and introduce yourself. We look forward to flying with you soon.
