The dual SD-10 pylon loadout is ~6.16 (0.00150390623 * 4096), which includes both missiles and the pylon. Each missile itself in that loadout is ~2.64 (0.00064453124 * 4096) and that value is subtracted from the dual pylon loadout when the missile is fired. Same for the single SD-10 loadout which has a total drag value of ~2.64 (0.00064453124 * 4096) while the missile itself is 2.2. The drag for dual SD-10 loadouts are high but aren't that high. For reference, the AIM-120 LAU-115 2xLAU-127 dual pylons has a drag roughly of 8.027.

FWIW, I vastly improved my exported MFD displays by changing them to a 16:9 resolution, vs what fit into my Apache MFD frames.

New Sniper Pod: how to get a sharp picture
Tholozor replied to warmachine79's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Enable XR image processing by double-tapping the Expand/FOV button on the stick, and ensure the pod is in AREA or POINT track (processing takes a second or two). If the pod is slewed it will revert to normal until the camera is stabilized again, then the image will be re-processed. -

Sure, that doesn’t sound like an option here. Yet. It’s probably the future though. All other media has moved from packaged to downloaded to streamed. Games likely will too. We’re just at stage 2 for now. I don’t see how a global earth model ED is considering would be feasible unless it were streamed.- 32 replies

Have you seen a telephone pole (SA-2) coming at your face yet?

I am so happy for you! And now I totally get the love for VR. Let me tell you I just did a barrel-roll with my F-18 in DCS and I almost throw up! I tried to pull 7G and it was to much, I started to feel light-headed and a bit dizzy, if that's not immersion I don't know what is!

Hey guys, I tried the new sniper pod and also watched a tutorial video on it, is my understanding correct that I only can get a sharp picture if I lock on something? I tried the "Stop rockets rolling" mission in the Syria packet and modified the missions so that the F16 has the Sniper pod. However, all I see is a pixelated mess. How can I get a sharp picture in order to actually look for targets before locking on them?

Please Address Game Bloat from CoreMods & Excessive Liveries
rob10 replied to celestHawk's topic in DCS Core Wish List
"Just" 50 mbps. In some cases that's not available on the user end. And as BigNewy pointed out, that's multiplied by thousands on the ED end that has to serve up.- 32 replies

I truly am!! I have been dreaming since I was a child, to pilot a fighter jet, and with VR it feels EXACTLY like that. My mind is still blown to be honest!

Thanks buddy! I jumped into my F-18 Hornet and my jaw dropped down to the floor! This is INSANE! The F-18 cockpit in VR is crazy, it like jumping into a real fighter jet, it really is!!! Thanks buddy! Yeah everything has been running smooth with a stable 50 FPS in singleplayer until I tested multiplayer , then everthing crashed. But I think it is because I am running my Metaquest 3 /steamlink with Wifi, and they stronlgy recomend using a internet-cable, so down to the store tomorrow to buy a cable

I would agree with that. Could use tweaking, but I don't think it should be easier or dumbed down, just adjusted to a more realistic manner. In a real car just because you hit redline doesn't mean the engine will blow instantly. Lots of variables in there to consider. I would assume aircraft engines are built with some pretty hefty safety margins.Just because you shouldn't go over a certain parameter, doesn't necessarily mean you can't.. maybe .... I love the Jug too .. I have seized the engine a few times not paying attention Only seized the F4U once, coming in for landing and again wasn't paying attention. Loving the F4U too but I agree it's close but not quite there.

I don't believe it actually says FEET, but either way the measurements are all in METERS rather than feet. Yes it would be good if it included what unit it was using. That one caught me out when I was learning the mission editor. Basically everything in the background of DCS is in metric because it the countries where DCS was originally developed were metric AND it's a lot easier to work in metric than imperial units. Any imperial units in DCS are converted from metric in the background.

I fly the P47 all the time, never blew up the engine. And I never use takeoff assistance in any of the warbirds I own. I have no problem in taking off, landing or managing the engine in any of them. Yet the Corsair feels very weird, both in flight model and engine management (FM feels easy and artificial to me). I agree with Saxman, having an engine that blows up every time you exceed POH for a few seconds is far from being realistic, quite the opposite actually. And I’m not suggesting it should be easier or more “arcade” to manage. I’m suggesting it should have a more flexible, less rigid implementation; possibly with some power deterioration before the engine just dies. But as you say, it’s still WIP so I hope it’ll get adjusted. BTW, I love the F4U and I’m glad that Magnitude brought it to DCS, just trying to give some constructive feedback.

Ok, a friend of mine had this weird problem with an X65f from saitek in windows 11. I found a post with a solution that finally worked, and i thought I'd share for future reference and for anyone having problems. The symptom are that in windows, the calibration of the axes seem fine, but in dcs the axis give 100% or -100% and nothing in between. turns out the calibration process, gets stored in the windows registry with the wrong values. Deleting these entries solves the problem, or, if you need deadzones, you can adjust the values manually. the post tells you how i found it in this post, read carefully. https://forum.piboso.com/index.php?topic=20051.0 the post describes W10, but W11 works just fine as well. As i said, i ended up just deleting the calibration entries for the faulty axis and that worked. (reboot after deleting or adjusting) you need your product id used in the registry. i found that here: https://forum.simflight.com/topic/78117-fixing-problems-with-50-or-digital-onoff-action-with-saitek-levers/ this post didn't actually work, but going into the registry there i was able to identify the needed id because the entry values said saitek. so i cross referenced that with the other post and voila!. it is also possible to just go over the registry entries and see which one has a subfolder named 'calibration' it.
