That certainly gave my hype a +1
-
It might be, really, but I remember it gained some popularity (or maybe even re-introduction) not all that long ago. Definitely in the DCS 2.x era. It's just confusing all around.
-
I can relate to the wish, but I'm afraid the mish-mash of nomenclature is tied to the very core of what DCS is.
-
I'm fairly sure that even if any sort of deity exists, they are perfectly puzzled as to what exactly Combined Arms is supposed to be. You know, it's fun to dream sometimes. A lot of people throw the word 'functional' around easily here, you know. But really, thanks for the laugh.

Thats right but there was a time when "Mission start" trigger didn't work. And it didn't work for almost a year so I used the "Once" with the timer. So I don't know whats the situation now because I didn't touched the game for a long time already.

Actually, that is the "Trigger Type": The difference between ONCE and MISSION START is that ONCE can only run after you have entered the aircraft cockpit and are seated on the aircraft, while MISSION START can run the moment the mission starts, for example it can run while you are still on the Slot Selection screen choosing which client aircraft to use.

Well, there is a trigger in the triggers menu which is called something like "On mission start" (The left section of the triggers menu). But it is not always working so I prefer to choose the "Happens once" trigger and then you choose the condition in the middle section. Something like "Do after" and you set an amount of seconds which will pass until the trigger will be triggered. You can set it to 10 for example then after 10 seconds when mission starts the trigger will be triggered. Then in the right section you need to choose "Set flag". You can set the number of the flag and it can be any number you want. But I prefer to set the flag number which will be meaningfull so 29 is respects to a MiG-29 for example, but it can be any number 129, 229, 341 or whatewer else you like, it dosen't matter its just a name of the flag. And you need to set the value of the flag. The zero value is false but any value which is not zero is true. So if you are willing to do mathematical operations on this flag than you need to create another trigger which will check if this flag is less than zero, than set it back to zero. You need to choose the "Happen repetedly" on the right section for the reset trigger and then in the middle section "Flag less than", then choose the name of the flag you want to check 29, 129.... and set the value to 0 (So you wil check if this flag is less than zero). On the right section you choose "Set flag" and use the same number of the flag 29, 129... or whatewer you choosed to name it, and set it's value to 0.

How about the combined arms?
-
We're trying to make mid October. That might slip to November. I'll be shocked if its any later than that.

if we want to talk about a Herc with a silly nose... even has a little hat too..

Well, as @FierceLV mentioned, DCS is loading stuffs (either signed or unsigned mods) in the background (unless disable background loading) after logging in. Due to the "better" hardware, it may not need 5 to 10 mins.

Nice apocalypse therapy session. You’ve invented a new genre: meta-simulated ennui—DCS isn’t a sim, it’s a bug-hunt simulator. Cute. Reality check: some people indeed love the fiddly joy of installing mods and fixing LUA scripts; others actually enjoy flying and shooting stuff. Both camps exist. Want a polished “DCS 3.x” miracle boxed up with 2025 graphics, flawless AI, perfect carriers, and a worship-free forum? Great wishlist — drop it in Santa’s mailbox next to “unlimited development resources” and “instant QA for all third-party modules.” If you want change that isn’t a rant-shaped prayer: Pick three realistic, measurable improvements and push them with reproducible bug reports and community proposals. Stop asking for “everything” in one release; prioritize. Engage unpaid modders with concrete incentives (docs, tool access, communication channel), not broad insults. And while you’re at it, fix “its” vs “it's”—syntax matters when you want devs to take you seriously. We’re not doomed. We’re just dramatic, and drama doesn’t compile into features.

MIG-29 confirmed release date September?
CrazyGman replied to The Gryphon's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
My guess based on previous ED releases They said release likely end of summer. (After previous revision from June) This by ED standards means no earlier then September 22. (The absolute last day of summer is still summer ) Typically things get held up by about a week which puts it at September 29, but you don't release on a Monday so likey September 30th to October 2nd depending on issues. This lines up with the pre-order discount on steam which is September 30th -
(moved from another thread) Now on 1.14.2, with QVC and TM favourite settings. Performance was appalling on 1.14.1 Performance on 1.14.2 is back up to solid 90fps and the sharpening in PP is really great (I cap it at 70 anyway and leave headset Hz at 90), still some stuttering when looking towards 3/9 o'clock near the ground where theres lots of objects but i'm getting a very faint white box in the centre of the FOV flickering..and its totally ruining what otherwise i might have praised. I put this here because I read somewhere on net someone else describing exactly that problem but now I cant find where I saw it to read on for the fix! Facing the prospect now of rolling back to 1.40 with QVC and accepting no sharpening (which is a loss but i have to trade it against this silly white flickering box) Any advice, anyone read that elsewhere? 5090 MSI Suprim soc DDR5 6200 19-14900K

Incoming fire expected, but I'm starting to think that we have it all wrong. I think that DCS was neither meant to be a flight simulator nor a combat simulator. DCS is a Flight/Combat Simulator Simulator The fun isn't actually flying/combatting, the "fun" is actually getting the simulator to function properly; the software IS the game. User mods are just extra "quests" to complete to get/keep the game running. Every now and then ED will throw in maps or EA modules that just barely work -- just to keep everyone playing the actual game of getting the software running properly -- again. Think that indie hacker game where you actually had to code in a console to play the game... Thank you. I'm off the soapbox now. TLDR: There is more activity in these forums about how to fix, enhance, modify and overcome faults than there is actually FLYING and using the sim for it's purpose of digital combat flight simulation. If ED doesn't see the previous sentence as the WHOLE issue here, then we're all doomed. DOOMED, I tell you. ...For the forum topic: I wish that ED would release a "DCS 3.x", that has 2025 graphics capabilities, functional AI, functional FM, functional weapons, populated maps, updated legacy maps, improved ATC and Carrier ops, more static templates, fully-functional modules and maps BEFORE release, EA < 1yr, DCE, updated ME and scripting engine, involve (not alienate) UNPAID module builders, implement all the promised changes for the past 10 years, AND finally, reign in the evangelists long term members on the forums. All in one package. I would even pay for such a new and improved DCS -> but only when it hit v3.5.

Yep. Three times this week within a campaign in Caucasus; Sudden nose down during flight. Rocket at the flare when landing. -
What we have in DCS is Magic I with magnesium fluoride seeker window. However, missile performs as same as early Magic I with glass window. If you have magnesium fluoride window, you should get about 90 degrees aspect. If not, 60 degrees. However, in DCS, Magic I had 60 degrees aspect with magnesium fluoride window. This is completely not right. Currently Magic I should be modeled with pure glass. and we probably need a new magnesium fluoride version.

Unfortunately, this is not currently possible at the official level. But it would be great to see a custom mod with this helicopter.
