Yeah. The main takeaway is that the radar needs to point at the Shrike. Which the SAM has no interest in, it follows you or other aircraft. So that is something you have to keep in mind regarding positioning and similar.

Just in case the Dev Team is unaware of the conflicts with the ILS beacons for the CW Map. I've noticed that when on the Ramp at Hahn AB the Spandehlem ILS Localizer is received (108.10) as this is the default Freq for the Viper on initial startup. In troubleshooting, this also occurs for Air Starts between Hahn and Frankfurt. This also occur if the Bitburg ILS (111.90) is tuned. My guess is the localization radio is set for a wide area transmission rather than a localized beam signal. Currently, Hahn's ILS is programmed to 112.30 for Rwy 03 and 112.00 for Rwy 21. These are invalid ILS system radio frequencies. The ILS system typically operates between 108 to 111.95 in 5 Mhz increments. In fairness, I'm not familiar with Eastern Block Aircraft where the frequency range may be different. I'm not sure if this is a Map issue or a F-16C module issue. I have asked others about this occurrence and received the same results.

Just had this happen on a MP server, 10 GBU-12's and it was the 3rd bomb released as stated above. Level drop, no negative G's. Also I do not have any mods installed.

Not technically a beam rider. It just tracks an emitting radar by its main lobe only. The radar has to illuminate the Shrike's seeker with the Main Lobe for the Shrike to track. This means that my attack profile usually involves a split-s. Remain in line with the axis you fired on.

That's interesting, I updated my BIOS to latest versions as soon as they were released to mitigate the degradation issues. I'll wait for the fix and if it doesn't solve it, then I'll revert to older BIOS versions. Thanks for sharing your observations.

Bad news for all guys, I have just built 9 identical PC's and at least 4 of them suffer the new SSD-Kill bug or how you want to call it. The simple answer is that the AI cannot drop two different types of bombs in a single pass. If however you select bombs all of the same type then ALL the bombs will be released if selected. The option to select for a full bomb release is 500lb GP Short tail*4 this option was added because of the AI processes linked to bomb release. I hope this helps. Cheers.

I, too, have stopped buying modules and won't buy any more until I see the backlog bugs fixed. DCS is potentially a great simulator, but only for very simple and straightforward missions. So far, I haven't gotten beyond Instance Action flights (a great one is Battlefield in F18) and the fantastic Huey (it's a shame it rains inside the cockpit), along with a few excellent Reflected campaigns. I wouldn't be so harsh on the work done in the last 10 years. A lot has been accomplished (MT, without which it would be completely unusable today, Supercarrier, Graphics, Weather system, completion of some EA). Unfortunately, recently, we've seen a lot of dispersion on non-priority modules (I imagine to raise money) and, consequently, many unresolved and seemingly neglected bugs. In my opinion, a serious pause for reflection is needed to fix the backlog. It would be enough to focus on new advanced paid add-ons (advanced ATC, paid Dynamic Campaign and MAP enhancements, advanced and documented APIs, etc.). The current situation is unsustainable and I fear it marks the beginning of the end.

IT DOES !!! I have sunk a full blown Linux SMB-FTP-SSH-WWW-SANE-VMware(WinSRV DC+Exchange). with a SINGLE SPACEBAR , it can happen...it's long ago but it was a lesson learned cause it was MY server, MY mishap and extraordinary stupid. rm ./* add a SPACE before / and/or skip the "." then fasten seatbelts. LoL. that's roughly how I managed to delete /. which is ROOT FILESYSTEM for non-Linux users. Yeah, too me 1 second to realize...it kept running from RAM....but the damage was done. LoL. I deleted the WHOLE file system whereas I only wanted to delete a subfolder including it's files....1 space too much, or a missing dot....and disaster strikes ! Linux is really robust regarding missing files.....had a client server that got his drives stolen while running....the only thing you recognized from a client was an empty share, the server ran...until reboot. Anyway.....today's mishap is even greater but nor caused by me, other than I choose the parts: FOUR out of NINE identical PC's I just built have the SSD-Kill bug that goes around, and ALL have Samsung 990Pro-1TB drives !!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe the first once documented as far as I can tell. Wrote a note below Jay's 2 Cents video that I have it on 4 990Pro's , it ALSO Samsung now. So, what do you do, call the lucky customer who hasnt had a crash yet and speak to his VB, "Hey, we might have an issue, MS releases a patch blabla.." Done that 30 min ago. It's a bad situation, almost all vendors seem to be affected, you cant steer left or right w/o falling into the same pit, only thing would be Sata-SSD's for all nine and a nice clone job IN LINUX as windows tends to be "u-n-s-t-a-b-l-e" these days if you run NVMe. Make your Backups guys....I spent till 3am backing up a network, from A-Z, all machines, complete machine..... I felt a lot better today with 4 failing PC's knowing that I installed Acronis last night and put them all thru a full backup to Linux with SFTP. There was a way back if the drives go south completely, as has happened with WD drives. Deinstalling the patches 9x tonight on all those PC's...hope that fixes it for now.....Jay says it wont fix it !
