  2. Well if they were more complex they’d be full-fidelity If you want to “learn the systems” that’s the way.
  3. I can always ask (even though I'd rather have a DCS manual at this point). Do you have some public documentation describing what you are looking for?
  4. its not the accuracy of the dimensions, its getting the full flavor out of the model. You know, little flaws in the panels where one edge might be pried up with a screwdriver, paint chipped around dzus fasteners, dents here and there, rivet squeeze stress marks on skin panels, sealant squeeze out around canopy frames and panels...its every single little detail that can make the cockpit feel alive. Maybe even a paperclip that was painted over right next to the seat tracks, or frayed wire bundles. You know, the little stuff that gets overlooked. This is where that new laser scanning tech really shines and you can see it all over these new models that started with the A-10CII. Id really like to see the F-16 and 18 models scanned and introduced in some point in time if possible.
  5. Only partially. The FC3/4 jets offer no way to learn the systems in any real way. If they had options to enable more complicated functions they'd be more like what I'm suggesting.
  6. There are the Flaming Cliffs 3 and 4(?) mid-fidelity modules for those who aren’t up for the full-fidelity aircraft. Solved.
  7. He will enter NARROW mode and adjust the antenna of the radar to always point at this bandits altitude. He will also follow the bandit with the screen distance setting to keep him mostly centered. And of course also keep the cursor on them. In other words, the radar beam is pointed straight at the bandit (provided you also point the aircraft at the bandit azimuth-wise). It is the closest you get to a TWS in this aircraft.
  8. This is realistic. SAPHEI is not really armor piercing (hence semi armor piercing), it can deal with basic armor, but it's more of a HE and incendiary round that simply doesn't go off on the first thing it touches, like pure HEI does. It's basically a combined effects round that works best against soft skinned targets like aircraft or trucks. It can punch through something armored against small arms fire, but real plating, like on a BMP-3, will defeat the round.

    CAVEAT EMPTOR

    Still Unresolved.
  10. Radar and IRST will now pick up each others lost locks. In TP mode you get radar ranging, pressing lock transitions radar to STT as does laser range. You can fire Fox 1 from TP mode. Radar STTs in close combat modes. Not fully implemented for helmet, still won’t lock with radar from 30-60 degrees from nose. What I didn’t expect, if your in radar mode, and switch to TP within IRST lock range, it will switch to IRST leading. Similarly if you enter Radar leading from IRST lock, switching SUV knob further right to close combat will switch to IRST leading and then you can switch it back to normal TP scan if you don’t want it to STT beyond laser range and instead have radar ranging. However can’t seem to transition from IRST leading to radar by moving SUV knob, it drops lock. It seems you can be sure radar is in STT with IRST leading when you get the rhombus/diamond. However it allows you to use HPRF, so that hasn’t been implemented yet. It seems coop has functions with radar still in ILLUM, but you can’t enter radar ranging mode with IRST unless radar is in DUMMY/EKV. Oh and a bad side, even if in IRST mode and you activate radar STT or radar leading, you won’t get IFF and friend/foe switch won’t drop lock on friendly. You need SUV knob in radar mode for that
  11. Please attach your DCS log for review. Note that the F-10 Map is a well known issue in VR. This can largely be due to VRAM overflow....and you only have an 8Gb 3060Ti (and low specs in general for a larger MP server). Current workarounds (aside from lowering textures to reduce VRAM usage...which may still not help): Alt-tab out of the game, and then alt-tab back in again after a few seconds. This can help clear VRAM. Ensure you center and zoom back in on your plane on the map prior to jumping back into the cockpit again Use OpenKneeboard along with the DCW Web Editor Moving Map (as a web dashboard tab). This will display a dynamic map with a lot of the F-10 map functionality. This can help with not even needing to use the F-10 map, depending on your usage.
  12. I want to point out that "focus" isn't like TWS in a more modern jet. @Zabuzard does using the "focus" command make Jester keep a closer eye on the target or just keep the cursor over it?
  13. This is not and never was a game for beginners or semi-casual players. Procedure proficiency and grace under pressure are the defining attributes of the excellent DCS pilot. Didn't you know that before you joined that train?
  14. @Flappie We got us a new one.
  15. F/A-18C bug with RE Cluster Hello everyone. I have the F-18c module that I have recently updated. After the update, I went to play "Close air support" in the "instant action" menu. After the update, this weapon (RE) hasn't been working right. When I release the weapon, I press F6 to view the weapon drop to target. However, the cluster bomb does not disperse as it should like it did prior to the update. It rather just falls to the ground in one bomb. It also appears to go through the ground.I know I have set this weapon up correctly in the jet, and I have completed this mission countless times as I use it as a warm-up before other missions. I set the fuse to PRI and use CCIP. This issue is not just on that map, but on others as well, such as "weapons practice". I have not tried other weapons to confirm if that is the only issue. So far, I have tried restarting my PC after the update, and making sure my DCS program is up to date (2.9.20.15010). Any help will be appreciated.
  16. I am experiencing significant latency issues with the mirror rendering in VR on the Meta Quest 3. When I move my head or adjust my pilot position, the mirrors exhibit a delay of approximately 0.5 seconds or greater before reflecting the movement. This lag renders the mirrors effectively unusable. This mirror latency significantly impacts gameplay immersion and tactical awareness, as real-time mirror feedback is essential for situational awareness during combat operations. I have tested this issue across different connection methods to isolate potential causes. The latency persists both when using Virtual Desktop over wireless connection and when connected directly via cable without Virtual Desktop. This consistency across connection types suggests the issue is related to the mirror rendering implementation rather than the connection method or bandwidth limitations.
  17. The game crashes on the map of Germany only if you select the cartridge in Kneeboard in BER mode. And with a cold start. If you insert the cartridge in NAV mode, then close the Kneeboard, switch the mode to BER and dial 9099, everything works!
  18. distance missed doesn't make it a bug. And the aim-7 is not on the same advanced model yet.
  19. Anyone checked after today's patch to see if this was addressed?
  20. Mig29A Bomb STILL Fall Short.trkStill.......still dropping short after newest update.
  21. Hey, I could be wrong, I'm going off internet information after all, but it was internet information from confirmed fighter pilots. What sources do you have that contradict this?
  22. Thank you. I'll keep digging into this topic for a bit. I've remembered something I wanted to ask. Since we're trying to replicate the Mi-24 as faithfully as possible, is there any consideration of implementing a check for dangerous engine vibrations? If the thermocouples work, why shouldn't the vibrations work?

  25. Make the game more friendly to beginners and to semi-casual players. I'm sick and tired of struggling through attempting certain ultra precision maneuvers endlessly without success, and having to remember each and every last switch for each and every module I want to fly, etc etc etc. There actually *IS* a market for something between War Thunder and DCS. If DCS doesn't want to add difficulty options for single player, then I'm sure Falcon 5 will gladly step in and fill that gap. If module makers don't want to add levels of difficulty and complexity to their modules, then module money can be spent elsewhere. I don't care what advice you have to tell me about my flying skills, because I don't care, and I don't want to hear. My skill level or my commitment to this VIDEO GAME aren't the issue here.
