  1. Yes shift-j will just have that jiggle effect but that doesn't answer your question. It's just several clever camera tricks you could use. For example the F2 external view, you can do a different type of zoom with ctrl / or *. You can also use free cam F11. You can padlock it with the . from the numpad key. One of the main things you saw though in the movies is the use of the F4 view, this is pretty hard to master because it requires you to change the code in one of the files. You can place this camera anywhere on the plane, in the front, under a pylon, above...etc. Another trick you can use is in the F2 view, you can circle around the plane, then use shift-esc to unlock the plane so you can look around from that axis. It's pretty complex, hope you get it.

  2. 1. The map textures are contained in Bazar\Terrain\Surface\High\MapTexturesBMP.cdds. 2. I extracted the textures from it. 3. They are a group of small square textures and I reconstructed them as the entire map. 4. I overlapped a actual geographic map on it and traced the line. 5. I break the map into the tiles again. 6. I converted the textures from BMP to DDS. 7. I inserted the DDS images into the original cdds using LO texture tool. 8. I packed the cdds as a LoMan file. I had to make up very small details of the line because the geographic map I used was not detailed enough. So the details must be a little inaccurate if you mind. :P

  4. Try disabling the autokick feature on the server... :) You can't join a game and controll at the same time. For testing purposes you should load an AI mission or a mission you are not flying yourself otherwise you will get kicked as long as the autokick feature is active... It's against cheaters... And the policy file (Lockon/Temp/policy-file.xml) is only for net based clients (swf uploaded to webhost). The file is a standart Macromedia (adobe) security protocol xml text that is sent to the client to ensure communication is permitted... see: http://livedocs.macromedia.com/flash/8/main/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=LiveDocs_Parts&file=00001623.html you wont have to do anything just leave the policy-file.xml in your Temp directory next to the RadarServer.exe
