  2. Please test simply joystick profiler for LockOn. I think, it will be usefull first of all to change joystick axis response (AFM-SFM). Work of this program is based on fact, that LockOn allows to replace joystick ini-files without serious consequences and re-reads these adjustments of input devices before start of mission. The program just substitutes a file of joystick adjustment on one of three beforehand determined. Readme file is inside archive. Profiler.zip

  4. EDIT 04-13-2007: Kys has made some update. Please download the file again. The links are updated. Kys released his new fictional model. You can get the package from www.virtual-jabog32.de. This is VF-15 only package. VF-15 can be equipped with 2nd seat, conformal fuel tanks and sensor pods by changing its ON-BOARD#. VF-15 skin variations image I combined VF-15 and WF-33 as one package and placed in my site. CAUTION: My package will replace Config\View\server.lua to change F-15's cockpit position. So, the cockpit view rotation limits will be changed, too.

  5. You know- he's right. Obviously they should have stuck with the F14 as their primary multi-service CAS platform. Oh....they will regret this day!!!!!!!!

  7. ECM blinking is used to bring the target in closer where missiles have higher Pk. At least, if both sides are doing it ... otherwise it's just used to take a shot where the other side doesn't get one.

  8. aliens? lol. Ya, Superkungfu, i think I owe you some rep any ways. Does any one ever give bad rep? I never give it out.

  9. What does ECM blinking have to do with communism? But I agree, ECM Blinking is for n00bs who dont know any other way to win an engagement. (not that i can my seld, but I don't ECM blink.)

  12. Guess real F-16s don't start flipping around like crazy after a few tailslides as well in real life :/ F4 LOOKS like a real F-16 sim, but is not realistic at all FM wise, gosh I hate reading posts on frugals like falcon was some dedicated 'sim' (multi thousand dollar) sim and wearing oxygen masks and stuff, thinking the real F-16 flies as crappy and boring like in F4. No sim can be perfect, no matter how much info the devs have.

  13. All HUD tapes I've seen of the f-16 show exactly that the F4's FM on rails and underpowered engine is very much wrong in the actual flight dynamics.

  15. The old excuse that I have already seen a million times. You dont get the sensation to fly Automan's holographic non intertial plane in real planes, just because there is no maths behind the F4's flightmodel to do it. All it does is adjust speed according to drag and lift charts. F4 FM is just as falible as LOMACs. My brother flies block 15 F-16 and takes the back seat of MLU' s as well and he says F4 models are COMPLETELY screwed over in what regards flight sensation. I asked if the speeds were wrong and he said: "Its not the crsuise speed that wrong, its the whole AOA and low speed handling, its way off, I can controll much easier and in F4 it becomes like a dead weight at landing" -When I ask him about abou this his typical answers are: "F4 engine power modeling is closer to that of a T-38C than that of an F-16. A few days ago my instructor on my wing told me I was cleared to use AB ( to get me the feel for it for the first time), wich I did, I was at normal cruise about 300-400 knts speed at 1700 feet and I felt tremendous acceleration as the AB stages kicked in, as I started a turn it still kept on accelerating, then I pushed more, past 8G's and the thing still kept on accelerating, it took just moments untill I saw mach 0.97 on the HUD and just had to throttle it back before I broke the speed limits (sound barrier pi$$es alot of people down there)" -What about flight charestics in regards to handling compared to F4 and LOMAC? "lets revise what FBW is about: its there to prevent you from exceeding the aircrafts limits and do quick adjustements to prevent that from hapening, too quick for us to notice it, apart from not having to trim the aircraft all that much like in others, there is not much difference in flight sensation to other aircraft aside from pure turn and speed perfomance of course. Our simulators we have at home, F4 is off (but then so is our remaining training simulator at the base, the other one we had before was better) LOMAC is better but the plane it simulates is different (he flies only f-15 in LOMAC)" -What about BFM and high altitude perfomance? "I have routinely flown above 30000 feet and went over 45000 once, I had no trouble climbing that high without the use of afterburner and keep level flight in military power. Thats because we refrain from using AB except for take off runs so we keep the most fuel for the mission, not for hot dogging. I just cant do that in LOMAC"

  17. Well tomato isn't made of pure "tomato matter" the thing (as any organic matter) contains water and lots of other stuff which is taken out during tomato sauce processing :D So what they are saying (in a very stupid way) is that they used 126g of real tomato weight in production of 100g quantity of final tomato sauce :) I hate 99% of adds as they twist words and meanings in such a way to make even things that are absolutely crap look good and people fall for it as they don't think enough. In this case they wish to make the consumer think (and I think they succeeded in it) they are eating "compresses" quality :D something like... I eat 100g of food but actually it's worth 126g of that same food... ridicilous

  19. Guess what kinda radar every modern fighter and missile uses these days ... yep. Monopulse :) The older type was con-scan or separate azimuth and height-finders. It doesn't display the target 'getting away' (and perhaps the real thing doesn't either, it might all happen in a fraction of a second) but it sure drops the lock - the radar then might try to search in the last known position which is too far. At this point, is the target sitting within the mini-raster that the radar may or may not perform to re-locate the target? Who knows. :) There is a -lot- that isn't, and probably won't be - modelled in terms of ECM and ECCM in LO - and by that I mean in BS, too. Right now, as far as I'm concerned, my -only- problem with the 'ecm blinking' technique is two-fold: a) ECM is human-controlled which is what truly enables abuse, and b) It has a 100% success rate.

  20. I don't even think ECM Blinking (NOISE) would work on a doppler radar. It would just discard the noise as there is no frequency shift. Might help when beaming though. The only reference I've found to ECM Blinking is against monopulse radars. The other methods, range gate pull off etc, listen for the scanning radar for a while then try to induce fake velocity information on the radar returns thus it drags the target away from where it really is. Eventually the scanning radar will get no returns from where it expects the "fake" tgt to be and drop it then pick it up again in the real location and so the process starts again. <- not modelled in Lockon and not equivelent to ECM Blinking by sticking a macro on your joystick. Think the range gate pull off could be modelled well by making making a missile track slightly of a tgt with Music on and maybe taking a couple of seconds to drag the missile out of proximty range once the seeker goes active. Also only letting it handle one sensor at a time, thus if a salvo is fired it might help you escape missile 1 but missile 2 is coming for you.

  24. Wow! Thanks :) To do for next version: - create warning lights (and trimer lights and so on...) - create western style gauges - planning to add some hardware support, for warning lights ;)... maybe output them into serial port, for simple external hardware devices... Thanks Nir for idea! - some code refactoring, will get my time, but in future creating new devices will be more easily for me... Thanks for supporting me ;)

  26. Try increasing the curve on the responses for the joystick in LO's options page - that will reduce touchy-ness around the middle.

  27. IT'S A GAME! Those people who understand reality and it's differences with lomac will always classify this as a game & not a sim when it pertains to air combat. Keep telling the kids that there's nothing wrong with lomac, it's your tactics that need adjustment. Poor missile logic, and radar modeling that's a mere shadow of proper function will skew tactics far distant from real life. Any argument that says in one breath that "lomac gets it right" then ends with "WTF are you complaining about, just fly this way instead & you'll still get the same result" just reinforces that this simulates nothing. Learning tactics that only the stupid (IRL) would try and then translating that to RL or a SIM that models RL closer than lomac will get you virtually killed. If the game forced us to utilize RL tactics, then it wouldn't be a game, now would it?
