  1. In WWII downing a bomber was way more important then downing a fighter simply because a bomber can attack your territory, destroy buildings, kills many people on the ground.. and so on. Disregarding this as "not important" or "unworthy" a kill is not correct... especially if you manage to down a strike aircraft while being in danger yourself from enemy fighters. If you have enemy trying to eliminate your SAM defenses... and you defend from it... I don't know how you can call that not worthy. and don't forget you start implying so many rules to something what should be fun and enjoyable I think will end up making your server reduce its numbers... or how you put it... "popularity" oh and... your server aint "all that" and by the way... I'll say this out loud and I can get banned if they chose so... but last (and lsat) time I flew on this server, when I was shot down and situation was 1 vs 3 and I asked to make sides even (as Blue was way outnumbered) you and your gruop told me to take it and if I want an easy server I should go somewhere else. In RF3 yuo complained about how things were harder for the RedFor and how it wasn't fair... where actually RedFor lost masively because of planning... which reminds me... was your work. So you lost big time fair and square which proves playing on your own gruond (map), on your own server, with good number advantage and scoring a kill where after you expect/demand the person being shot to say "Good Kill" ... does not make you on top of the list as being the best out there... which pretty much everybody knows, is what you think of yourself. You make all these rules and want utter discupline from all to oblige to your rules... and quite frankly I regret giving you a REP for going in alone and doing well in RF3 because even when you fly good and all personal opinions are put to side (which is what I've done when I gave you that REP) you are arrogantly and sometimes a real p**ck... so there... enjoy your server, I hope you get many many fighter kills.

  2. Hi all :) We have been working since last february with a couple of people of friends on a projet called AdA Mod- "Armйe De l'Air" (ie "French Air Force"). The general idea was to : - integrate as much french hardware as possible (Mirage F-1,Mirage IV created by Knell..., AWACS...) - replace the different Mig29s by flyable Mirage fighters - to entirely reskin / resound the Mig29s cockpits, to make you feel as much as possible like flying a Mirage 2000 or F-1 :) Right now, only the pit of the 2000-5 has been completed, but the others are under development. :) And considered the fact that the flight model, the avionic... could not be properly tuned, the result is something like a Mirage 29S or a Mig 2000-5, but we really enjoyed making it :) We hope to be able to make a beta version available at the end of August (we are still working on a big 25+ missions pack : takes a lot of time to create and to type the briefings in french -and- english ) :) Meanwhile, a very nice teaser made by Lothamroth is available here : http://www.lockon.fr/video.php or http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/index.php?section=downloads&subcat=28&file=770&lang=en or on low tube (low res : bad for the text explaining what the mod is all about) http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=P9pK-0QxgII&v3 Hub and the AdA Team :) PS : we spent a lot of time on this project and do not expect anything from it excepted a "thanks guys". Please, do not assimilate our mod with some eventual anti-french feelings or your dislike for Dassault fighters :) :D PPS : a little idea of what to expect :

  4. No, that's just proof of how effective CAS can be when one side has total air superiority. The Allies did the exact same thing to the Wehrmacht in France after the Normandy landings. The A-10 is a superb CAS aircraft. If it wasn't the US govt. wouldn't have extended it's service life. But no matter how good it is, in an environment where the US don't have complete air superiority or large numbers of ground air defence units are still in operation, it's toast. Doesn't matter how good it is, without the right operating environment neither it nor any other low level CAS aircraft will last long enough to do any good.

  6. Thanks !!! :) And about the Rafale, it's more or less under way with a cooperation in progress with other people :) But it sill a looooong shot :) It's your lucky day  !!! Both of my grand mothers are italian !!! :matrix: (I don't speak the language though... real shame...) As a result, I won't ask my cousins from Napoli, Tony and Marcello to take care of you... :D :) :prop: About the beta, I'm not the only involved / able to say yes or no :) I'll ask my buddies (or maybe my cousins... :prop: ) :) Hub.

  7. Hi Colt40Five :) I guess you are not the only one to dream about it :) You can always fly the Mirage 2000s in Falcon (see here), they are pure jewels :) And even if the sims is a bit "outdated" on the graphical side, you can get a -lot- of fun in Air/Air missions : the complex avionic and and the high quality / resolution of the cockpits make you forget those issues. But for ground pounding, it's a bit more a difficult.. (at least for me :) ). We know it's cruel :) But we could not help ourselves :D The 3D models of the 2000 used in our mod are the one from Lockon. I guess there are some template around :) About the black skin of "Les Chevaliers du Ciel", that's a great idea, but we have already one included in the mod :) Yes :) And meanwhile, you can even get a cheaper / simplified version : http://www.flyingmule.com/products/MP-5396

  8. От этого ползунка зависит только уровень случайной ошибки прицеливания. Грубо говоря, при нулевых ошибках прицеливания ракета наводится всегда точно в центр цели, при максимальных - в точки отстоящие от центра цели на определенный радиус.

  9. OMG, always loved good rhetorics. It's what's keeping this retro thread going nowhere but at a steady pace. "You are wrong. -No, you are. -No, you are, times two. -No, I most certainly am not, you are. -Stop acting like a kid. -Me? I'm not acting like a kid. You are! -No, you are.." No, he said that they listed it as "when it enters service". Which means, it was a logical follow-up to the R-27 family and was expected to enter service before it was cancelled (they developed a better missile - the R-77 which probably had better maneuvering capabilities so they ditched the R-27 version). Oxymoron-ama. If it's so, why do we have to read the same thing over and over through 30 pages? They removed it, it's dead, just like The King. Case closed. I hope.

  10. I didn't because I'm sure the A-10 is the most survivable plane out there ... low-level battlefield AD is just too dangerous (Tunguskas) and too numerous (manpads). Up high, above 10k would have been filled with Migs, SU, SA-10s etc ... look at Kosovo - A-10s had to go high and Apaches couldn't work - and that was nowhere near as hot as WWIII! I was just saying that the environment was too hot for any plane to fly - lots of good men(women) on both sides would have died very quickly!

  11. When the circle is flashing, IIRC, the radar has lost lock and is attempting to reaquire. The missile may potentnially not be able to guide at this point, but if lock is re-established there's a chance that the target is sitll where the missile was looking when lock was lost (more or less) and it can reacquire. However, the system might switch from radar to IRST automatically if radar lock is not re-established, in which case your missile should fail to guide.

  12. The mouse is mainly used independant of view now - selecting switches etc.... I use a Hat on my Cougar quite easily to look around. This is just how I do it... others may chime in...

  14. I've had the chance to play through the first 2 missions...I hope you're interested in some constructive criticism...you seem to fall into the trap that a lot of mission designers do, and that is putting way too many units in the mission that have no impact on the mission itself. Units that you never see, and that don't have any interaction with how the mission plays out. For instance the CAPs in both the first 2 missions never interact with the player or each other. All the static units at the player's airbase I understand, but why have other static units (on both sides) that you never see? And all the ground forces on both sides (which you also never see unless you have labels on) aren't even fighting each other, they're just sucking up CPU cycles. In the second mission I edited it to remove everything that didn't affect the mission. The number of units went from 10 pages to 2. When I'm making missions the first thing I ask myself before adding a unit is: "How does this unit impact the player's experience?" Do I even see it? Is it a threat that makes me respond? Just something to think about. Thank you for taking the time to make these missions. The LO community needs all the contributors it can get!
