  1. ok I have decided to release some artwork for people to try and give feedback for this FC release. http://rapidshare.com/files/80840874/Mizzy_s_artwork_for_LOFC.rar.html A very happy new year to you all. Mizzy

  3. I will feel so stoopid if game engine lighting has been covered, but I had to ask, after reading the FAQ, and doing a search (no joy either way). Will exterior and interior lighting changes be implemented? For instance, if sitting in the BS cockpit and rotating the heli from a hover, will I see changing interior shadows and glaring, showing the effect of sunlight (clear day/cloudy day)? In exterior view how will the sunlight be implemented, say while flying along with sunrise at your back? Can it be expected that during rising of the sun, shadows and color of ground objects (buldings, forests, fields, tanks, etc) will change accordingly? You know me. Just trolling for info. Flyby

  5. Hey everybody. I thought I'd share with you my first attempt at making a wallpaper in Lock On... Well, ever for that matter. It features Mizzy's new MIG-25 skin, and is done with nothing more advanced that the blur and smudge tools in GIMP. :)

  6. I'm sorry to contradict you, but IR jammers do indeed exist. One example is the AN/ALQ-212 used on the Apache and Blackhawk helicopters. Perhaps more well-known is the older AN/ALQ-144 "disco light" used on the same platforms.

  7. That is an excellent resource Poko, and even though it's 'old', it is valid for all reticle-seeker missiles (ie. ALL the heaters we have in LO). It is no longer applicable to IIR missiles like AIM-9X and Python 5, Iris-Tm ASRAAM etc By the way, if you understand the nuances of the reticle system, you can probably figure out why launching those things without prior lock is a BAD idea ...

  9. Hello guys! I think i need to reanimate thread. Long time passed after my last post... I haven't got much time, but if i have - i'm upgraiding my mod. See what i have new: MiG-29 with new realistic pyload E-3A's in new paintchemes. Now E-3A included to 3 more countries (Japan, UK, France).

  11. Yes. They'll work. The TempTextures folder is for...well...er...temporary textures. The standard textures for the sim are elsewhere. But the sim checks the TempTextures folder first for the files it needs. Only then does it move on to look for the files it wants in other places. By placing Mizzy's work in TempTextures, the sim uses her textures rather than the default textures. Just for fun, take a look about 1/2 way down the graphics.cfg file (open it with NotePad) in the Config folder. See the line that starts: highFolder = ".\\Bazar\\TempTextures\\"; There are more lines following it. Starting with TempTextures, the sim looks for the textures it needs in the order you see those files listed. Rich

  13. No disrespect intended but if you guys wanna fly with graphics maxxed out and realistic settings maxxed out maybe you should have joined the air force academy and be flying for real rather than pretending to know everything and locking the rest of the paying lockon clients out. Seriously, this quite disrespectful and arrogant imho! No doubt, the people who pay for the servers can do as they please but in the long run the interest for fc will die away. Another thing that is lacking in my opinion is no central fc server such as ubi had with 1.02. I simply don't have the time or interest to adapate to others likings so I think I am going to stick to offline play for the near future where I can control how I play the game.

  15. The first person shooter is the biggest market out there right now. My brother in law go one of the hot games this year for x-mass Call Of Duty Modern Warfare, cool game pretty difficult. If there was a way that a game like that could work with DCS and all the players were networked together some how then you would get many more people interested in flight simulators. Add the fact that you dont have to always be a grunt on the ground, jump into a hummer fire some rockets or call your buddies in for an air strike. The Online Community and Support for DCS would grow. This makes sense from a purely business standpoint.
