Convoy.rar Convoy blue.rar Convoy red.rar1 point

)1 point

The question about hovering and the pop-up attack is an interesting one. I have lately seen various questions about the employment doctrine of the Ka-50, but no really satisfactionary answers. When talking about combat helicopter tactics, most people now seem to look at the lessons learned of least 20 years of real conflicts. While this is certainly correct, it only addresses one half of the medal. We should not forget that the super-powers for the last decades have "only" fought limited wars on a relative low threat level. Don't get me wrong, those wars are full of dangers and people get killed. Yet it is no comparison to the threat level to be expected against a similar equipped enemy. The tactics learned in the Caucasus, Afghanistan or Iraq could quite certainly not be applied against a modern mechanized army under strong air cover. The US combat helicopter doctrine in such a scenario is well known (and would certainly be reapplied should the need arise), unfortunately the Russian one is still a mystery to me. To hover or not to hover seems to be the question. The little I have heard, is that the Mi-24 would have used NOE, high speed, unguided rocked attack runs in the classic Fulda Gap scenario. The Hind was no tank hunter, it was primary armed with rockets to attack defensive positions and troop concentrations. I guess the 4 AT missiles of the Hind would mostly have been used against hardened defensive positions or stationary tanks in battle positions. To me it seems for most of the cold war the soviet doctrine for gunships was to quickly put a large amount of firepower on a specific point and then get the hell out of there. While the Hinds would stay close to the ground in order to survive in such a hostile environment, they would keep their speed high. The Mi-28 and Ka-50 seem to indicate a shift in the way the Soviets/Russian wanted to use their attack helicopters. Both have a strong anti-tank missile armament. In order to use all these missiles, it almost seems necessary for me to do so out of a hover. In in order to hover on a hostile battlefield, pop-up attacks from behind cover (and/or concealment) and a frequent shift of the battle position almost seems like a most for me. While I have no real knowledge about the late Soviet/Russian attack helicopter doctrine (in a mechanized warfare environment), to me it sound plausible they came to the same conclusion as did NATO. I would certainly love to hear more about it, because I plan to fly such scenarios in Black Shark a lot more than the COIN type.1 point

Try this There was a post on this but I cannot find it but I did print it out. 1. click protect.exe with admin rights and select deactivate & click next. 2.On This product requires activation screen enter serial # and press OK. then press AeakTNBNpoatb to start the deactivation. For the next steps you need an internet connection 3. A screen opens warning DCS will be deactivated. and after deactivation you will not be able to use it until you reactivate it. Press the top selection AeakTNBNpoatb Then you get a last warning screen press the top selection marked Aa to deactivate DCS. Then you get another screen with an OK button on the top right and a box on the bottom with a code in it. Write down the code in the box on the bottom, it is your deactivation number and you will need it to reactivate DCS. The next time you activate it use the syntax: Your Serial Number : Deactivation code Here you go : How to deactivate DCS.pdf I think the original post was done by kaos.dll if you have questions. Hope this helps1 point

Regarding trimming, I'm not familiar with how trimmer is working on Ka-50, but I'm very familiar with the Mi-24, and I believe they both work the same way. It is true that during flight pilots have to use trim button all the time. It goes like this (on real helicopters): when you manouvre (change position of cyclick stick) you make series of short clicks on trimmer button till you reach desired position of the stick, and then in that position you press trimmer couple more times to neutralise any possable forces remained on the stick. The other way is to press-and-hold trimmer button, move your stick to desired position, release trimmer, and again press it couple more times to neutralise any possable remained forces. Personaly I was wondering how ED will solve this problem in BS becouse on the real helicopter (I'm talking about Mi-24) with the use of trimmer button, you actualy change current neutral position of the cyclick, so depending on how you have trimmed, cyclick's current neutral position can be moved to all four directions (left, right, forward or backward) relative to, let's say, it’s normal neutral position. It is clear that (except maybe with force feedback joysticks) you can't do that, but I find it very acceptable that when, for example, you accelerate, and your cyclick is pushed forward, so you want to trim it in that position, you press the trim button (on real helicopter cyclick should stay in that position), and in next moment you just let the joystick to get back to it's neutral position - and the helicopter is trimmed to those precise parameters. But with any change of speed or power on the engines, you have to trim it again. And so you do it all the time. On Mi-24 it is forbiden to use trimmer button only during combat manouvers because, if you try to trim with significant forces present on the cyclick, you risk getting your machine in undesirable position and crash. Use of trimmer button is often frustrating thing, especially for young pilots, so it is normal (but wrong) that they try to fly the helicopter "manualy" (without use of trimmer), and belive me, no matter how strong you are, if you try to fly Mi-24 without use of trimmer button, your hand will start shaking very soon. I would like to go back on problems with trim button affecting rudders. On Mi-24 trimmer button is not affecting rudder pedals. I find it wrong that on DCS BS trim is also neutralizing forces on rudders. It is normal that leg muscles are much stronger, and logically less sensitive to small forces than our hands. Therefore I’m having problems feeling where the neutral position on my pedals is. So I find it a bit disturbing that with the press on trim button, besides I have to move my joystick back to neutral, I also have to concentrate to move my pedals back to neutral. That is something that I usually I don’t succeed to do, at least not as precisely as I would like to. Result is always that my helicopter swings a bit to the other side. Therefore I think that it would be useful at least to have possibility to have option to turn off or on rudders from trimming function depending on user’s wish. I hope that my reply was not too long. If it was please accept my apology.1 point

Please note the following:- Distributors worldwide have been chosen to distribute the boxed version of DCS:Black Shark. We will in the next few weeks go code final with the English version, then German, French and Spanish. We then need to get Age Rating cerificates fron ESRB (USA), PEGI (Europe) and USK (Germany). We then need to manufacture, based on sales forecasts from distributors. So realistically we are looking at a launch in Feb/March, depending on which part of the world you live in.1 point

Ok. Im now 100% sure that Saitek X52pro causes ctd's  After re-install i played about 20 missions with my old logitehc joystick. No broblems or crashes. Then i played mission with my x52pro, when i hit the fly button CTD!! . I try couple more times, no luck. CTD. I boot my system and try one more time, now i get to air and when i crash and my chopper blows up...CTD! I plugged my old logitech back and everything works like dream. My friend has just same broblem with his x52pro, and again when he uses other joystick X52 (no pro) no broblems at all. Old or new drives, newinput.dll and so on.... nothing helps It just keeps crashing if x52pro is instaled. In Short: Orginal X52 worksor or any other joystick, X-52pro causes random ctd's.. WTF???? Here is my crash.file and Error file. Many reinstalls -> many deactivations less now. And i still can't play wiht my x52pro hotas. -esa1 point

Update Pitbuilding - 21. October 2008 - Assembly Drawing, Pedals and HUD ... Thank you guys..! It's really cool of you to give positive feedback like you do.. It brings my motivation level back right where it should be.. ! First up I put the drawings of what I have finished building so far together.. Just to see how it looks so far: HUD is courtesy of Wasserfall's beautfull drawings.. Thanx Mate..! Your drawings did the trick for me..! It is build of 3mm Polypropylene plates used for making signes and decorations on shops. I got a plate from a local signmaking industry here at home.. Drawings will be posted when finishing touches are done. Now the whole assembly: .... Don't I look GOOD!!:music_whistling: PEDALS..PEDALS.. PEDALS..! Now todays quiz..! In all helicopters I have sat in I have noticed that the pedals pivot around the point that the heel of your foot touch the floor.. Like this: But the KA-50 seems to have the type of pedals that most fixed wings have..? You know the kind where you slide your feet in a linear motion..? Well to be sure have a look at this picture: Now, knowing that helicopter pilots rearly fly with the pedals centered it became quite clear to me that I was in for some serious cramp after a while.! And however much I scaled up the pictures I had where you got a glimpse of the KA-50's pedals it still puzzles me..! I want to go for the pivoting type pedals, but not if there is a reason for why Kamov have chosen the other linear type? So far I have made the foot-pedals for the linear type: With the holders for ball-bearings just in case I choose to go this way. (Naturally the front of it will have a 2mm Aluminum plate where my feet rest, and a bit of filler and paint is also yet to be added) Feedback guys..! I need feedback..! :music_whistling:.. HPO.. I also need your input on the springloading for the Cannon trigger? I am out of ideas my friend.. I NEED YOU..!1 point
