I present you a little dusk mission with edited screenshots. Sorry for the bad gradients in some of the pics. I didn't realize how bad the compression of Black Shark's screenshot function is before it was too late. Next time I'm gonna use an external program.

Oh dear lol I'm sure physical tank decoys are nothing new. I'm certain that we used rubber tanks in North Africa in WW2 to confuse Rommel. Never considered their application on the modern battlefield, but i'd be grateful for people to stick some more info on here to read. I'm loving the mentions of microwave's for HARMS :) For an IR camera, would the decoys look different? And would the reflection from a laser beam be any different, i.e. noticable? As for the partially veiled nationalism shown by a few characters on here (on both 'sides'), for the rest of us it's a bit embarassing to listen to, to be completely honest. If all of us acted like that it would be a pretty stupid forum, so what makes you so special?

Доброго все времени суток) Цель открытия этой темы - немного оживить радиоэфир в ЧА. Создание виртуальной радиостанции в ЧА довольно нехитрое дело, зато "живой" диапазон в районе полетов создает ощущение населенности прилежащей территории (радиообмен в районе крупных аэродромов и ж/д станций, городские службы и т.п.) К тому же реализм будет достигаться естественным происхождением реплик и фона в этих записях. Исходя из вышесказанного предлагаю: Любому у кого есть эаписи (или ссылки на них) переговоров (НОП, пилотов ГА, ГАИ, ЖД, радиообменов колонн, пехоты и пр. по тематике симулятора) размещать их в этой теме в виде торрентов, ссылок, или готовых файлов (тут надо определиться сколько в распоряжении на форуме места под это дело). Тем самым мы создадим архив трэков для озвучивания статичных радиостанций для тех, кто желает создать свою компанию или усовершенствовать существующие. Сразу хочу внести ясность: записи могут быть любого содержания, не выходящего за рамки тематики. Это прежде всего фон, и записи не обязательно должны подходить на роль "ключевых" источников информации для игрока в ходе проходения компании. Тему озвучки персоонажей компании уже затронул ув. Deosa, и дублировать её не вижу смысла. Требования такие: 1. В названии файла должна содержаться принадлежность абонента (скажем, "ГАИ", "Аєропорт") и краткий комментарий 1-2 слова, для того чтобы их можно было размещать на карте, и не прослушивать, долго выбирая заветную точку привязки. 2. В записях не должно содержаться откровенного бреда, пропоганды, рекламы, анекдотов от Трахтенберга и прочей ереси. 3.По возможности желательно чтобы речь можно было разобрать. 4. По вкусу в архив с треком можно поместить готовый файл с параметрами радиостанции, если у автора есть конкретные соображения по ее размещению, мощности и т.п. Hello to all, I was recently reading a post on this forum bemoaning the KA-50's lack of a Radar Warning Receiver and just had to chime with some information on the differences in deployment of attack helicopter between east and west. The idea of using attack helicopters in a deep strike role is really an American invention pioneered in the 1980s and brought to culmination during the first gulf war. In a famous attack Apaches attacked two radar sites and opened up an air corridor for the subsequent air war in Iraq. This is a prime example of how US helicopters are employed, though of course they are not pigeon holed into such a specific method. The fact remains that the US Army views helicopter aviation primarily as giving the commander the ability to affect the battlespace behind the front lines. Russian helicopter aviation however more closely resembles the usage of attack helicopters by the United States Marine Corps in that they perform the role of close air support of troops near the forward edge of battle area and much less on striking units behind enemy lines. This is as much a doctrinal difference as it is natural progression of tactics since the second world war. Russian aviation has always been a product of tactics used in WWII where aircraft were utilized in a support role to troops on the ground, whereas American airpower has been heavily influenced by the strategic bombing campaign. Of course the changing face of combat in the past decade is heavily influencing tactics on both sides, the basic ideas reflect an institutional difference how each side aproaches the same battlefield. Of course, thats just my 2 cents.

Man this sucks. I found myself taking screenshots from my own cockpit so i could understand the buttons/features better. Viewing them along side the downloadable pdf. There is no way i'm paying for this manual comprised of images in a language i don't understand. It doesn't take much work to get localised images and is to be expected, especially in English. Sorry DSC team, but it seems a bit lazy of you. Shame i was looking forward to this manual.

...think of all the time and effort that has allready been put into the printed manual.. ...now subtract that time and effort from what is going into the patch and / or the A10 , and / or the other modules in play, because thats what this is..ED don't have unlimited resources, and they have us baying at them for everything now and exactly and only as we personally want it! just STFU, buy the manual as is and be greatful they bothered to even do it at all!

I guess I am one of the minoritys here,, so be it. I will say this, I had no intentions of purchasing the sim with Russian labels, so I waited for the English version, because thats the only language I know. So am i disappointed that I can not get a manual that shows the english version of the cockpit labels, of course, for those that suggest investing even more time to learn the russian text, that is your decission, and I respect that. My position is that I bearly can make enough time to learn what I need as the sim is comprehensive enough as it is with out trying to learn Russian text to boot. No disrespect intended here, just stating my position. I am as entiltled to my opinion as you are that oppose my position. If you have more time to add the learning curve to your schedule,,, lucky you. But If you try and convince me that it makes no difference, I will not agree with you, simple as that. I just want to continue to learn how to use this sim, hard copy manual would have been helpfull, especially if the cockpit text was in the only language I understand. I will have to manage without it.

I'm not a native English speaker myself but first thing to made me hard to read the manual was Russian cockpit images on pdf. Actually I gave it up and stuck to training and Producer's notes movies. Like driving car? hey, the complexity of all the switches is uncomparable. I'm a BS fanboy but it really would be fanboish if you tell me to fly in Russian cockpit for realism and read manual with Russian labels.

So, correct me if Im wrong, but if it takes between 4-5 months to release a product to the west + 9 months for development of said module, wouldnt that throw off the timing of each modules by 4-5 months at least? Heres the time line I am seeing: Nov-08 BS Web released April-09 BS Retail released Jan-10 DCS A-10C released June-10 DCS A-10C Retail released Mar-11 DCS-AH-64A web release Aug-11 DCS AH-64A retail release etc... Im just wondering if I am reading this right. If I am reading it right, then its not 9 months in between modules, but 14 months at least.

Did you know that you can load SST profiles on the fly using only the joystick? Press and hold the "i" button (little one in the middle of the small throttle rotary) , then use the main hat switch on the stick to navigate around your directory sctructure (directory and file names will be output in the MFD on the throttle) .. up /down to scroll in directory, left to unload a profile if one is loaded , and right to either go into a sub-directory, or if a profile is highlighted, then it will load that profile! ... select the [..] and press right on the hat to go up a directory level. ...unfortunately thats only good for the X52 and PX52 pro ... havent figured out how to load rudder pedal profiles on the fly. Ti's usefull tho, say for eg. in lomac where you might be flying multiple aircraft type per session..

yes you will have these 'Juddering' (in middle position, not in full position) due to the X-52 sensor quality i fixed the problem by capping à 70% the slider curve so now when i'am at low position (Zoom out) i'am in the default Zoom (like ENTER key) so my slider is never in a middle position. hope it's help best regards Skypat

Without rehashing an old thread: Also might want to look at your joystick....This is a known issue of random crashing for X52/X52 pro users. Not everyone is affected by this but there are many people with this problem. You need to rename or get rid of the file called lua-direct_output.dll in your C:\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\bin\stable (or whereer your game is installed) folder. Personally, I don't see how flying with labels in a language you don't know is "realistic". Sure, in terms of climbing into a real Ka-50 and having a chance of starting it up and taking off, it's realistic. But in terms of you being a Russian national with basic fixed wing flight training, some form of helicopter flight training and more besides under your belt, I feel it's actually UNrealistic to imagine that you aren't already intimately familiar with your native language. Would you watch a foreign language movie with no subtitles for the sake of realism? OK, so that's a little smartarse, sorry. But you take my point. And if you're providing for those of us not interested in learning Russian just to play a game, I think it would be best if there was a PDF manual with the English screengrabs in it. Relative to the huge amount of work put into the sim, it's surely not a big ask. That said, I managed, and I suck! So, so can everyone else.

My Vista installation places these files within c:\users, like this; C:\Users\<INSERTUSERNAMEHERE!>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50 etc etc. So if you're placing your backups into the Program Files folder, Win7 probably isn't reading them from there, but from the above folder.

верно, постепенно стали поддерживать, после того как когда компиляторы поддержали. а потом точно так же произошло с MMX и подобными, и опять таки - массовые игры (демосцену и подобное не рассматриваем) поддерживали новые команды после того, как их поддержали компиляторы. никто игру в ручную асме не расшивал на поддерку сопроца. вот и я жду когда технология и API этих физускорителей "устаканится" придется - признаю ;) а пока я по своим наблюдения и по результатам старой русскоязычной ветки про многоядерность вижу, что в висте нет превосходства над XP при назначении на два ядра.

I've been wondering about this as well. I know that in Falcon, there is a way to modify each command to have a key press for each state of every switch. That way if a switch was in the wrong position it wouldn't matter. For instance: you crash with the landing gear up and respawn on the tarmac with gear down. If you move the switch to the down position it will send the "Gear down" command, but since it is already in the down position the command will have no effect. This way at least things don't get out of synch if you forget to reset a switch, but of course it's still good procedure to go through a checklist to reset all switches before take off, just like real pilots do in pre flight. I don't think this can be done in DCS currently, however. So preflight checks would be even more important. This is why I really, really hope they implement an option to start each mission on the ramp, cold and dark."

Dear Lars, i dont think you understood what i meant.... probably it is my fault i havent described it well (my bad english) anyway What i meant is....that NOW i have a console with all the keys of the LOMAC in switches and pushbuttons. What i want to do (and i WILL) is a pit like yours...... Not as accurate as yours but -i want to believe- close to yours. so i want to know how you are going to make all these switches to return to their correct position after a crash landing for instance. I have see some switches like magnetic ones that with right polarity can be returned by themselves back. But i have heard their prices about $65 each. Insane amount if you can say that you will use them in every switch in B.S. please see this about magnetic switch I already bought(4 months ago) almost ALL the cards from the opencockpits. so i want to ask again how are you gonna face this problem with the switches ? thanks again for your time stelios Ps awesome work as always
