  1. Now that Flaming Cliffs 2.0 is on the horizon, I decided to start an experiment to see if it is possible to have several multiplayer game servers join forces and upload their logs to a common stats page. To make the experiment successful, all game server admins that join the project must agree on how scores are computed, how events are awarded and how, in general, the stats page is maintained. If all participating admins can reach agreement on this, it should pave the way to implement a common stats page for FC2.0. Furthermore, it will allow more people working on and improving the stats page. To this end I have invited 4c, 3Sqn and the 104th to participate with the 51st in this experiment, and use the 51st stats software as a starting point for the common stats page. All of these squadrons have generously provided me with some of their multiplayer logs, and I have adapted the 51st stats engine and webpages to work multiplayer data from multiple servers. The webpages are now able to display data from single servers, as well as all servers combined. For the moment, the common stats page is located at: http://www.51st.org/common/ At present it shows statistics on three separate pages, air-to-air, air-to-ground, and overall (air-to-air and air-to-ground combined). A point based scoring scheme is used, and the scoring system of the 51st is used: http://www.51st.org/stats/rules.html (Note that the bonus points for kills on 51st pilots have been removed). This thread is meant to provide comments and suggestions on how to improve the common stats page and make it into a success. I would like to stress that as the common stats page is an experiment, it will exist next to the already present stats pages.

  3. With a bit of internet search I am finally able to change any Options in LockOn menu and still keep propper aspect ratio of 1.6 for widescreen monitor and TrackIR problem of stopping working. Here is a sweet solution :D In main LockOn folder there should be a file called lockon.bat. Edit this file and add following lines: @echo off change.com D:\Lock-On\Config\graphics.cfg "aspect = 1.333333373" "aspect = 1.6" Del /f/q Config\TrackIR Del /f/q Input\TrackIR.ini start C:\WINDOWS\Procaff.exe /run 2 "D:\Lock-On\LockOn.exe" exit I think it's quite obvious what the 4 lines of code will do... 1. will reset the aspect ratio from default 4:3 to 10:6 2. will delete TrackIR file from Config folder 3. will delete TrackIR.ini file from Input folder 4. will start LockOn itself on 2nd CPU core* *If you don't use multi core CPU just use "start LockOn.exe" insted. Also the original LockOn.bat file had a line start deleteobsoletefiles.bat which I don't think you need (I just deleted that line). Now, you will only need to get two files: 1. Procaff.exe utility add it to C:\WINDOWS folder download here: http://www.stefan-kuhr.de/procaff/main.php3 2. Change.com utility add to main LockOn folder download here: http://www.golden-triangle.com/CHANGE.ZIP I tested it already and it's working like a charm  I've changed the shortcut poiting to LockOn.exe file to this LockOn.bat file... which will in turn reset aspect ratio to 1.6, then delete the 2 TrackIR files, then start LockOn on core 2. So any time I wish to change something in LockOn Options menu within the game itself, this is no longer a problem where I'd have to manually go into each folder and file and make these changes myself... I don't have to do anything... I just restart LockOn via this same shortcut... and things are already set up the way I want them :smartass:

  4. ^^^^ Yes, what Bob said but to answer your question LOMAC is required for LOFC, so in case of going after it you should buy and install Lock On:modern air combat (1.0), buy and install Flaming cliffs (1.1) and download freeware patch 1.12a or 1.12b.

  5. I had two cataracts, one was removed a couple years ago, the other one is checked every year. Tomorrow, it is checked. They put drops in my eyes... So, if they release it tomorrow, I hope the damned drops wear off so I can install FC 2.0 and fly! :pilotfly:

  7. bear in mind gaming perfomance in most reviews is restricted to FPS's almost exclusively, which being graphics limitated are poor measurements for CPU's perfomance.

  11. CRAP! CRAP! And I thought it was "improved"? How many vehicles are you talking about? Static? Moving? Sorry to ask, but ka-50 is a bit boring to me and never bothered to play much or follow DCS section (apart from some stuff).

  12. Definitely yes...if mission is advanced with large amount of ground units and AI aircrafts (especially with that deam F/A-18 who is attacking frienlyes all the time :D) things can be very bad...

  15. This old sound bug is due to directx implementation in windows Vista onwards. Specific creative card fix is to download "alchemy" app from creative. Oh, and is anyone else becoming tired of hearing the "$30? How dare they" posts? They have replaced the "$15? How dare they?" posts, which themselves evolved from the "FC2.0? How dare they", which came from the primordial soup of plain and simple "publish software we enjoy? How dare they". We get that a few people are upset by everyday occurrences, (which most of us deal with on a day to day basis without wiping spittle off our chins), like the economy, deadlines, inflation, shifting timescales, having to actually pay people to work for you, adding features and content and having the affront to charge for such things, but to quote the wise Homer J. Simpson; “Money can be exchanged for goods and services”. To wit, if you don’t want to pay then please leave the queue. You are getting good value here. :D

  18. Life is unfair Man up and deal with it... how many hours did you put in to Flaming Cliffs? I reckon you've already got your money's worth. Everyone wants something for nothing. Christ.

  19. Don't feel bad. Feel happy that all those people who may have not have FC will now maybe get a copy. We'll have more players overall for multiplayer etc. The $15 you payed for FC is really a worth while investment for the hours you use it until FC2 is released.

  20. I was thinking of Sega/ETW and Ubisoft/SH5 to name a couple of the more infamous examples. To this day, ETW will not run on my system because of the bugs, and they released DLC before they resolved the major bugs, which didn't necessarily affect the troubleshooting process, but was nonetheless insulting to the numerous folks who couldn't play the game at all. Then they abandoned it altogether and moved on to NTW about one year later, leaving behind a broken mess and a mass of disgruntled long-time customers. And assuming the SH series survives the OSP debacle, it's pretty obvious Ubi is going to release new subs and campaigns that should have been part of the game in the first place as "add-ons" to an obviously unfinished game. I think DLC is fine for an MMO or RTS or FPS, but not so much for a study sim. It should be complete in itself when released. If other folks want to release third party add-ons, so much the better, but I would hope the developers don't adopt the strategy of releasing games in a piecemeal fashion. In any case, it seems technically infeasible and inconsistent with their business model IMHO.

  25. Hey, once again thanks for the support! I will consider .png format (which is ~130MB) if it provides a better quality. Garfieldo and Brit_Radar_Dude, off course that your information are of great help. Still I’m hoping that there is a way to find precise info of locations of those objects (something like .lua file with their coordinates). If not, I will consider other options. NDBs from Beacons.lua are already on the map. Crunch, I see your point, and I think you are right because most of the MP missions you can find on servers today are, let’s say, preplanned. So it depends on in which direction we will develop MP missions after FC2.0 and next DCS modules. I think we would add realism, fun and excitement if we put more accent on A-FACs and scouts and on-alert strikers and fighters. In that case if you are striker called in an area which you didn’t have enough time to study, I believe it would be very helpful to have few extra references on the map. After all, once again, if we get precise info of those objects, I will try to put them on the map. If it’s overloading it, then I can take them out. We will see. It is also good idea to have a “full-screen” version of the map for general orientation using alt+tab. Soon as I finish this one I will consider making one. Great JimMack! PM incoming! I think that a simulator like DCS BS deserves to have hard copy map. Let’s do it! :pilotfly:
