MP Mission: "FOB Vetka" Over the past month, insurgent forces have taken a foothold in the northern mountain regions. Forward Operating Base (FOB) Vetka is under increasing sniper and mortar fire each day, and SIGINT sources indicate an attack on FOB Vetka could be imminent. This afternoon, a friendly resupply convoy, call sign Yankee 61, was enroute to FOB Vetka but experienced mechanical delays. At this time Yankee 61 is again moving up valley but will not make the FOB by nightfall. With recent insurgent activity in the valley, contact should be expected. ------------------------------------------ TASK 1. Meet up with friendly convoy Yankee 61 near the town of Ambrolauri (WP1) and provide CAS, if needed. Yankee 61 will be contacting you once on station. TASK 2. Proceed to FOB Vetka (WP2) and remain on station for CAS, if needed. Texaco is available north of Kutaisi, 150.0 AM, TACAN 10X. Overlord (AWACS) is available on 124.0 AM. Emergency CAS mission with 10,500 ft cloud cover. Requires heavy use of Mark I eyeball, rockets, guns, and efficient communications between flight members. *** NOW UPDATED TO v2.0 *** - current for DCSW 1.1.1.0 - minor edits/fixes - major tweaks to second portion of the mission http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/99420/1 point

Hey all, Responding to a few requests on how I made my caution panel. Here's the process. 1. I cut out the parts for the indicator panel from .0625" black acrylic. 2. These are then glued together. 3. I cut out the indicators themselves from .125" green acrylic. I use the masking tape to hold them in place for painting and then gluing into the panel. 4. I put one coat of black paint on the indicators, then glue them into the panel. Next I spray on a couple coats of black onto the assembled indicator panel. 5. The indicators are then engraved. 6. I cut out a "diffuser" panel from .0625" white acrylic and then using a mask, paint the edges black. 7. Next I cut out the two pieces that form the bezel. These are cut from .125" clear acrylic and then glued together and painted black. 8. Next part is the panel the holds the LED's. This is cut from .0625" black acrylic. The holes allow me to use LED holders to insert the LED's into. 9. I cut out the baseplate from .125" clear acrylic, then glue it and the LED holder panel together and paint. The picture of the finished part is from the bottom side showing how these are assembled. 10. After everything is painted and engraved, all parts get a couple clear coats sprayed on. 11. Everything is assembled And here's a couple pics of my panel side by side with a real caution panel. The text on my panel is not that visible, the camera flash is just lighting it up.:)1 point

Operation Pilot Search V2 is a remake of Quirkitized Pilot Search mission. The mission is a 17 player MP mission (13 A-10c & 4 KA-50's). * Due to size of mission file, you may have longer load times when entering MP server * * Edit: Updated to 1.2.6 version The mission includes custom voice sound files which should enhance the players experience. Appx. 30 custom voice files were created for this mission! Special thanks to Quirkitized for making such a great mission and my buddies below for providing the great audio. Warning: The mission does contain strong language! Sound File Roster: Ranger79 as "Victor-61" Qazme as "Juliet-22" Cobrabase as "Command One" Gharness as "Victor-62" This is my first attempt at creating/editing a mission in DCS. Please leave feedback regarding bugs, likes, dislikes, and suggestions. Mission difficulty is Medium. MISSION DESCRIPTION: A friendly F-15E has been shot down conducting a recon mission near enemy territory. You are a member of Hawg Flight and you must provide CAS/CSAR. We need to bring the two F-15E pilots back home, alive! You must clear a WP before the next becomes active. NOTE: Friendly: GREEN SMOKE Enemy: WHITE SMOKE SAM Altitude hardcap: 12k ft. (WP1) Secure Crash Site: Downed F-15E location. The enemy has setup a large perimeter around the crash site, neutralize all enemy targets. Once complete. Juliet-22 (ground forces) will secure the site. Stay on station for orders. (WP2) Rescue Pilot 1 (Victor-61): With Pilot 1 located at a near city, take out any and all threats. Once WP2 is secure, two Blackhawk Helicopters (callsign Springfield) will perform a CSAR. Stay onboard for orders. (WP3) Friendly Airfield (Krasnodar-Center) - Re-arm/Re-fuel here if you do not wish to RTB for it as this airfield is closer. (WP4) Rescue Pilot 2 (Victor-62): With the first pilot safe, we need to rescue Victor-62. Intel reports indicate he may be held captive at WP4 at the enemies command center, this area is HEAVILY guarded by low-altitude SAM & AAA. Neutralize all threats. (WP5) Evac - Possible egress location of Victor-62 (Pilot-2). Stay frosty! Friendly Assets in the Region: **ALL A/C on FREQ: 135.00 AM** - CVN-70 Carl Vinson (US Carrier) - AH-64's (ATG) Uzi-11 - CH-53E's (Transport) Pontiac-11 - F-15C's (CAP) Dodge-11 - E-2D (AWACS) Darkstar-11 Helpful Tips: 1. Last night... on the 74th Flying Tigers Server... operation Samson... Me and a bunch of Hogs just about cleaned the Samson area (after heavy losses due to the SA-11 battery in "Death Star" mode)... ...suddenly the Ops warns about a pair of hostile Mig-23s, incursing the area of operation... Recalling a sentence from the briefing about two Migs captured by the enemy, i frantically scanned the skies... These two start taking names the minute they entered missiles range... In what seemed like a couple of seconds there were three A-10s plummeting down... Luckily, when the frenzy started I was a little further to the shore at 10000ft, evaluating the new target area that was open after cleaning the Samson task... Migs went pass me... I followed their smoking trail of destruction, anxiety & rage mixing in my head... uncaged Sidewinders... As soon as I got tone my missile went off but this sneaky Mig went up for the clouds stepping on flares and afterburners... The fourth Hog managed to fire an AIM-9 just before he ate an Aphid (R-60), thus taking one of the dreaded Migs with him... It was me & him now... I climbed up through the cloudbase, blind... just praying for a tone in the direction I thought the beast was headed last... Then I hear another Hog taking the fall, nearer to the base... Damn they were fast, bloodthirsty... like wolves storming a sheep herd... I descend back down through greyness, just to witness the last of my bretheren being shred apart by the Mig's guns... Was I the last sheep, or the sheperd... I don't know... but my squealing Sidewinder seeker pointed to the smoking remnants of the last fallen Hog told me the big bad wolf was coming... head on... I clutched the weapons release, missile went woooosh and a second later it was me again, all alone wandering the skies... with just a hurting memory of my lost brothers and a picture of a Mig-23, plummeting down in pieces... Tacview Record Download At 1:10:00 after the destruction of the last armour the Mig act starts...1 point

CK01000809 or CK10000809 should do it, unless you've stumbled upon something entirely new. In fact, it's gotte be CK10000809, as the simulator would as far as we know output CK01000809 as CK100809, leaving you seriously up manure creek without a paddle.1 point

Since when is that their goal? ED's goal is to make money and I can tell you right now a Blackhawk sim wouldn't move many copies for precisely the reason I said unless there was something extremely special about it - and I'm not thinking 'special' in the realm of simulated reality. Special as in the only way I can imagine your average sim consumer seriously wanting to spend money on it would be to greatly dramatize the entire thing (think Black Hawk Down). Additionally the problem with any infantry-centric helicopter is the fact that DCS's implementation and handling of ground combat is not its strong suit. A simple helicopter like a Blackhawk might be "quick" to implement, but I doubt that - there's still a ton of research and even something crude like a Blackhawk has several dozen switches to flip and its own avionics suite. Additionally, to implement something that literally does almost nothing except carry infantry around without greatly improving the entire 'ground' aspect both in terms of visual fidelity and infantry would just make it feel soulless. Compare flying a helicopter over Chernarus in ArmA2 to the KA-50 and you see what I mean... WWyyiLFRTN4 xR5tEFBkeZw1 point

Longer versions of those answers ;-) 1) when you turn on CDU and EGI, EGI takes about 4 minutes to align. You cannot move until the process is finished, otherwise your navigation system won't be accurate and you won't be able to turn on EAC. You will know when the alignment is complete: on CDU there will be flashing text: 'INS NAV READY' and few lines below you will see this number: 4.0.0.8 2) For the ILS steering bars to be shown, you have to enable them, they are disabled by default. You can do this on Navigation Mode Select Panel (NMSP) by switching the Stow switch to ABLE position (that's the same panel where you turn ILS on).1 point

Connect the 3 terminal because the BU0836 is measuring the voltage at the middle of a voltage divider created by the pot. The two external connector need to be wired to +5v and GND respectively, the middle connector (the wiper) need to be connected to the analog input. The old pot wiring of the Suncom was by a joystick port/soundcard and these measured the resistance between one external terminal and the middle terminal.1 point
