There seems to be quite a few real-life pilots in the forum, and I'm a bit curious about how you percieve filght simulation. Does flight simulation provide a good base for understanding real aerial combat? And (the usual question) do they "feel real"(As sensed through eyes and ears of course)? Are the flight simulators used in real flight training keeping up with development (physical modelling, aerodynamic effects etc.)? What's the most/least impressive with present day flight sims from a pilots point of view? I'd really like to try a training simulator one day (not to mention the real thing), using "real" instruments and controls, a civillian one would be great too. Perhaps the joystick manufacturers should wake up and start selling full cockpits mounted in a centrifuge for G-effetcs. And all in one simple USB connection!

Hello, When I'm close to ending a mission, I sometimes get a shaking vibration and the helo is pulled down aground. Care to explain, and how to counteract this?? If the document is to complicated and "42" too simplified for you.. read this: Vortex Ring State (VRS) in short: If you enter a Vortex Ring State you have to move the rotor-disk out of this zone . To do this: 1. Don't rise the collective ( counter intuitive - but the right thing to do - If you raise it it will make the vortex even bigger that is surrounding you...) 2. Gain horizontal speed by tilting nose down (also counter intuitive but the right thing to do -yup! that's how the physics work in our universe - you cant fool "God" - If you try ...you will fool yourself.. ) 3. When above 60Kmh horizontal speed -stabilise level-flight and raise collective You will often enter a Vortex Ring State when you are in Hover above ground and descending quicker (about 6-8m/s in BS) than your own down-wash of your rotor - means: You are "falling" into your own down-wash and your top of the rotors are sucking the same air again and again... - so there is a vortex-ring around you. - that will provide no lift at all - if you will stay in this ring- you will only produce the biggest smoke-ring you have ever seen - and this will probably also be the last thing you have seen in your life... . so once again: collective down - nose down -keep calm - and "god" (for atheists: the physics - and for a Italian Rome-katholic sure good and physics are the same ) will help you to survive! Tip: Fire up DCS-BlackShark and gain some altitude and train this recovery manoeuvre - and watch your altimeter when you drop down! This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. That is me, I had great fun doing that. What is state of the art changes though and when I complete my current set up, I will put another video up to show the progress and hopefully inspire others. Re the Cadet Controls, we don't actually ever get any second hand and todate no broken units at all. The resolution of this setup is 5400x1920. I currently use the 5x1 portrait setup fitted to a custom stand with castors which we made inhouse. The 6th screen of the Samsung MD230x6 setup is used as an instrument panel. I am getting a water jet cut aluminium overlay made, to finish it off.

i flew a little bit this morning to try the modded NVG, and i think that is more similar to real life, and also much funny, because now to see somethings at 11 o'clock now you must turn the head at 11 o'clock. I add two black lillte dot on upper left side of NVG, for simulate a damage photocathodes, a common state for this type of gear, that not compromise the final efficiency of NVD. Thx a lot Bye bye

Hi Crash, ich mache mich jetzt mal bei dir unbeliebt und gebe dir die Standard-Antwort, die man zu diesen Fragen hier im Forum bekommt: Wenn er fertig ist. ED hat noch keinerlei Infos veröffentlicht. Aber vielleicht werden sie ja weich und geben einige Infos frei, nachdem diese Fragen nun zum 2.793,5 Mal gestellt wurde. element1108 called it, no XBOX fanboy will know what 'janes' is about. Why bother even buying the game although I do have a theory. Tom Clancy was kind of good name for certain games, so they added his name to HAWX to try and create a bit of credibility, looks like they are (trying to) do the same with Janes and another abortion. Is it possible to make an aircraft sim on a console without a special controller, Lock On probably had the least keystrokes, could you do that on a joypad?
