For the mission designers: The last couple of weeks I've been digging through field manuals and online resources to find info on "realistic" battalions/groups/platoons/batteries/... The result is a mission file with more than 30 different battalions, batteries, platoons,.... For the ease of deployment in missions, larger groups are divided in subgroups, so you can deploy a single platoon out of a battalion if you want. Most groups are just a line-up of all units needed in that group, so exact unit placement is up to you. Other groups are already placed in a setup like found in the online resources. Same goes for some subgroups. Different variants are available where appropriate. In infantry platoons, some of them have the soldiers themself in a separate group. Leave out if not needed, duplicate if more are needed. Obviously, DCS does not have all vehicules available that are needed to make it 1 on 1 realistic. So, non existing vehicules are replaced by simular units or left out. Used my imagination here. Also included, is a farp template, what allows you to place a group of vehicles that are outlining a farp structure if zoomed in completly in the editor. Handy to place the farp on a exact spot, or to place units on the farp. Once done, place the FARP structure itself on the central unit, which is another type for easy recognition. Download HERE. In the download are a .miz file what can be used to ad the groups to your own templates, a templates.lua file to simply replace your templates and a pdf with all groups in it. My latest Combined Forces Mod V2.0 for DCS:A-10C Warthog 1.1.1.0 and DCS:Black Shark 2 available at Lockonfiles. http://www.lockonfiles.com/index.php/files/file/2122-combined-forces-mod/ - All mod aligned to DCS A-10C and BS2 either. - All Textures converted to dds format for a better performance Contain the following elements: 9P148 BRDM-2 Mobile ATGM Missile Launcher v1.3 - High detailed multi LOD 3D model + different skins for all season - Fully animated launch sequence - The unit can launch five missile between 1min. Full reload time 2min. - New 9M113M Konkurs missile 3D model and new missile characteristic - The vehicle able to start launch missile +-95 degree and 75-4000m far from their base direction. If their selected target out of this limit the unit won't start the attack. - Target distance Radar: 75-4.000m 1S91 "Straight Flush" Radar + 2P25 "Kub" TEL v1.2 - High detailed multi LOD 3D model + different skins for winter - Fully animated - Target distance Radar: 1-70km, Launcher: 1-50km 9A52-2 Smerch MLRS v1.3 - High detailed multi LOD 3D model + different skins for winter and autumn - Enhanced 9M55 missile cluster warhead - New launcher tubes shape and launcher and rocket 3D coordinates are reworked - The reaction time is set to 120s instead of the original 100s - Launcher traverse horizontal movement changed to +-30° instead of the original +-60° - Target distance: 20-70km 8K14 Scud-B Launcher v1.3 - High detailed multi LOD 3D model + different skins for all season - Fully animated launch sequence - Corrected MAZ-543 chassis data - The Scud missile characteristic changed as real as possible, but some things are limited and hardcoded in this case the missile do some silly maneuver sometimes, so be careful. - The Scud only able to start launch missile +-25 degree from their base direction. If their selected target out of this limit the unit won't start the launching sequence. - The Scud replaced the non-active Uragan MLRS. In this case the Scud missile have been recognized as a simple MLRS missiles and doesn't start like at real Scud missile. And the SAM patriot unit won't shoot it of course. - The typical Scud missile erector and launch preparation sequence is ~4-8min and it depends on the target distance. (near = less time; far = more time) So if you recognize the launcher you have 4-8min to eliminate it. - Target distance: 20-300km Uaz-452 Truck, Bus, Ambulance v1.0 - High detailed multi LOD 3D model Zil-131 PR-14 SA-3 Pechora Missile Loader Truck v1.2 - High detailed multi LOD 3D model New Russian UB Rocket Pods v2.0 - UB-13, UB-32, B-20, B-8V20 - High detailed multi LOD 3D model - High detailed weathered textures BRDM-1 Armored Recon Vehicle v1.0 - High detailed multi LOD 3D model + different skins for winter - Working and animated machine gun - Target distance: 50-1.000m D-30 122mm Howitzer v1.0 - High detailed multi 3D model - Recoil effect - Target distance: 50-10.000m R-37 missile for MiG-31 - New 3D model with animated rear wings - R-37 is added for Mig-31 loadout 9M17 Falanga AT-2C Swatter ATGM Missile + Launch rail for Mi-24V - High Detailed 3D model and skin - Accurate Missile characteristic - The Mi-24V can launch against maximum two missile in same time between 500-4000m launch distance. The following 3D models made by ED I only reactivated or changed their settings as well. Mi-24V - Corrected outer pylon entries - Added the missing searchlight in left side - Assed Falanga missiles for loadout - You can insert two type of GUV 8700 container to Mi-24, but unfortunately doesn't firing. Both of them are only a static pod yet. Mi-8 - Heli category changed from Transport to Attack helicopter - Added UB blocks for loadout PT-76 - Basically the PT-76 deactivated by dev's. Now I reactivated again. - Target distance: 10-1.500m BMD-1 - The BMD-1 main gun 2A28 GROM deactivated by dev's. Now I reactivated again. - Target distance: 10-1.500m5 points

С ув. andy_drive2 points

Been waiting for quite a while to be able to finish my v2.1 of the Helios panel for A-10C and with the latest version, released just last night, I can finally call it complete. What do you think? Helios Front Panel. In sim front panel shot at the same moment. Both the Helios software (which is donation ware) and my profile (free of charge of course LOL) available at www.scsimulations.com These shots show the front instrument panel but in my profile there are 8 hidden pullout panels for Left and Right console, Radio panel, Airport Chart panel, UFC, TISL panel, CDU and Warning Panel, and Lighting Panel. You can view all of these in the A10C download section of the Helios site. Just look for the file Loz SM v2.1 If you like the look of it and you have a spare monitor to run it on then I cannot recommend Helios highly enough. A great addition to both this and Black Shark.1 point

Right, please guys, let's not belabour the whole criticism thing. It won't bring this thread forward. As alawys, if anyone has complaints regarding moderator behaviour, please contact a community manager (Groove or EvilBivol-1).1 point

I simply got no time to wait on those Air Force guys to perform a SEAD... So I go in.... I issue a warning on the enemy's guard channel first, saying I'll find them if the fire a SAM at me. If they are foolish enough to fire at me, I perform the following procedure: 1. Make a quick note of which one of them dummies fired at me... 2. Deploy countermeasures as dictated by the RWR 3. Open the canopy to improve my SA of the area and keep my eye on that Lil bugger 4. Perform some maneuvers to make that dumb missile think he's got me 5. When the SAM is about 100 yards away, I take out my .45 an shoot that sucker right in his IR tracker Works .05% of the time...1 point

Still don't get what does "The Fighter Collection Simulation Engine" has to do with propellers. In here http://www.thebattlesim.com it says it is integrated in Lock on. Damned crop-dusters... Why lose time and resources for one of them instead of investing them into DCS Fighter? When you draw the line which one will be sold more? Yeah that's right :) I mean just look at that in the TFC site: http://fighter-collection.com/pages/aircraft/nimrod/index.php no doubt it has its fans but come on are you really gonna buy and play DCS Crop-duster?1 point

Активность как измеряется? Количеством постов в треде или килограммами? ЕД уже в курсе что проверка как в ГС2 - курам насмех, повторять это через пост аки попугаи не вижу большого смысла.1 point

First post updated with download link (http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/136413/) That was fast. Fire, The download contains a mission file where are the groups are in, so you can add them to your templates. For those who don't have any templates on their own, could use the templates.lua file of me, overwriting their local file (backup first!). Path for that file is %userprofile%\Saved Games\DCS Warthog\MissionEditor1 point

A-10 electrics.pdf1 point

I work with Computer Vision as a graduate researcher. I'm more an end-user of CV tools than a developer of novel techniques, but my impression is: Computer vision is painfully slow. TrackIR and other marker-based systems make it faster by giving the computer a much simpler task ("find the 3 or 4 brightest objects in this scene, ignoring everything else, and then recover their orientation given known relationships between them" vs "Find a thing that looks like a face in this video image, and figure out what orientation it is in based on subtle cues that vary from person to person"). I am skeptical that Kinect-based approaches can match the speed/accuracy of marker-based solutions in the near future, although the depth buffer should allow better speed/accuracy than pure CV solutions like the PS3 GT5 setup, or FaceTrackNoIR.1 point

Okay, I'll try my hand at a visual explanation. The first image is at a low angle of attack. The flow around the wing is nice and smooth, and thus stays "attached" to the wing over the vast majority of its travel distance. In the second line, the wing is at a high angle of attack, but without slats. The air by itself doesn't have enough energy to "make the turn" around the leading edge of the wing. The flow separates and becomes turbulent. This turbulence propagates towards the engines, and they throw a fit. In the last line, slats are added, which help turn the flow onto the upper surface of the wing. The flow stays attached for longer, and the engine is happy. So, in a word, slats allow a given wing to fly at a higher angle of attack without flow separation, which is what constitutes a stall.1 point

The first file has a lowered floor section under the seat, version 2 has a level floor all the way back. Front extension cut layout 4x8 **Update** this module is fixed using .703" thickness for birch plywood, and .005" spacing All module cut layouts are designed for a 4'x8' sheet of 3/4" nominal plywood (.703 actual). I recommend using a 1/8" bit for drilling, and up to 1/4" bit for cutting. Joinery can be done with glue, drilling directly into the material, bolting through, metal corner brackets and tie plates, cross dowels, or a combination of those methods. Pilot holes are pre-positioned for all of those methods. **TERMS OF USE** By downloading any of these files, you agree to the following terms and conditions: y2kiah's A-10C Cockpit Plans is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License.1 point
