  1. It was I who decided that we should have the Red Tails with Afro-American pilots. I do not think the question was rude. I think it shows respect to the Afro-American community.

  2. Hello, I spent today looking at pedia, trying to get missing wingspan diagram from the manual, which happen to be in the training brochure of P-47M Thuderbolt. I was not satisfied, at least because not all aircrafts fall into that trio. So, I checked in-game pedia, and noted, sorted and converted all metric spans for US/Russian aircrafts in game, to feet. But in order to verify, I need you guys to fly this mission I've attached, and use the values from the table for the aircrafts. I'm not sure if the encyclopedia is accurate, but it's a start.. All feedback is welcome

  3. Sorry guys, I'll start first by saying if this post offends anyone then apologies, but it's something I feel I need to say. Quite frankly I'm shocked by some of the posts that are being directed at Ed on here. These Guys and Gals have been working hard, to bring us a fantastic Sim world. Not only have they given time and effort to provide us with one of the best helicopter sims we have ever seen on a home pc. They then turned Round and gave us the best sim I've ever see, the wonderful A10 Warthog. Now not only are they spending time and effort to produce us yet another amazing aircraft, yet to be announced, but we do know it's coming. But not only that, they have also given us a stunning P51 and turned round and made a true effort, to finally bring us one complete world, to allow us to fly all the different aircraft together. Not to mention, the ground units they also producing while all this is going on. But how do some of us at home thank them. No thanks no well done, No we turn round and complain that the FREE aircraft provided dosnt have a clickable cockpit, or Moan because they can't read our minds and pull our dream aircraft out of a hat. Or even moan about them wasting their time producing ww2 aircraft when we have no idea what the long term plan or even resources are. Is it just me, who thinks we should be greatful for whatever turns up. Producers are going away from the pc as it is. We have precious few developers happy to provide us with stunning sims as I'm sure theres not that much money in it. Most places just want a quick buck so just push out tried and tested games. Here we have a producer who not only can produce some of the best sims we have ever seen. They are one of the best teams to communicate with their fans, rather than ignore the forums. So come on guys and gals, while I appreciate those that are vocal in their moaning are in the minority here. I really don't think we have anything to moan about. We need to see just how lucky we are in the way we are treated by Ed. They are like I said one of the best customer focused teams out there. So please rather than complain that our FREE aircraft isn't 3D or your favourite aircraft isn't being produced or even if you don't want to fly aircraft from a certain time frame. Instead of biting the hand that feeds you, take a step back and see what the potential is. If you don't like a said module, well no one is forcing you to buy it. However if you want to support Ed then, buy it and treat the cost as an investment. Hell I don't think I've flown 60% of the aircraft I've bought for ROF. But I love the potential so I invest in the company. Just the same way I do for Ed. So Ed from me, may I say a Hugh thanks to the entire team, and please keep up the great work, although it may not seem it at times. It is appreciated. And for those still here, thanks for sitting and reading this slight rant. Just needed to get it out there. Cheers for listening. Cowboy10uk

  5. Well, people do fly alone in single seaters... FC2 isn't DCS :) That's the purpose of two seater, bringing people together.

  8. I used to host an open server all the time but lately I have found that there are tons of "kids" that will come on, take off, buzz the airbase and then when they get bored will just launch a AIM-9 right at you and then just quit. Plus with the missions I have written you almost always need to be on teamspeak to coordinate attacks, etc.... so I will always password my server with the phrase "password on TS" and then put the TS addy/info in the server name or in the description. So yea if you dont do a little "leg-work" you wont be able to join the server, but I have no problem giving out the password, so long as you are on TS. Plus most of those "team-killers" wont bother to go onto TS to get the password. So it works out much better for everyone on the server. Plus having fellow pilots on TS, talking and interacting and conversing is much better for the community then just a bunch of lone wolf running around server hopping.

  10. I am working on a new version of the application. For now I am testing some GUI to be able to implement the DCS world series and to have something similar for android 2.1 to 4.0.x (like the action bar & co), and also to have a better UI on tablets. It can't be a full time job, so it will take a while sorry... The bigger change is that the new app will no longer be a free app, mainly due the time I will put in it, but also to be able to buy hardware for developing and playing DCS ;). It also cost money to put an app on markets... So I will try to make my best to make the application available soon with checklists for Warthog, Black Shark, and P51, even if all will not be 100% perfect at the first release.

  12. Hi badger66 If you're referring to the cycle timer (the small bar that moves up and down on the right), my understanding is that it provides the pilot with visible feedback on how the system is operating. In a high threat environment with many emitters broadcasting, the cycle time will slow down indicating that it requires more time to process all the signals its receiving. I hope that helps

  17. Tracks are known to have problems. When you playback a track, the game is actually running the mission again, with your aircraft's inputs being provided by the data recorded in the track file rather than by your controller. Pretty much everything else is re-calculated/re-simulated. There's two basic issues with this: sometimes the track doesn't properly record (particular?) events, so the track can diverge from reality - the longer the track is, the more likely you're going to run into this in a visible manner. Second, if you play a track back on a different version of the program than it was recorded on, different things may occur due to changes in the engine. For example, if the flight model changes then even if the track correctly applies precisely the same inputs at the same time, the aircraft's behaviour may be different. The second problem is likely insurmountable, the first is I think just some bugs in the export and/or import functions. Issues have been known since the olden days though, so either it's something that's difficult to fix or it's way down on the priority list. If you're wanting to be able to perform post-flight analysis, you might want to look into Tacview. This works by adding a script that export events etc. as you play, which can then be read back by the Tacview program. You don't get the graphics/sounds/etc. of the game, but it is an accurate record of what occurred in the flight.

  23. Auto rudder unchecked and takeoff help at 0% and using simulation in gameplay options. It goes back to what I posted in another post about short throw controls. If they ever make rudders and joysticks that need pressure to move them a cm then we will finally have excellent control. I have Pro flight rudders and using the program it come with I have narrowed the range of them drastically.I then only use my two big toes to move them and it makes for much better control. But if someone where to model rudders that moved just an inch each way and with a great progressive feel so that each tiny mm movement is felt as a bit more pressure than it would be nirvana.:joystick: New Track.trk
