How much would you spend on your hobby/HOTAS?
bnepethomas replied to 531-Ghost's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I've scored pedals, collective, and cyclic from these guys. Real nice kit, only downer is a lack of buttons on collective. http://www.flightlink.com/ http://www.flightlink.com/hardware/rotorwing/seat.html -
Beautiful work!

Who wants a PIT BUILDERS forum here?

Especially if it gets things like gear status into the LUA export! -
Yeap using the world map of the Lowrance Airmap 2000, the Lomac world is very accurate.
-
I've done it, driving a Lowrance Aviation GPS. Happy to share code. It is not commerical quality, more of a roll your own. Uses Visual Basic Cheers Peter

so you got your 3 projectors, unfortunately i am blocked by corporate firewall and cannot see your images as yet. edit: oh i see em now, in all their glory, that looks great. awesome setup mate, if i have been good i think santa might be bringing me a pt-ax100e :D ****** its a beautiful thing :) ****** i don't know much about them, i am told 3xlcd is the way to go, along with being 16:9 good for watching dvd's etc and this one does 1280x720 native, so i wonder how the th2go would do running @ 3x1280x720 ? ! idea: will try on my 3 monitors. **** Two of the monitors are LCD, one one is DLP, haven't seen any hassles. I did think about using wide screen projectors, but wasn't so sure the Triplehead would handle it. **** (i will apologise in advance for my poor terminology), 1, you say the side are 800x600 but the centre is 1024x768, if so how have you configured the res, can you only run @ what the sides can do or does it scale the signal. eg: are you limited to 2400x600 or can you force the sides to upscale to 1024x768, or even 1280x1024. ****** I run 3072x768, and let the lower resolution projector upscale, as its only on the side. ******* 2, will th2go be happy running @ 1280x720x3 ? ***** Not sure, but I don't think so. *****

Like this? (powered by triplehead) [brag on] :) From the side gaps are seen Better from the pilots seat, just real hard to photograph [brag off], yeah I could align them a little better, but what the heak.... More info over here. http://forums.frugalsworld.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=112806 cheers Peter

Simkits sell a nice collective, thats what is sitting in my pit awaiting BS. http://www.simkits.com/product.php?prodid=535 Not sure if they now include a USB controller (didn't when I purchased it), if they don't check out beta innovations for an interface. Cheers peter

Nice find, great to see other sims that are pit friendly -
Couple of things I am seriously hanging out for is gear, flap and brake status for the pit.

[LUA] Stop sending data when ...
bnepethomas replied to Doug's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Thanks for the pointer re if Myplane then Your code here end I had wondered about that. This ain't directly related to this thread, but is related to LUA. After upgrading to 1.12 I could no longer export data via the network. I had modified the config.lua file and set export = True, nothing exported. Thinking the problem was LUA UDP related I went troubleshooting a possible N/W problem. Net result, the value true is case sensitive, it must be true not True. Cheers Peter -
Just scored my third projector, add a 7952 video card, and a triple head-to-go and vola, Lockon on three large screens. If you suffer from motion sickess you need not apply :), couple of rolls and the tummys a shaking. funnily enough I didn't get that effect with only one screen. Cheers Peter
-
Thanks for the pointer, in the 'real' script I do export based on LuaExportActivityNextEvent. Went back to exporting after everyframe to work out whats happening.
-
Its: LUAExport::LuaExportAfterNextFrame: refused I original thought it could have been an anti-cheat mechanisim kicking in, but now the export just contains (blank modules excluded), if I didn't know better it looks like I've lost a backend LUA macro during the upgrade process. I'd prefer to use UDP instead of TCP, as I can restart the data collection program on the remote computer without having to restart the flight. function LuaExportAfterNextFrame() dofile "lua.lua" local host, port = "guagepc", 8080 socket = require("socket") local ip = socket.try(socket.dns.toip(host)) local udp = socket.try(socket.udp()) local a = "" -- General Aircraft Information local TimeAndPilot = string.format("Modelt =") socket.try(udp:sendto( TimeAndPilot, ip, port)) end Cheers Peter

Been merrily exporting LUA until upgrading to 1.12a. I did read the config.lua export thing and am allowing export. Basically I am seeing an error on this line socket.try(udp:sendto( StringToSend , ip, port)) Surrounding bits here: dofile "lua.lua" -- The Basic Networking Stuff local host, port = "guagepc", 8080 socket = require("socket") local ip = socket.try(socket.dns.toip(host)) local udp = socket.try(socket.udp()) socket.try(udp:sendto( StringToSend , ip, port)) Any ideas what may have changed in LUA land between 1.1 and 1.12a? Ta Peter

controlling the BS with a hotas or collective & cyclic
bnepethomas replied to G3's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Just two at the moment... negotiating with the better half for the third projector and a video card thats strong enough to drive three projectors. The triple head to go is sitting in a box awaiting the arrival ;) -

My pit was recently upgraded specifically for Black Shark. Collective, Pedals, and Stick are from simkits. and yes they make a huge difference when flying choppers. Cheers peter -
How many people here fly the Su25t?

How many people here fly the Su25t?
bnepethomas replied to Mizzy's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Slight hijacking of the thread, for those that fly the SU25, is anyone using the trim axis? (I apologise now if this has already been discussed). Assigning trim to an axis works a treat for the A10 and F15, but for whatever reason it doesn't appear to do a thing on the SU25 or SU25-T. TIA Peter -
Dual monitor support
bnepethomas replied to 4c Hajduk Veljko's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
should that be the first computer? Woops yes it should be. Something that may need changing is the destination IP addresses in the LUA script. Its been a while. To help work out whats going wrong down ethereal from http://www.ethereal.com/, start that up on the second computer and see if the first computer is sending packets to the first one. Cheers Peter -
Damm it, I've just run into the flashing and corrupted textures after adding a second screen on my 9800XT. Any recommended version of CAT that doesn't exhibit this behaviour? Ta Peter

NO VIDEO, NO EVEN PICS?!?!???
bnepethomas replied to volk-19's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Awesome stuff, are we going to see any of the new systems exported in LUA? Got a toy where I can drive most of the guages today. But wouldn't mind seeing information on things such as cabin light status.. to link with cabin lights in the pit. ... and for the fixed wing craft Gear/Flap/Brake status... please :) -
Bit of a 101 question...Got the exporting bit of export.lua working now just trying to work out to send commands to the sim.. Got the bit about "LoSetCommand", is it a simple as modifying export.lua? Does LOMAC open the file every screen refresh or time period? If it is a case of modifying the LoSetCommand in export.lua, how does the sim know not to repeat the command next interval. Ta Peter

More a FYI, Oil pressure is good on A10 and SU25, but not on F15, Mig 29 or SU33. The later aircraft always have a zero reading through the LUA export. Cheers Peter
