  1. I don't believe so. I've tried finding a reset myself. I just overwrite it with new coords and go business as usual.
  2. They give you the parameters of each checkpoint, the "tips" to accompliah that are to go out and practice basic flight maneuvers. Go start by making 30 and 45 degree bank angle turns and rolling out on the heading you chose. Make 360 degree turns and maintain within +/- 100 ft and 10 knots, with the goal to finish at the same alt and speed you started on. Obviously you want to keep it tighter, but you have to start somewhere and thats the general check ride parameter. Aircraft weight, loadout drag, wind speed and direction, will all change how the craft performs.
  3. They were the first tutorials i came across and it didnt take long to start ignoring them. There is too much yelling and "i dont know what that is, so just ignore it." He reminds me of Nathan O, that flat earth guy.
  4. I used to fly with controller, i believe i used the left stick press as a modiefier and right stick was TDC depress. For throttle control I used "select" and "start." I dont think thats how the xbox refers to them, but yeah. slew control for pod and such was the d-pad. Weapons on the alphabets. Rudder on triggers, right bumper missiles, left bumper weapons release.
  5. True, but at the same time when I go watch the Ringling Brothers I know I'm at the circus....
  6. It helps follow a consistent work method. For me, TOO1, tpod slew to target, look at TOO1, designate, confirm coord input, look at tpod to verify target, TOO2, Slew to new target, look at TOO2, designate target, verify coord input, look at tpod, verify target, Step, repeat. If you are only loading and dropping 3 jdams, it helps to confirm before you start which pylon as 2 and which has 1. Its not fun to program two TOOs on the station with only 1 JDAM by mistake. This allows me to ensure I am not doubling up on targets and that i am witnessing the coordinates update as i designate the target. If you are looking at the tpod when you designate you, you may miss that the coordinate didnt register and then end up with the same coords on multiple programs.

    Printable maps

Removed based on information provided below.
  8. I know this was already corrected per JDAMs, but since it was brought up i felt it was important to add that this method is how a precise waypoint is added via the HSI. Incase OP finds that useful.
  9. I read the line that stated if the user unbinds their account, the key is revoked from DCS standalone. Fair, but my concern is the root nature of that statement. Is that just a courtesy to the users privacy or is it because in actuality it's on loan per the agreement with steam amd they too can sever that connection at will? Is there the possibility steam elects to revoke those keys? Granted, there's also the possibilty ED ditches steam, but that's obviously not a topic that will receive a useful response. Rightfully so. Edit- Im essentially working up the risk factor of dividing my assets from where I purchased, incase things split. I would like to give more of my money to ED whenever I purchase my next module instead of the middle man. I installed the standalone version to trial the A10 and such. Im just a little eccentric when it comes to deciding how and where I spend money, especially when it starts looking like it may be a lot over time.

    Free trial aircraft

That happens to explain my problem today, but between April 21st and April 29th I had the same exact issue, I decided to post now to try and figure it out before it ended. I should have asked sooner, but I also shouldn't have to come to a community to get installation and troubleshooting tips for something that should be/is allegedly simple. If the press release would provide a how to I'd have had somewhere to start instead of fumbling around assuming I was doing it wrong.

    Free trial aircraft

The game says a full month starting April 19th. This is a follow up to the one that cycled through aircraft last month.

Steam Version, latest open beta. There's nothing for me to click on in steam, it's not listed with the other DCS modules I own, nor if I go to a modules page can I do anything beneficial there, it only lists the buy now at full price and wants to to check out as such. In the game, there are no modules listed for me to manage. Other than what I own.
  13. How in the world do you access this? I can't find a single set of instructions and I missed out on it the last time, too. I can find fleeting references to a module manager, or seeing a link to click on steam, but no detailed walk through of the steps. I have absolutely zero reference to work from or troubleshoot. You would think the very same press release announcing the promotion would also include some instructions. I have googled, and searched this forum and found nothing but glimpses of the above that do nothing for me. Thanks for any help.
  14. Landing techniques is a good one to remember. Cross wind in MP doesn't really ever seem to be a factor so crabbing and side slips are not generally needed, however, if you are high on approach a good forward slip is awesome to have in the pocket.
  15. Sometimes I struggle getting the system to dump a target lock Ive acquired, especially when it is a friendly. This actually only seems to happen when it's a friendly. I can lose an enemy lock at will, whether I want to or not. In this case, and when none of the other current tracks are enemies, I'll just hit the erase button on the radar DDI. Just dont do it when tracking an enemy unless you know you have time for the radar to find that contact again.
  16. Using TO is pretty simple. Example: Drop bomb one from the station using TOO1, then use TOO2 when you need yo drop bomb two from that station. There are a couple threads on this forum detailing how it's done. It's very straightforward.
  17. Thanks.
  18. I've searched the forums and updates and I can't seem to find anything on setting the delay for JDAMs. Is this something that is in the works, or am I overlooking it? I see the JPF option, but it seems inoperable. Is there a plan to make this functional. Seems like critical feature for the bunker buster, although, based on the one bunker I dropped on, it did "work," even though the explosion was on the surface.
  19. I will try to find the track file from yesterday, but im not sure which it is and im likely not going to watch through them to find out. I will add that today i have dropped about 32 JDAMs and all worked as I would have expected. If i cant find the previous file I will attach one the next time things dont seem right. Any chance it is server specific? I tend to spend most of my time on one server, I've not been on that one today.
  20. I use JDAMs a lot, AG with the hornet is my go to mission, but as of late I have been having major issues with JDAM accuracy. I do both PP and with TOO/TPOD. Manuallu entering coords gives the best results, but its a gamble with the TPOD. Some are minor misses, which would be fine if there was a functional damage model, but frequently it's not close enough to do any good even if there was splash damage. Massive waste of time when the weapon has such a high chance of missing the target.
  21. It's the same with GBU-38 or mk 82. If it doesnt directly hit the target. Humvee, tank, plane, whatever, it will most likely live. Just a few minutes ago i had a humvee style vehicle survive a drop and its front right tire was in the crater. I've had GBU 38s land directly underneath the fuselage of aircraft and they survive. Damn things should have ruptured in half. But nope. Make another pass. Or more frustrangly rearm and fly mission again. It's an incredible waste of time.
  22. Did you have auto selected? Was there a vertical lone through your HUD? If you had that selected and was treating it like manual they wont drop happened to me yesterday.

    Jdam erase

It is fixed by a mechanic on the ground. It intentionally bricks the weapons.
  24. Nope. You can drop all 8 in one pass. You program two coordinates per station. When you have multiple stations, the system drops one jdam from each statiom to maintaim balance. So if you have 8 jdams, and drop 4, you will be left with 1 jdam on each station. Each one of those dropped jdams referenced either TOO1 or TOO2, depending on which one was selected at time of release. Assume TOO1 was selected. That would mean when you drop the next 4, you need to press TOO2 for each station prior to release. Otherwise, you feed the coordinate from TOO1 to the second bomb, resulting in two bombs to one target. With practice, this will barely slow you down. So you can drop all 8 in well less than 8 seconds. Probably like 5. Ive never counted, lol.
  25. Yes, when you undesignate it ditches that coordinate referemce from the tpod, so it doesnt know where to look. Couldnt tell you if thats a bug or intended, though. Seems, right. You dont have to undesignate to program multiple TOOs. Undesignate is the final step, after you have programmed all coordinated. Its just important to not revisit any programmed target prior to undesignating.
