  1. It's been discussed already, Hit f8 while on ground, hit f8 again, and select either hmd, or nvg
  2. Ideally you'd use the provided coordinates to get you in the ballpark, then using FLIR, you'd identify the intended target, and set it using flir in point track mode.
  3. 1. Go to HSI page 2. Go to data 3. Hit OSB for precise 4. Go to A/C 5. Lower right OSB, hit the button once to set DEC 6. Go to stores page, select your weapon 7. Select mission 8. Select TGT UFC 9. Select POS and enter coordinates 10. Select height, even if its zero ASL, you need to enter 0 in the UFC. 11. PP should no longer be X'd out
  4. To assist with the rise when you drop wheels and flaps, try the following: 1. At the break, pull 3.5 g as you have been. 2. At 90 degrees from your initial turn, you should be about 250 knots, go wheels down. 3. approximately 220 knots, drop your flaps and relax your turn to about 20-25 degrees of bank. Start trimming your aircraft to keep your velocity vector level with the horizon line. With your aircraft still in a bank, you shouldn't need to worry about rising above your initial altitude of 800. 4. Once on the downwind parallel to the carrier, level off and add power to arrest the descent. And finish adding a few degrees of trim to get "on speed AOA" This has helped me since I used to go flaps and gear down later in the turn, which caused the aircraft to balloon up in altitude. It takes a bit of practice to get right, but once you get it down, it really makes things easier, since your only worrying about 2 things once in the downwind. A. Throttle to arrest descent B. Waiting to turn into final and hit that magical 3 wire
  5. From what I saw in that thread, his optimizations were non existent and testing methodology was shoddy at best. When testing card vs card, you need to be strict with ensuring all settings are correct between both, otherwise the data is useless
  6. QUOTE=Northstar98;4496992]There was last time I checked... Doh.... had to do a search in steam. It isn't in the DLC list, but it appears when doing a search. Thank you
  7. No update on raven one for steam? That's disappointing... Edit, Doesn't show up in DLC list, but searching steam via search bar, it shows up.
  8. You need to set precise coordinates on your HSI, then go to AC page and change your coordinate entries to decimal seconds. Otherwise you won't be entering the correct coordinates. Chances are, with the default coordinate settings, your miles off your intended target.
  9. I'll take a look, thank you.
  10. That doesn't occur unfortunately
  11. is there a way to remove the speed carat after setting up a TOT for a waypoint? Scenario, I need to meet a push time on waypoint 1. I set the TOT using the timeufc, i meet that push time and no longer need to use the TOT feature, but i cannot seem to find a way to turn off the speed carat.
  12. Try manually dialing in the frequency and just stating "inbound" I have found that works better since it appears that the "ATC NAME, INBOUND" seems to just find the ATC that's physically closest to you and sends the command to them instead of your intended airport

    Hornet vs Viper

F-18 honestly. I love navy aircraft and it's very versatile. A/A- covered A/G- covered Landing at sea- covered Landing on runways- covered
  14. Any updates? Really looking forward to this feature
  15. The campaign is modeled after the book of the same name. And in the book & the military in general: hours of training/ boredom, coupled with minutes of sheer terror/combat. However, those small moments will stick with you longer than an entire campaign that just throws unrealistic scenarios at you from start to finish. If you ever wanted to know what it is like to be a navy pilot, this is the closest you'll get to experiencing it, without joining the military
  16. Honestly I'd wait to see what the rtx 30 series offers before spending any more money on your PC. However, barring that statement, I would go with a new HOTAS personally. Going from 16gb to 32gb isn't really an issue unless your playing multi-player, or playing campaigns that have a ton of assets in them
  17. Chances are, the mission designers would have more complaints about long mission times due to the added cold start. Usually what I do is go into the campaign (if it's not locked) and make my flight cold & dark. Same with campaigns that use the stennis, when i want to use the supercarrier, i edit the missions to what my preferences are
  18. Dcs has stated that they have no plans to include nuclear weapons with their own included aircraft. However a 3rd party included a nuclear bomb with one of their contributions, i believe its the mig 21bis. Its not accurately modeled though
  19. Do you have a litening pod on board? If so try using it to fine tune the target designation. Remember to put the j-28 into TOO mode
  20. Perhaps the ensign at the helm is rocking out with a pair of earbuds in and doesn't hear the captain calling for a steady bearing
  21. Wait? Do you mean to say that top gun wasn't a documentary? You have crushed my childhood memories....
  22. The tempo of the missions and communications/ voice acting are as real as we are going to get for now.
  23. Baltic, Can't wait for this campaign to release on steam, currently chomping at the bit to purchase this campaign. I did however try mission 8 off of the user files, as a bit of a teaser for your fantastic work. A couple of observations, 1. Is olive supposed to start closer to cats 3 & 4? After a couple of playthroughs I noticed she randomly starts closer to cats 3 & 4 on occasion. Other times, she starts towards the stern. 2. On return to the carrier, I call inbound, and get established. I am waiting for my push time and she is following, I call commensing and order olive to kiss off, she proceeds toward secondary landing location. Is this intended? Interesting story regarding my last playthrough that instantly made me feel like SpongeBob in the novel: 1. On my way to the tanker after completing mission 8. 2. At 1200lbs and 2 miles from Texaco, olive rubber bands in front of me and proceeds to take up station behind Texaco and blocks me from hooking up. I wait patiently, with my fuel now hitting 850lbs, I proceed to panic, and thankfully olive then rubber bands back into the observation point next to Texaco. I successfully hook up with 500 lbs remaining....all the while batching Betty screaming in my ear, fuel low. Never have i had a campaign bring me into the intended story as your mission has. If the full campaign is anything like my experience listed above, you deserve a medal for your work.
  24. Absolutely loving the campaign. Quick question, do you forsee any issues with replacing the stennis with a supercarrier variant? Was thinking of going into ME and updating the campaign missions to include the super carrier.
  25. Did you have fuel left in your external tanks? Perhaps the fuel call was relating to your internal fuel only?
