  1. ok so it all works fine in MS Flight Sim X. Must be a black shark setting - but where?!
  2. Hi everyone, Just bought a G940 and I'm trying to play black shark. The problem is when i try to fly the stick is riggid and stiff - it is like the force feed back motors don't want me to move the stick. The stick works fine when i do the calibration in windows control panel, including the force feed back demo'ing when i press the buttons. (i've enabled the forcefeedback option to true in the black shark lua file.) but its almost as if blackshark does not want to tell the g940 to do feed backy things. I've probably missed an obvious option somewhere - but have given up looking - so figured i would ask the experts. Also when i try to launch black shark from the profiler, it just crashes the dcs black shark launcher (dcs.exe)
  3. well the problem is that some decisions might seem good at the time, but once you get into it you might not enjoy it. but yeah, no matter what you do, if you stick at it until you are good at it, then its a good thing :) (except for rubber band balls in the office)
  4. http://forums.logitech.com/t5/PC-Gaming/bd-p/pcgaming guys, CharlesB from logitech is compiling a list of issues, so that the fixes can get an accelerated release. I recommomend everyone go over there and post a new thread of each issue: http://forums.logitech.com/t5/PC-Gaming/bd-p/pcgaming hopefully that will get the software dev's into gear and make this HOTAS as good as it should be!

  6. very cool - how much are the hydraulic dampners? :) I wonder why joystick manufacturers don't use this method - it adds style to the stick :)
  7. lol thats classic :) they tend to do alot of that kind of stuff in the new UK doctor who (i hate the show but it just happens to be on during dinner lol) I've also seen the non pro version of the x52 in a recent movie I can't remember which. I think it might of been "2012"
  8. I've found a few - there seems to be one built into Win 7, but not sure how good that is, I also have tried one called, Dragon Naturally speaking, but I think it needs a fair bit of training to get it used to a persons voice. What kind of commands would be good for the voice?
  9. so i'm guessing the G940 would be a bad choice for DCS Black Shark ? If the driver issues, slop and trim inaccuracy are fixed in the next release of the drivers, would it be worth waiting for the G940?
  10. awesome, thanks for the help everyone :) So far on my purchase list I've got the Logitech G940 TrackIR 5 Also how well does the HOTAS throttle work as a Collective? or should i purchase another joystick and mount it sideways?:)
  11. :helpsmilie:Hey guys, I was thinking about getting the G940 to fly DC black shark, but i've heard a lot of negative feed back on this and other forums. Would you guys recommend this? or should I look at saitek or CH ?
  12. wow, thats a lot of responses - thanks very much gents :) some really good information so far! Currently I've got a pc with: AMD quad core 2.4ghz (it was cheap :P) 9800GT SLI mobo (but only 1 card currently) 4gb RAM 19" widescreen lcd keyboard and mouse
  13. Hi Everyone, I’ve recently bought DCS Black Shark as I’ve always wanted to pilot a chopper. I’ve never played a simulator before but I’m impressed the detail of this thing, and have decided I want to go the whole way, but of course have little idea where to start. So far I’ve gathered, I need to buy a JoyStick/Throttle/Rudder pedals, Head tracking unit, multiple monitors, and a desk or some kind of mount for the joystick and throttle. I was hoping that the experts here would be able to point me in the right direction. I’d like to get the right set up – while my budget isn’t infinite I’d like to make sure I can play the game as effectively as possible. Can you guys recommend: JOYSTICK/THROTTLE Whats the best Joystick / throttle combo for heli sims – and is there a tutorial on how to modify the joystick – I’ve heard some people talk about doing something to the springs ? Is the force feed back a good idea on the Logitech joystick? Does it aid in flying, or does it just rumble like a console controller? RUDDERS PEDALS Any preferences? They all seem fairly similar HEAD TRACKING UNIT I’ve seen a free program called CACHYA used to look around the cockpit – any one had good results with this? Or should I invest in a trackIR 5 MULTIPLE MONITORS What options do I have for a 3 monitor setup? Do I need multiple video cards in pc? or is the matrox go triple head a better way to go? Or just a really big screen? COCKPIT STYLE DESK / JOYSTICK MOUNTS I’d like to get the ergonomics here right – Is there a product that will allow me to point the joystick between my legs like in real heli? I’ve seen the FX cockpit desk, which is very well priced(around $100 usd), but because I’m in Australia the shipping costs are a ridiculous ($900 usd) which is pretty much puts it out of the question – so I’m hoping there is a mount of some kind I can attach to my chair or desk – or some kind of stand? I appreciate the help, and hopefully I’ll be in the skies with you soon (well ,after I learn how to stay in the air !) Schkorpio
