guys if anyone bought a few of these spare keys and isn't using them i'd love buy one off you :) Have a mate that is interested - but I feel like the Su-25T is a bad introduction the world of DCS, the cockpit is bleh compred to the wonderfully detailed A-10C. And the A-10C is much easier to fly as well as attack with thanks to the TGP

Looking at your specs, I'm not sure if you have enough horsepower in your graphics card to be pushing three monitors at 1920x1080. It's a mid range gaming card. Typically every extra monitor you add halves your frame rate, so with three screens you'll be getting approx 1/3 of the your single monitor frame rate. Also your CPU is about 4 years old if I'm not mistaken - but should probably be enough as when it was new was a quite powerful PC. The best you could do to see what is holding you back the most is to do a few tests such as: Do a flight and save/record a track - replay it and take notes of the framerate, so that you have something numbers to compare - there is a button to enable FPS (shift escape or something like that, sorry cant remember!) test1: Change your game to use only one monitor, and lower the resolution to something really basic like 1024x786. And replay the same track. If this dramatically improves your frame rate then you know that your video card is what is holding you back. test2: Then try 3 monitors all at 1024x786 on your same track, and then try the same thing with your full resolution 1920x1080. If there isn't much difference between the two resolutions, then it means that your CPU is the component that is holding you back. AMD/ATI or NVIDIA doesn't matter too much - but for triple monitor gaming you'll want a one of their top end cards, either a HD7970, 7990 or GTX 680/690/Titan. The 7990 is bascially two 7970's the same board, as is the GTX 690 is two 680's on the same board - so its kinda of like built in SLI/CrossFire. But not all games make use of two videocards, whether seperate or on the same board, so its not always a good idea to get them. Hopefully someone that has a SLI or Crossfire setup will chime in. Both eyefinity to nvidia are more or less as easy as each other to get going - plug in all of your cables and go into the control panel to set up your mointors. EDIT: also with a 650Watt PSU if you consider getting a much more powerful videocard or even a 2nd one, you might need a better powersupply - 850watt or better depending on your videocard(s) of choice.

nice news :D I'll be pre-ording DCS F/A 18C Hornet as soon as its available! DCS fidelity jets are always welcome and so is new terrain :) Of course I wouldn't mind some 2 seater choppers and jets too. Yeah, I know, I know, I want it all and I want it now :P

nice list!

I bought FC3 :) but my concern is that if everyone buys additional modules it will skew the sales data, and what if ED then keep releasing lower fidelity stuff because the sales figures will show an artifical demand for them. I'd much rather a kickstarter/pre-order style system so that ED know exactly what I'd like to buy, and that money is going directly to that project. If the project was to be pre-paid even before development started then it would surely encourage things along and even give some opportunity to hire more staff (if that is an issue). I do enjoy FC3, but my first sim that i've gotten to know is DCS:A-10C and going fromt hat to FC3 it feels really basic (but still great fun). I really love the sea of buttons in a cockpit that i can play with :) TL:DR - if there ever is a pre-order or kickstarter style project for F/A 18C (or a just about any multirole fast mover) count me in. infact count in 2 copies as i'll be pre-buying for a friend.

Hello, I'm (still) new DCS A-10 to the game, and editor, so wanted to ask the experts as I've already spent a few hours in the editor and unable to achieve what I want. I'd like to make a mission where enemy's keep spawning from say building (e.g. barracks) every 5 minutes until that building is destroyed. What would be the best way to do this? thanks!

Well the same could be said about about ripple pairs - you could simple shoot all 7 rockets from one pod, then all 7 from the other. I'd say the idea of ripple is to cover a wider area - so with 4x ripple your area of coverage would be even wider (i think, but im new of course)

I sat around waiting for the Ground Crew...
schkorpio replied to Digital Aura's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
do you have to be parked anywhere in particular for re-arm and repair to work? e.g. if your landing gears don't come down, and you still land fine, but then can't remove yourself from the runway, will the you get repaired on the runway? -
is it possible to (i was going say pair...) fire rockets from 4 rocket pods simultaneously in a quadrupel setup?

Thank you gents :) ps sorry for asking in the wrong forum... the whole Ctrl + C is way too obvious for me to even think of! edit: fingers crossed for the SU-27SM - I love all of the gadgets in modern planes :)

This is exciting! So much cool stuff on the horizon! Question: I know that su-27 and F-15 are mortal enemies, but would it ever be possible in game to fly both as part of the same team? The reason I ask is because my friend likes Russian planes, and I like US planes, but we'd love to fly the same coop mission and not versus - without getting all of the fracticides etc. Also if there is one fix i'd like to see its having the ability in the mission editor to make your wingmen as players/clients so that you don't have to draw a waypoint for every single player/client plane you add. /excited rant :)

hard to watch cause its only 5 frames a second! :P but nice flying

well good luck hope you get it fixed :) also not sure if anyone mentioned the obvious, but try a defrag (if you tend to install/uninstall apps and files a lot (but not if you have an SSD, it will destroy the SSD drive). and make sure you have the latest drivers for your motherboard chipset and graphics cards from intel.com and nvidia.com

I've got the same CPU and a GTX 670 (which is only slightly faster than your 660Ti). And the game runs very smoothly for me - anywhere between 40-100fps, depending on the amount of "stuff" happening around me. With framerates around 60 or higher most of the time. So i'd expect your should be very similar. Can anyone remember what the command to bring FPS is? RightALT + print screen or something like? But that will give some realy numbers to compare with. Even though the game only uses one core - the 3570k CPU will automatically overlock itself to 3.8Ghz to give you a boost when not all 4 cores are being effeciently used. And of course these new 3rd generation CPUs are effecient - so 3.4Ghz last generation CPU is not the same as a 3.4Ghz 3rd generation (the 3rd generation is faster even at the same clock speed) so it is hard to compare apples to apples.

The non-steam version of A10 is a more updated version, if anything it should stutter less. My advice is to lower the graphics settings to everyone low,and see if it still stutters. (if not, start putting things onto medium, and eventually high until you get it to a point where things are smooth and look nice as well).

perfect thank you both :):joystick:

awesome, that helps a lot :) UFC func 5 (commit to memory!) Another question : I can now complete the hard instant action mission, but I'm still having trouble understanding what JTAC is telling me ( end up destroying all of the vehicles but JTAC yells at me to abort everytime i fire my weapons hah). I think that JTAC is trying to tell me what to blow up first? But i have no idea what they are saying. When I get to 6th waypoint in any of the instant action missions, I contact JTAC and select 4. 60 minute Check-in. And from that point on I dont understand what they are telling me. Would it help if I knew more about navigation? I don't know what to do with the coordinates they give me. I've been focusing on flying/landing/weapons so I'm still new to CDU etc.

thank you!

it certainly doesn't restrict anything to 32bit. however windows will automatically redirect most 32bit programs to install here instead to keep 32bit and 64bit programs separate. It also does something similar in the registry.

Hmm the steam version should work for you, but it is out of date now (im not sure what the story but its no longer being updated). Your best bet will be to download and install DCS: World from http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/dcs_world_english/ and then download and install the DCS:A10c module from http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/modules/?PAGEN_1=2 this will then automatically update to the latest version 1.2.3 which will hopefully work for you since a lot has been fixed since the old steam version Not to mention multiplayer will be better since just about everyone has moved over to the DCS:World base + modules.

not sure if this will help you much, but in the past I've had games not launch if I've had joysticks plugged in, or even if my usb headphones weren't plugged in (because the game could not launch without a soundcard). It could also be your firewall / internet settings - on the first launch, DCS does quite a bit of updating and downloading (or does it get past this stage for you?) Also this is probably a silly question, but you have installed DCS world first, and then installed the A-10c module on top? Another silly question - do you meet the minimum hardware/software requirements for the game?
-
just a quick one (having trouble searching for it) but is there a way to stop the steerpoints from automatically switching to the next one once you reach your current steerpoint? (i find that if i'm doing multiple strafe runs onto the same steerpoint i'll have to reset my steerpoint everytime I go past)

going to w8 soon - i know people love to bash it, but i've found it's actually a lot smoother on the same hardware.

Rebind it to left Win instead of Right win - that will certainly work :) (or anything else that you find good i guess) The reason is that a lot of keyboards don't actually have the RWin key - (they have the right click win key, but not the windows logo key on the right side). It had me confused too!
