  1. And again F-35: OUE completed: http://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/usaf-unit-completes-f-35-oue-activity-379117/
  2. I very much like to play my FC2 missions in FC3. Only a few adjustments are needed, and you can use much more complex logic in the mission editor. Flying through DCS World is exciting, since the terrain has more incidence and the dynamic weather certainly adds to it.
  3. F-35 lands at Yuma: http://www.yumasun.com/news/aircraft-83264-marine-yuma.html
  4. However, gathering evidence might be quite a challenge this time: http://www.latimes.com/news/nation/nationnow/la-na-nn-f22-raptor-crash-tyndall-air-force-base-20121116,0,4048709.story looking at the wreckage.
  5. I just stated and reiterate that each aircraft accident should be reviewed carefully, and fortunately this is the case. Statements like "the F-22 is doing fine" are irrelevant. I hold no opinion on how the F-22 is "doing". I would presume that the USAF, who own the plane, are not happy with this incident, just as they are not happy with any loss. But I can't speak for them anyway.
  6. Well, fortunately many in the aviation business totally disagree with you, both on the "accidents happen" pseudo-wisdom and on the "guessing". That's why I feel safe to fly.
  7. Marcos you are mixing up with another incident. Yesterday there was a crash of an F-22: http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/air-force-fighter-jet-crashes-on-highway-near-base-in-florida-panhandle-pilot-ejects-safely/2012/11/15/d4ddbca2-2f76-11e2-af17-67abba0676e2_story.html What you are referring to is an incident in May. The report on that was released yesterday also.
  8. Marcos, this was a 2009 article! I remember the problem was mentioned then, not sure it is still an issue.
  9. Yes, I have the same problem. Seems to work better in high PRF, but LA is showing up very late, deep in the NEZ, when BVR shot has no value. I also had to select Launch Override.
  10. What still puzzles me though is how the Marines plan to use an aircraft as sophisticated as F-35 to replace the Harrier in close-to-combat basing situations. Think about what happened at Camp Bastion, where a brazen attack disabled 6 Harriers (not mentioning but certainly not forgetting the human loss). Can you imagine when it would have been 6 F-35's? Would it ever make sense to base those at places like Camp Bastion? Or will it be able to stay at a further base due to its better range?
  11. Read the whole paper by Niemi here: http://www.flightglobal.com/blogs/the-dewline/2012/11/how-the-usaf-shot-itself-in-th.html (it is included with scribd)
  12. I fully agree, it really is a leap forward and makes A2A much more dynamic.
  13. Bought it, and flying it already!
  14. Wow, absolutely enjoying this, to be able to play my favourite Lockon missions in DCS! F-15C is superb, new missile logic feels very natural; I now really have the impression I know where the missile is going to go. What I also like is the A-10A, super!
  15. The Ka-27 seems quite a challenge to fly!
  16. I must confess I find the wait thrilling ... gives me a focus :D
  17. I must say I find the Russian navigation with the circle very natural and easy. But I must admit I always also have an eye on the HSI.
  18. I think with this halloween time around and while waiting for FC 3 we should take time for some deeper thoughts on life, the meaning of existence and the destiny of mankind. Because when it's out we won't have time for this.
  19. I remember there was this epic wait between versions of Lockon. I'm not sure whether it was between 1.02 and 1.1 or so? Or 1.01 to 1.02? Do some of you recall? We where for months on the outlook, I guess it was on the ubi forums, and the topics, as the wait stretched, became more and more philosophical.
  20. F-35B is getting closer to IOC: http://www.aviationweek.com/Article.aspx?id=/article-xml/asd_10_22_2012_p02-01-509033.xml In a month or two it all becomes very real!
  21. Yes, when it's available. Given that in the mean time they found the Higgs-boson, a guy jumped from outer space and they solved the F-22 oxygen problem, I guess we will wittness the end of the euro crisis or maybe even a combat-capable F-35 before this happens! (OK, the latter might be exaggerated).
  22. Some nice views out of U-2 cockpit
  23. +1 for the info!
  24. Was a typo, I meant MTBO
