I tried everything nothing helped.

The patch did not fix any of the stuttering. This is why I was afraid to pre-order F4-E Phantom II. DCS is not flyable with all this stuttering. Why did ED not make this a priorty to fix???

I found this video from Jabber who does an excellent job in breaking down what may be the cause of the stuttering in DCS after the 2.9 patch came out. If anybody has not seen his video regarding Case III landings it is a must see. I am posting his link here regarding the issue he discusses regarding Vram Overflow and Multi Threading. Hope it adds some insight regarding what may be causing some of the stutters and freezes.

I think both of you put it best. Here's hoping that ED is listening.

Interesting idea. I tried it with the Instant Action Mission using Free Flight on the Sinai Map. I flew over the coast as you suggested in the F-15E with autopilot holding me for about an hour. After holding off the coast I turned inboud for the airport. Once I got with in 10nm of the airport with all the AI moving around I descended down to 1500 feet and over flew the F-16s taxi to runway. Once I was over the F-16 it started to stutter pretty badly. It was very smooth up until that point. I guess this has something to do with textures loading, not sure.

I get the worst stuttering when I overfly six AI aircraft below me taxi or taxi by them. If I hit F2, F3 or F10 it stutters as well. Trying flying the Instant Action Mission on the Sinai map for Free Flight. That has a bunch of aircraft on the field that I can over fly and it causes a stutter fest. If I go out over the cost it becomes fluid again.

It seems from what I have read online and from other members this is a 2.9 issue. Sometimes it helps to hear that others are experiencing the same issue because it gives other hope that maybe someday ED will fix these stutter issues. Let’s try and understand that most of us just can’t go out and buy new hardware as ED tries to update DCS to improve graphics. For those of us that fly online with a squad it is not an option to fly on 2.8 since the servers are all usually flying the latest beta version. It’s nice to know that not everyone is feeling the problem, but after looking at the forums it seems more people are effected than not. I think it’s helpful to hear from both sides so we can get an idea if their is hardware out their that is running DCS without stutters in DCS then at least their is hope that with new modules like the Phantom F-4E coming out that some day I will get the chance to fly it. If this issue was really something simple it would have been fixed by now.

Me too. I don't seem to have any stuttering when I am out over the ocean or on the coast away from other objects.

I wasn't aware that you could do that. Is thier something I can do to help identify that this is a core issue or anything I can try to fix it.

I tried deleting both FXO and metashaders, which did not seem to having any effect. I also deleted DCS and reinstalled it on a diffrent drive to see if that would help. I updated my Nvida drivers, which I was hoping would help, but had no effect either. I'm don't think I am running any mods at this time other than the aircraft I downloaded from DCS World and Tacview. I tried turning tacview off and it still stuttering. If this a Core issue then it's beyond me since I am that tech savy and I'm not sure how to even mess with that.

I wanted to reach out because I am not sure what to do at this point with my system. I am not sure if this is a hardware issue or the patch 2.9. Before the patch I did not have these issues and after patch I have had a serious problem with freezing and stuttering when flying around the carrier in the F/A-18c or dogfighting 1v1 in the F-15e. It seems to be brought on when I pass other objects. If I fly by another aircraft like in the merge or pass by the carrier in the break I get stuttering. I have tried turning things off or lower settings to no avail. My system is not bleading edge, but it is not that old either. My system is an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970x, 128 GB Ram, RTX 2080 TI and M.2 SSD drives. I was thinking about upgrading the video board to a 4080, but at this point I can't tell if that would really help. I'm not sure what to try to solve this problem or hope that ED is working on it. In the track I included I can turn on my FrameRate RCtrl-Pause and when I pass the AI aircraft in the merge it start's to stutter momentally. Also, I can't fly around the carrier anymore without a lot of stuttering. When I approach the boat on the Stern side and look down at the boat on my left it is a stutter fest until I pass the boat and when I approach the carrier for landing it just pauses for almost a 1/2 second just before touching down. I have the same problem. I think at this point it would really be helpful if ED would just respond and let us know that they are working it. I am really looking forward to the F4 from Heatblur. I have to put all flying on DCS on hold, because I can’t fix this shuddering problem and I don’t think buying new hardware is going to fix it.

I have all the same issues as above. I was flying just fine in 2.8, but as soon as I upgraded to 2.9 I get all the stuttering and pauses, which I can not figure out. I am running on a AMD Ryzen 3970 threadripper, 2080 ti, and 128GB Ram. I just can’t go out and buy a new computer every time ED decides to do major update. I’m not even sure a new computer is going to even solve the problem.

I tried downloading the update and my whole install got messed up. I could not get repair to work either. Not sure if it was pointed to the wrong directory. I deleted everything and now I just want to reinstall DCS from scratch, but I can't figure how. Can someone tell me what I need to download, so I can reinstall and get 2.9 up and running with Multi-treading turned on. Will not let me install on D drive either. When I tried to get it to install on D drive I get 433 error.

Been trying to get the A/G Radar to generate HRM using .67 size and it never completes. It says it will take 12 secs, but the count down take more like a minute and then I fly over the target. I'm using about 15 degree offset and telling it to generate about 20NM from the target. Not sure what's wrong. but it worked the first time about two weeks ago now I can't get it to work.

Thanks Archer for the info. I was using the first shot to just keep him busy while I came around after the crank, but it always look like it hit him. But now when I go back your right the missle was down to 600knots and passed within 96 ft of the target. It looks like it may have lost lock and was trying to reacquire as you stated. I usually fire the first shot becuase the AI does the same. Next time I will try the second AIM-120 from a lot closer instead of switching to the AIM-9

I fire my AIM-120 from my F-15E at the JF-17 at 40NM and the missles goes right through the JF-17 and never detonates or kills the bandit. I've tried this four times always with the same result. Missles goes right through the jet and no kill except I die from his missle. Even though I get shot down my missles has gone active so shouldn't it still hit the JF-17? Yes, it was an over reaction. Some of it just has to do with having to wait so many year for things to be fixed in this sim. But it looks like the problem may have been cuased by the F-15E turning all the cockpit lighs down because it thought it was night. I went onto the server at 8:00am and I could not even tell if the Master Caution light was on or the Canopy Open light was on. I tried 40 minute later at 8:40am and all the light were back to normal. The Gear and Flaps are little dimmer, but that was nothing compared to the other problem. Sorry for the over reachtion just a little tired of waiting for bug fixes and I was afraid if I could not tell if the Master Caution light was on that was just to dim. But all is well now. Also, moved Gamma from 1.8 to 2.0.

All cockpit Annunciator lights to dim to read. How come during testing of the patch just released did no tester notice that the all the cockpit Annunciator lights are all two dim during the day time. I know this will never get fixed anytime soon, and I was so looking for just one aircraft to learn to fly where I did not have to wait a life time for one simple bug fix. This should have been notice before the patch release. Going on the past bug fixes thing like this take several year to fix. It look so nice last week. Now I'm going to have shelve the F-15E hope it gets fixed some day.

I just wanted to say thank you to =617=Evil who's body of work speaks for itself. I have tried for years to create training missions that would allow me to develp the proficiency and muscle memeory needed to master the the F-16 Viper and now the F-15E Eagle. Anyone who has flown his F-16 training missions, knows the monumental effort that has gone into his work. From absolute bottom of my heart I just wanted to say thank you for making that same effort here for the F-15E. Your work is probably responsible for more sales of more F-16 Viper and now the F-15E Eagle, which I am truly indebted to you. Thank you again for all the effort and creativity that you put into your work.

Everything seems to be all messed up after patch. Just looking at the F-15E mapping I see the old key assigments, but if I double click in the controls for that aircraft the Key Assigmnet dialog comes up with Key field empty. If I back out to the Control Page the key is still there. All aircraft are all messed up. Using Winwing Orion2
