  1. Hey there. I just found this thread now, but I'm also working on a TEDAC of my own. So far I used @hannibal's grips from thingiverse, a variation of @Lt_Jaeger's trigger assembly, and the rest I just did my own design to fit the screen and buttons I'll be using for the MFD. I'll share my progress here. This is how it looks as of today: For the joysticks, I used these: Potenciómetro de Joystick de J17 B10K, consola de juegos portátil, PSP, 5 unids/lote|Conmutadores| - AliExpress For the trigger assembly, I'm using a mini limit switch for the 1st detent and a standard 6x6 pushbutton for the 2nd detend. It gives it a really nice feel to it: I won't use a Leo Bodnar board. Instead I'm using an Arduino Pro Micro with a pcf8575 I/O expander board and a button matrix. For the screen, I'll be using a 1024 x 768 LCD screen (model HJ080IA-01E). The intention of this project is not to build a 1:1 replica, but to have something that can be used to play. Dimensions are not according to IRL TEDAC. This can be ignored if your plan is to play in VR or you are ok just using the main monitor to see the screen. @subseauk asked about the knobs in the MFD. Just as a reference, I plan on using two PT-10 pots for the Gain and Level knobs, and a 3 position rotary switch, similar to this: 3 Position 4 Pole MBB Make Before Break Rotary Switch 150mA 250V CK1042 5063200237657 | eBay for the DAY/NT/OFF knob. WARNING: this is a prototype and a work in progress. I will share the BOM, files, and instructions on how to build it after I've finished it and proven that it works. I might even build a final improved version afterwards for myself, and possible sell this prototype ONLY IF it works, and only by the approximate cost of the materials. It is huge work, and I don't plan of building and selling them. I'm doing it for myself. For that reason, I will share my files and project instructions for free. I'm sure @hannibal worked hard on designing his grips, so if he ever decides to remove them from thingiverse and sell them on etsy, that's his right and nobody can blame him. I for sure will not be including other's work in my shared files, but links to theirs instead. @Lt_Jaeger @hannibal please let me know if you don't agree with some of the above. I still have some time ahead before I finish, so I don't plan on sharing anything yet in a few weeks. If anyone wants to start this project before I finish and prove that it works, I'll be happy to help and guide at their own risk.
  2. Hi. I used to use Opentrack with a DIY TrackIR in the past, until I switched to VR about 2 years ago. It worked as expected. I have recently wanted to swtich back to Opentrack for some games and modules, but this time I downloaded AITrack instead. I've set it up as well as Opentrack, and up until that point, it seems to work normally. AITrack reads my head movements as expected and Opentrack reads it and converts it to octopus movement in the preview screen. However, when I launch DCS, nothing happens. I can see this in the Adjust controls window: But no movement, and I'm not sure if it's normal that is greyed out or not. Output in the Opentrack is freetrack 2.0, which should be the one DCS reads. Opentrack version is 2022.3.2 and I've tried both the standard DCS version and the MT version with the same results. Any idea what else could I try?
  3. Hey. I'm building one now, and I'm curious to know what 4 position hat switches did you use. I'm using some that I found in aliexpress, but they are a it flimsy and have quite some play in the center for my liking. I also found some military grade ones for about $37 a piece, and I need 5 of them, so I'm not buying those.
  4. Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but I'm facing some issues that I don't know if anyone has already pointed out. The thing is regardless of whether or not the Mod is enabled in the Special tab of the Options window, it's always on. And regardless or not the chat box is displayed, the box seems to block whatever is behind it, so for instance, I can't sort the server list by ping if the chat box is in the top left corner, because it's blocking it, again, regardless the status of the box (enabled/disabled/shown/hidden). Is there any fix to this or is it just the way to be? Plan B: how do I uninstall this?
  5. That did the trick, thank you!!
  6. Aahh! I see! I was trying with the cold and dark instant action, which in the briefing I noticed "My team" is USA. Makes sense. Thanks!
  7. Hi. I have a lot of liveries in the liveries folder that are not available in the rearm and refuel window. Some examples: I've used some of those before, but now they're gone. Any idea what could have happened?
  8. Thank you. Where's the energy saving options though? I can't find anything under that description neither in the Pico options, nor in the VD options.
  9. Yeah, the only option is 72 FPS:
  10. Haven't gone through the 4 pages of this thread, sorry, but I believe the summary is that there's not a quick and easy way to play DCS with the Pico 4 plugged in with a cable yet. I just tried the "simple" Streaming Assistant way, but DCS does not launch, and I don't want to explore the ethernet route for now, as it would seem it requires 2 cables (one ethernet and one charging, even if it's optional) and messing around with drivers and weird setups. I would expect Pico would eventually figure out their software issues and fix them so we can use the Streaming Assistant with a USB cable out of the box, so you'd be able to disable Wifi and save some battery time. Until then, wireless gameplay with the wifi 6 router being just in front of me is the way to go for me. Quick question though. I have a 3070, which VD then recommends High settings for. I'm going to try pumping it up to Ultra. Any previous experience with this? do you think it's doable? worst case scenario I'll be switching back to High again. Also, why can't I change the Hz to 90 in VD? Pico supports it.
  11. I just played the mission again (making sure the game was up to date), and I still have the same error message
  12. Thank you BD. What about the other question, about re-running the mission without overwriting the campaign? I'll try to fly it as a single mission, see what it does
  13. How do those updates work? do we need to delete and re-download the campaign, or does it update like a game update? Also, I skipped this mission, how can I fly it and be flagged as Success without overwriting the following missions?
  14. By eye candy I guess you mean quality, right? I think I want that, better quality of detail, etc. Obviously to a point were I don't get two 2 fps, but I'm sure there's a sweet spot. I was using an Oculus Quest 2 before and I was told it was a night and day difference, but I haven't seen that difference yet. Or at least not that much. One thing I do miss about the Quest is them being wireless. I have to say, the cable on the Reverb is quite annoying.
  15. Hi guys. I'm not a a very computer guy so I'd like to ask you for help in regards to twitching my game settings to the best of my setup. This is what I have: - MSI X470 gaming plus max - Ryzen 7 3800X - EVGA RTX 3070 XC ULTRA GAMING - 32GB RAM 3600Mhz - HP Reverb G2 What are the best settings you would recommend me to start with and what should I test increasing/decreasing to fine tune it?
  16. Quick question. If I skipped the mission, and due to my OCD, want it to look as Success once the issue is fixed, can I do it without overwriting my progress in the further missions?
  17. I just tried it too and it's a heck of a complicated task, but now that I read the reasons, I'll just use the TGP and maybe labels, or just let Olive do the job.
  18. Same here, also playing VR. I do have LSO grade. No unofficial mods installed.
  19. Guys, thank you for your help, but I already figured it out and marked the relevant answer as the solution. I'm not manually lasing, I leave it automatic (it's really the best thing you can do unless you are lasing for someone else to bomb). It just the following process (now finally working since I was missing a step): 1- roughly set up a target, as close to the target itself 2- slew the reticle in the ATFLIR to properly aim at the target 3- TDC depress (this is the part I was missing) 4- LTD/R Arm 5- Follow the vertical line and drop when the horizontal line reaches the VV (the bomb has previously been set to AUTO mode and given the proper laser code) There's not much to it, I was just missing one step
  20. No. You can target designate a WP with any kind of weapons. Heck, you can even do that with no weapons at all. I just didn't properly see what this WP turned into and mixed concepts, instead of TGT, as Tholozor said, I said TOO.
  21. Sorry, didn't get that 100% right. Is ACLS active in Raven One? (the first campaign, not Dominant Fury). I'm currently playing it, but I don't think it is (probably because of the bug in DCS mentioned in your last message).
  22. What I meant is that I selected WP designate in the HSI, and that converts the WP into a TOO waypoint (not sure if it's TOO or TOT)
  23. So what I noticed is that once you have centered the big cross and clicked and held the cage button the first time, then you have the two small crosses to align, and the cage/uncage button just cycles between vertical/horizontal alignment and roll alignment. So at that stage, you center the crosses properly, but cage doesn't actually "confirm". It just cycles between the two, and then once both X/Y and roll have been aligned, you just switch to another screen with the SCS (according to the manual), right?
  24. Thank you both, I've managed to do it.
  25. Yes, the laser code was properly input and yes, the bombs are laser guided (otherwise it wouldn't require a laser code). Also, it's a Raven One campaign, so all the ordinance is pre-set. But anyways, I think it must have been either a wrong targetting mode (INR, Scene or Auto), or not depressing TDC, because I've managed to fix it.
