So its starting to look like a real pit. These screen caps are from before I'd done much more than mirror the left console to the right console. The face of the right console and AUX are not correct. The left console will be build ready once I finish the throttle (down the line), and finish the brake pressure gauge and brake handle. Right console currently needs to have the face finished up, what I can do of the AUX, and integrating the servo and linkage system for the pitch control of the stick for ACLS landings. Unfortunately, looks like I mis-selected my steppers for the gauges so they all are going to have to be redesigned. Going to go with the common VID29 stepper for the gauges, with a 360* mod where required. I am trying to find a dual stepper of the same series to drive the coax needle gauges. (Very much would appreciate any pointers or direction there.)

It is a valuable asset, even though quite a few key dims were missing. We did secure a real inboard grip, so between the two we should be able to extrapolate the outboard grip pretty well. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Gents, I got the chance to look at this a little closer. What appears to be a hard lift after the AB detent is just a relief for the finger lifts. They are a little thicker in that area than the original because they are printed vs milled. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

As we work on the OpenHornet cockpit design, we have struggled to find reference materials on the SJU-17 ejection seat. Dimensions, good images, etc. If anyone has any solid information, I would greatly, greatly appreciate it. If you do, please include with where you got it as well. (Looking for primary sources mostly.) Just PM me.

So finally broke through my block on the Left AUX. Structure on the left console is progressing again. Also, I've transitioned the model to SolidWorks 2018.

Both gates (Ground IDLE and AB) have a solenoid driven detent. There is also a hard lift for the AB gate. This is based off of real throttle parts, so those gates are copied from the real thing.

We are still (quietly) plugging away. Unfortunately, everything will be released at the same time. We are modelling all the components/LRUs first, ensuring they are placed in the correct XYZ coordinates according to the real bird, and then building structure to accommodate the components. The reason we have decided to do a release all at once is in case we find issues as the design progresses. I would hate for people to have to rebuild the structure because I caught something during a QA check on the model. Left console is still in work, really hung up bad on how to break the AUX down due to print size limitations. Of all the stuff Ive designed both professionally and personally, really didn't expect this to be the sticking point. Haha.

We don't really have a hard number, but we are keeping affordability to the end builder in mind, and trying to ensure parts can be fabricated as cheaply as possible where it doesn't otherwise impact the functionality of that part.

You can, but we will be coding it only for DCS-BIOS. Reflashing the Arduinos will be on the builder.

Hey all. I apologize for the lack of updates - between my Army training last month, and me being out of state due to a death in the family most of this month, not a whole lot of progress has been made on the Mechanical side. Electrical has continued to progress in my absence. We have transitioned to KiCAD 5.0 for electrical, and will be updating the model to SW2018 in the next month or so. Thanks for the kind words there Stang - we do work on this project on a purely volunteer basis and as our (very busy) "real" lives allow. All individuals working on this project have demanding jobs and families. Aniron, I was. I am going to finish this project first, then I may look at doing a rear seat at some point in the future. Almost tempted to just build two "C" model pits in that case however.

As of now, yes. That may change as the structure evolves. I am trying to figure out how to redesign the AUX consoles - they are a couple inches outside the print envelope and I didn't catch that initially.

I appreciate your concern, but as the entire core development team is designing this in the US, imperial units were specified mostly due to metric materials being prohibitively expensive. But the beauty of it being an Open Source project (once released) is anyone can contribute to the project to tailor it to their needs/desires.
