AI from air start not following altitude waypoints
Adam replied to Shadow KT's topic in Aircraft AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms)
No takers? I'm guessing if no one else is having problems then I'm doing something wrong - I just can't figure out what. -

Hi BigNewy, Thanks for offering to take a look. In this track you'll notice that the B52's keep on descending. I cut it short to save on file size, but if I let them go, they get to an altitude where they're basically hugging the mountains. If no one else is having issues I'm sure it's something silly I've done - I just can't figure out what. The file can be downloaded from https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jwq_m_5X0eDLoL0fpKwa4_bLekFuPZrH/view?usp=sharing Thanks in advance! Adam -

Sorry for opening an old threat - but I'm experiencing this issue in 2.5.6 with a mission I'm trying to edit in 2.5.6 (stable release). Is this still a bug that hasn't been resolved. -
Co-op's have always been my most preferred game modes. I'd definitely like to see mission makers add a spot (or option) for a co-op wingman.

Noob Problem - Unable to get 9L Lock
Adam replied to Adam's topic in DCS World Tutorial & Help Requests
If you mean by pressing 'C' - yes. I probably should have demo'd better, by placing the target a little further away from the bore sight, but you should be able to see it as I press the cage/uncage a few times jump between the target and caged position - while no tone changes (except at the very beginning when it was working to start with). -

Hi Top Jockey. Thanks for your response. I thought it was just something stupid that I was missing out on, but considering the views in this thread, and the lack of replies - I'm guessing it's not simple after all. :) Interesting to note that you've had something similar happen. I will definitely try changing IR cool and will report back. Thanks once again for your help! -
Noob Problem - Unable to get 9L Lock
Adam replied to Adam's topic in DCS World Tutorial & Help Requests
Thanks for the response - and sorry - you shouldn't need to be logged in. I think I did something wrong with the video. Hopefully I've fixed it now. I'm in the FA/18 -
Hi, I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but when I first start off with 9L's I can get a strong signal on a target, then uncage and get a lock tone. (I get the high pitched sine wave tone). Perfect! If during game play I bump the sensor control switch - I'm unable to get a lock and I don't know how to return it. I can get the lower pitcher saw tone - but I don't know how to change the mode back. I'm sorry - I know this is going to be a stupid question - but I've been searching video's for the last 24hrs and I'm obviously missing something simple. I've made a youtube video of what I'm describing available here: Video link For the first 5 seconds I switch between cage and uncage- works perfectly. Then I change the sensor control switch (forward) which locks the target on radar. I can cage and uncage, but I never get that high pitch tone back. I try releasing the radar lock lock and going back to bore sight. No go. I can get the high pitch if I point to the sun - so it's as though it's expecting a hotter target, but I'm in guessing land now. I've asked a couple of mates who also play DCS (we're all relatively new to this) - they say it works for them - so I'm not sure what I have setup different. Can someone please advise what I'm not seeing? Thanks in advance!

Thanks Cupra!

I was stable only - I deal with computer issues on a daily basis - but SC changed that. I was surprised by how many more servers were showing up in the server list after updating to OB. Seems that the majority of people must be running OB. Was a bit of an eye opener to me.

Bah! He only moved home? And here I was, thinking that it may have been a TRON like experience where we'd be in game looking for Wags on a map somewhere. ;) (There's an idea for an easter egg) :music_whistling: Seriously though - glad to hear it was moving home and nothing serious! (Although I think the most stressful time I've ever experienced in my life was house moving!)

CS for SC. :)

I was just wondering what is the reality when it comes to crosswind landings and aircraft carriers. Is there times that this would be done - or is it SOP to turn the carrier into wind for landings? If it is SOP - is there a simple way to trigger a carrier to turn into wind when there are aircraft inbound, and then resume course once aircraft are on deck? (Disregard this last question if it's not SOP for this to occur).

I experienced something similar to this the other night. I don't think I spawned there, but noticed when I looked to my right at the blue deck crew - they were jittering. My thought is that as the carrier was moving, they slipped back on the deck (static to the world, not the deck) and then realigned where they were supposed to be, and this repeated at a high rate. My guess would have been closer to 10hz than 20 though, so not sure if it's the same issue you experienced. Pure install of OpenBeta - no mods here as well.

If possible in game music and cutscenes (campaign only)
Adam replied to carss's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I was thinking the same thing. I know that DCS is focused on being a simulator, however in regards to missions - having a trigger that could pause and cut to a scene (play a video file) - would open up a whole new world for how immersive it could be storyline wise. Although I'm bias - I'm the sort of person that appreciates a game because of a good storyline as much as I do the graphics - but if it wasn't hard to implement a pause - play clip and then back into game when the clip was finished - this could open up a whole new lot of possibilities for storyline based missions. It seems we can do this with Audio already (although without the pausing) through triggers. Just not video. -
Looks like I can 'cheat' by binding the BALL communication to a key/button - but we don't have the same option for CLARA. Thanks for the reports - I'm assuming this may be a bug and not me after all. :-)

Hi, Just wondering if there is any location where I can find the logic for the super carrier communications? I and a few mates have been having problems getting the radio options to change to give us new options. We normally don't get options to kiss off, clara, or call the ball (hornet ball) - even though we've been given Charlie. The radio stays stuck on option to 'See you at 10' - even after the our pilot's automatic 'overhead' call goes out. Every now and then it appears - but it seems random (and rare) and I was just wondering what the logic / trigger is for the coms menu to update/change? I'm able to Alt+F9 into the LSO position and see our aircraft stacked up. The first one gets the Charlie call and heads into the pattern. We get all other passive radio calls. (Right, Left, too low, Power, Bolter, etc where appropriate - so the system seems to know that we're inbound to land) as well as the landing score - but the radio coms never change. Case 2 & 3 seems to be working fine although mostly have been doing case 1 - haven't done too many of the others. Not sure if this is a bug or more likely we're doing something wrong. Either way - understanding the logic behind the scenes that changes the radio menu would be very handy if available please. TIA

WOW - had a mate with the same problem - and this fixed the problem. Doesn't make sense to me because we connect via an IPV4 address - but still - I ain't going to question what's working!!! THANK YOU!

Same problem here. I was on stable, and downloaded openbeta for the SC. It downloaded fast enough - but now that I want to switch back to stable - the downloads are painfully slow. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong using the dcs_updater.exe command - but I guess not?

I tried ground-crew request-launch (F7 from the ground crew menu) - and it won't register / execute the command. Edit: Oh - I just forgot - I should have tried using the mouse to select the menu option instead to see if that worked. Double Edit: Yep - using the mouse worked. Not sure why F7 doesn't but at least it's a work around.

That is AWESOME!!!!! That would be so great to have in DCS!!!

And murphy's law states - if you have a 50/50 chance - there's a 80% change you'll get it wrong.

I get exactly where you're coming from. I found the training missions to be lacking as well. However, I'm also aware that there's cost to production and I'd prefer the team putting in effort elsewhere. It's about priorities and resource limits. The other option of course would be to put on extra staff, charge more for their products and have better training missions, but this could have an adverse effect where higher price = less customers which means either having to raise price for current customers to maintain the business. I have no idea of their business model or profit & loss, and I would love to see better training missions. I personally would pay extra for them - but I'm not sure others would. I also found the training missions to be a bit vague as well. In the end - the best solution I've found is to have a friend fly with me, and be my training instructor. It was two way feedback, and real time. Thinking way outside the box - maybe there's a market for that - where people can offer their services to be a training instructor at a small fee. :music_whistling: (I suspect it would have to be a love job with a small bonus - I doubt many would be willing or capable of paying full hourly rates). Apart from that - this forum (I have read many different threads before I signed up) - would have to be one of the great resources out there.
