  1. Check resource monitor also, button right there on task manager to see what processes are doing (CPU) and (MEM). Might become a guessing game very shortly; as far aa I know the 64bit LUA iteration is buggy as at the moment with 1.2.6
  2. With 6000 views on this thread so far, I hope this is reported as a bug. Where's the appropriate bug thread to add this to the list.
  3. On the topic of this with the latest version, I noticed in resource monitor that my memory had 13GB still cached after closing DCS. If you reboot your memory is cleared. Could it be perhaps other resources are running hard with lack of memory which is the cause of those processes being stretched thin, as it's already cached with DCS data and there's not much left for other programs. I have to check this again, but have a look at memory tab in resource monitor when you exit. What's your specs too?
  4. I saw this too after install and update. Try deleting saved games dcs folder, then start dcs, rebuild folder see if it finds it and loads again.
  5. No fix So I did some numerous tests the other night, still no fix to this irritating frame skipping with moving view left and right slowly but not too slow from center. Running the latest 1.2.6 U2. Now my theories.. Either 1) this has something to do with the world ands game is now caching data and a read/write problem somewhere is happening when the view is moved in 5degree increments through to 180. It just isn't smooth anymore, and it's not the trackir causing it, unless it's the way the game is using it. 2) it has something to do with the ground boundary box being open, that is you can move mouse view under the earth and lookup to the bottom of the plane and water. Something to do with fullscreen and multimonitor arrangements ? Now the interesting thing is that this is less noticeable when over the water, and as soon as you are low over land the skipping becomes worse when moving the cockpit view. My frames over land with my setup are approx. 35-38 fps. Over water my fps is around 58-60. I tried all manners of vertical sync, and they all make it worse, so I always leave vsync off. This isn't happening in 1.2.5. Trackir cockpit view moved freely without skipping, yet the world movement hap a slight skip, of which it now feels more fluid, but the opposite is occurring with trackir movement. It's pretty annoying, and I'm guessing here with what is clearly observable since 1.2.5.
  6. Wow, this is very exciting. Still grinning with excitement. Is there any further information on multi-monitor support. I assume the process might be the same. At the moment stuck with SoftTH for landscape, portrait, landscape monitor orientation with bezel compensation. wonder if ED could implement something similar for multi-monitor use?
  7. :( What version trackir software are you using? I'm surprised others aren't reporting seeing the same.. What on earth could it be. Tmrw night I have some time to go through some installation changes and testing. :joystick:
  8. Update 2 is out. I'm not able to test till later in the week, can anyone confirm if this is fixed after installing latest updates. Much appreciated.
  9. I was thinking to myself today how are mission hosts going to prevent red and blue sniping each other at the same airport with airport spawning, unless players spawn in the air at different waypoints.
  10. Ooh yeah. I've got my 2 weeks work leave ready at the push of a button. Map looks great; I cant wait to see some video action of EDGE running!
  11. Yes an annoying issue with rocket salvos firing. It doesn't seem to be as bad with A-10C rocket salvos however, maybe it's the model or effects, maybe one can be merged into the SU-25 to reduce the pain.
  12. Has the camera /ground boundary box been fixed yet? I can rotate the camera view so that I'm look up from under the earth; also F-15C wheels aren't seated to the runway ground but float above.
  13. agreed, it feels like everything is still Beta all these updates later IMHO It also feels like the release patches aren't tested. It seems to be more an after action test and report; rather than test, release.
  14. Aware, but the profile and tuning has nothing to do with what is occuring. You mention you dont see it; what's your specs. TrackIR model Software version Operating system 32 or 64 System MEM If we voluntary bug troublshoot this ourselves maybe we can solve it; before we wait for another month or so for a fix, if it is fixed(as not one tester , etc has acknowledged this as yet) rant over.
  15. No I don't use slow profile setting.
  16. I have my trackir profile set to custom one to one, precision on, speed:1 smoothness:50 I also have G-force head movement turned off. Rock and Timekilla, can you post settings you use, and perhaps trackir screenshot of settings. Trackir or facetrack, trackir version, model. I've tried vsync changes, nvidia setting changes, everything except play around with trackir itself. I don't have this issue at all with 1.2.5, or previous.. So whatever has been implemented now I'd really like to know what is causing it. If only ED could provide some input on this, as I really don't want to be spending time troubleshooting this bug, rather than enjoying the sim itself. Like we've said, 1.2.5 this problem we are seeing doesn't exist. My money is on view.lua and head tracking changes with engines fps management or somehow this is module related as the view.lua script mentions, gains adjusted for other modules. Spn what do you mean by slow?
  17. Confirmed. I tested again the others night, when over land low and where the frames are lower than over water for instance, if my view is still, frames of land moving are smooth, but as soon as I start looking left to right the frames stutter like crazy. Really annoying.
  18. Guys I don't have the latest beta modules. So far I've only tested FC3 modules where I see this issue. I see that view issues were raised with Mi-8 and Freetrack users; can those reporting here advise what modules they are using and seeing this issue; Occam's razor says Mi-8 and new version has caused these problems.
  19. Affirm. I have it turned off and have for the past 3-4 version changes. 1.2.6 something has been changed that is causing issues with Trackir framerate/motion. Has this been raised in the FC3 bug thread as yet? if not; I think it should be. Im surprised more people arent reporting this. either a) not using trackir b) using too fast x/y movement to notice c) given up on 1.2.6 already
  20. So now the question is, how do testers report this as a bug, or at least request what view changes were made that would be th e cause of this, ie fps improvements, in game vsync modifications behind the scenes, view.lua modifications.
  21. I have vsync turned off in game and in nvidia settings. Always have.
  22. I played around with trackir settings and also with the view.lua values, and to some degree I could improve the smoothness but have given up for now and left everything default. I'm also used Peters neck mod, 1.2.5 and 1.2.6 versions and w no noticeable difference with the effect I'm seeing now. I noticed at the bottom of view.lua are gain values which I'm not sure if they were there before in 1.2.5(didn't have a backup to compare), but my hunch is that there might be new values in natural head movement that is causing smooth head movement to have a slight stutter. If I look forward and move head in yaw or pitch slowly there is some stepping in frames. Which feels like stutter, that's the best I can describe it. Maybe this is working against the trackir input or refining it. Only a tester I guess could ask the dev team for input here on how natural head movement has been changed.
  23. Meaning a head tracking bug in the 1.2.6 code?
  24. Have I missed something here, isn't the shoulder view the same as it was in 1.2.5? I should add I'm not seeing this when looking back towards the shoulder view. I'm seeing this stutter when looking 15-20 degrees each side of the HUD, this at the moment is where it is most noticeable.
  25. I have to disagree here somewhat Peter, something has been changed with 1.2.6, I'm seeing the same loss of smooth movement with trackir now compared to 1.2.5, it's not a bad thing just a slight nuisance. However I am very pleased that frame stutter seems to have been fixed when watching moving terrain down low  and my suspicions were that these are related. I have my trackir on smoothness 50, and I thought maybe somehow fps management or something vsync in game related was the cause of it, so I lowered smoothness to 30 and it is much better but still there. I don't know if this is coincidence, I do run through low frames of 28 to mid 50 and up. EDIT: aside from initial experience, tnite I'll try default trackir profile, and see what effect different curves, settings have.
