The landing characteristics now appear to be modeled around the proper landing procedure in RL with the F-15? Just watched a bunch of F-15J landing vids, and the procedure is almost mimicked. Any ED testers can confirm that this is the intention? Ie its really just a bug with nose gear damage model, collapse?

Feels like a bug yes if you dont manage the landing properly, but to be honest it's a challenge and rewarding when you get it right. Looking forward to it being improved.

Touch'n'Go Practice Well after 3 hours or practice; seems there is a finesse to landing. It feels like this is a flightmodel bug that is to be improved; if you don't let the aircraft cushion on landing you run the risk of breaking the gear very easily. Though this does feel like a bug; because you can get out of the bug by ensuring you're aero braking once the rear wheels touch. I found that the key is approach at 150-180 odd; then let the plane sink to touch down letting the nose raise up; and push forward stick so you dont smash the back end; 'Make sure the aircraft datum is 10degrees nose high' when the rear wheels touch down and your good, typically a good touch down will be at 130kts. Here's a track you guys can practice your Touch'n'Go's with. I've done 5 or so touch'n'go's here. Feel free to watch the replay and see my approach runs; plus enjoy some highspeed break turns :) Dont slam the nose, and practice aero braking. Enjoy!! :pilotfly: F-15C Toucn'n'Go.trk

Nice and cheap, looks similar to local ones here that are 3 times more expensive. Still trying to find some tactile buttons and caps for UFC and misc..

You could to a degree look at using a 'Whiz Wheel'. There a few online print outs you can get; or app's for Ipad/Android, etc.

I just noticed that sent messages no longer works? You can't see the reply messages or recent sent messages, as in it's not recorded or listed in the 'Sent Messages'. Is this feature disabled?

Helios Profile and Gauges Export for FC3
_Dredd replied to _Dredd's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Has anyone been able to get FC3 exports working yet? Kudos to ED for allowing the radar to be exported, but I'm so hoping gauges, etc can be exported also. Anyone? -
Hey guys, I'm curious if you could list your favourite suppliers or recommended sites where you've bought toggle switches and push buttons. I've been through many posts but hoping people could list links in this post away from simpit progress threads to keep it clean. I've been looking at aliexpress http://www.aliexpress.com/where you can buy bulk. Not exact milspec replica; but good value to get started on simpit building and having plenty of hardware. Where do you buy your bulk and single components from? Standard and Milspec.

Curious about that too; got the feeling there was some bounce in the landing model, then it just collapses through the runway I'm hoping, actually I'm praying and begging! a hotfix patch can be released to fix this :( Just spent a few good hours in the F-15C dogfighting against some Russian adversaries, absolutely love the new cockpit, sounds and flight model!! It's a real shame though I can't land without bellylanding, I tried low AOA and 10AOA landings, happened every time  Happened on Kobuleti and Senaki.

Ah, yes that clears it you're right(my tired brain not thinking). If you want to go Portrait , Landscape, Portrait; you'll need SoftTH for Bezel Management.
-
Unless you want three viewports for three screens instead of one that covers the three spanned, you should use SoftTH. Otherwise when using TrackIR, your view axis will be all screwy when panning. Plus you can't compensate for bezel margins. Unless I've missed something completely? Exports: here you go , this is better to look at: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/145724/

Just me or did the explosion from that rocket salvo look different to current effects?
-
Certainly is possible. Unfortunately I think theres alot of threads on the subject you'll need to search for, as there is no real one thread sticky on the process. Disable Nvidia surround(or you may be able to keep this scenario with an additional monitor screen)and start here on PeterP's thread. You'll need to start with learning the magic of SoftTH. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=71710&highlight=Multi+monitor Also check out MadTommy's on DCS MultiMonitor Support http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1022117&postcount=1 Then move on to exports. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=71831 Then move on to Helios when ready. Take your time to read things, then read over, then read again. It can seem confusing, but in the end it really is simple. Myself and others could probably set this up for you pretty quick, but I'm sure all would encourage you take a leap first and try configure this from your end first and foremost to ease explanations and questions you' ll have later. No hard feelings...

Colours, Bloom & Sun all messed up in multi-monitor set-up.
_Dredd replied to MadTommy's topic in Multi-Monitor Support
Anyone made any progress on this ? where the issue seems to reflect around 'center viewport = screen.width' ? http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1693233&postcount=2 I'd so love to get HDR Bloom and Sun Bloom working properly on my multi-monitor setup. -
Great mod, enjoying it so far. Especially looks great on TGP, where the ground appears to have depth in areas. I don't see much performance hit at all here, it seems to be stock trees in condensed areas that creates a slight hit, even with silders just under 8000. Question, are the links in the first post the most recent high res files?

R.I.P Sir, thank you for everything you've done to allow myself and many others to be priveleged to enjoy the best fighter simulations ever to the consumer. S!

GeForce 320.00 Beta Driver :) Anyone tried them out yet?

 Holy %#?!

Nice, you did well for the shutter speed.
-
Great shots! What gear and glass were you using to capture those?

Saw it last night, kinda drags on towards an end climax. Borrowed alot of plots from other movies. Enjoy! It's one of those movies that you can't explain without giving away the story. Special effects are pretty awesome, and I'm sure avid pilots will like the comandeering of Jack's jet. "Are you still an effective teeaam.". :smilewink: You'll get that once you see it.

TM WH loose throttle and stick
_Dredd replied to NhiTrac's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I find the lowest tension on the throttle is perfectly fine. Making quick throttle adjustments and walking the throttles is quite comfortable at lowest tension. also same here with flaps button slightly looser now and stick having some 2-3 mm play; but I hardly notice it. -
River landing sucessful. (there is a point to this)
_Dredd replied to LexiconG2's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I had thought that at present DCS World is still 32bit application coded but it's compatible with 64bit OS; and ie; still can only address 4GB memory space. Someone mentioned if you were running x64 then the download would install as 64bit version; but I'm unsure whether it's a true 64bit application as yet. Ive noticed game crashes where DCS was at the 4GB memory limit; so maybe someone can check the truth in being true 64bit compatible version at present; or just being 32bit compatible 64bit application. If that make sense? Curious if anyone has actually monitored task manager processes to see what maximum memory DCS actually gets too. -
Srry point noticed. I went through and re-read all posts again. Heres a theory and have a read its quite interesting, and you'll find similar articles on google on particle effects. As its was pointed out with smoke and fire for crashed planes etc, perhaps indeed what there is, is a particle effects code bug with 1.2.4? Memeory issues and polygon count extremities. But its not acknowledged as yet. Check it out http://wiki.yoyogames.com/index.php/Beginners_Guide_To_Particles http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/131565/building_an_advanced_particle_.php?print=1
