Missed that report, good to know. Thanks

I've had this freezing bug in the F-15C four times now but haven't been able to test further to find where/why it is exactly happening. It seems to be the same that was reported here some time ago when I searched through the forums http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1070577&highlight=Ils+mode+freeze#post1070577 I'll test more this week/weekend to try pinpoint when it's occurring. So far on a test dogfight mission I have when cycling through ILS points then cycle to nav, tacan, ILS near Batumi the game freezes but sounds continue. On one occasion the freeze stopped and game resumed after approx 15 secs, but other times it has just stayed frozen, and I have to Ctrl alt del to end the process. When I do from memory it appears there was a second dcs window open that I see occur when the game loads but screen height.width resolution conflict exists. I am using a hotas hatswitch on the stick with a modifier button on hotas throttle as waypoint cycle function. I'll test with keyboard commands next time. Edit: possibly related to this? I do have incomplete routes set for AI, only one fly to waypoint. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=938829&postcount=13

Went through some of this testing tonight :joystick:; and have found that its best for me to leave fps unlocked and Vsync Off to get the best benefit when frames aren't impacted so fps is 60 or higher. I'm quite happy now, and may very well look at getting a second Titan to SLI. This should give me a 20% boost to keep frames at 60. With attached settings(screenshot) is on triple monitors(plus a 4th for Helios) at @ 6696x1920 I so far saw the worst fps at 39-41fps when low, and the best at 130fps(map screen). Avg flight with good fps in A10C was 57-62, and F-15C 61-81. Interested thing to note was MSAA didn't impact much at all :) Grass had a huge impact when above 0m, frames drops to 31 when zoomed in close to vehicles. Another Rep your way when it's avail to add. :D

You can grab a power consumption meter for $20? so you can see at the wall what your system is eating under load.
-
Not unless you hit max load. http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page2679.htm
-
Eh? So back it up, give me something to agree on. Edit: ok, sorry its late and I read this too quick. 80 plus is based on effiency. I didn't dispute that fact? Single rails, multi rails, .. Max load, more compenents, more power. So more is better for future proofing no? If yo uhave the highest efficiency you still win with less heat and power costs, unless of course if your eating it all up.
-
Guess it depends on your rails and total load. You can always grab a power meter between the mains and power lead to measure what load your hitting. Then again for cost of measuring, it could have gone towards few hundred more watts in power :)

Doesn't look that good. Save a few hundred bucks more and you can get a 3930k.

Seems it was just met me not keeping my eye on the ball. I found it reliiable at 150-130 touch down at 10-13 units AOA. 15 units and your darn close or pretty much striking the tail. Couple of times I was careless and the whole plane sunk halfway through the runway, so apart from needing to stay with a consistent landing profile, the script seems to have to tight parameters to collapse and crash the gear. Let it be, but I hope they improve on this soon, rather than having to wait months for a fix. It's a pity as others have reported that its been this way for quite some time being a release version. Units and pitch degrees don't seem it be rated indepedently. The AOA guage with the 22 units marker, there's no way that can be used, you'd smash the tail on that profile. Correct me if I'm wrong on that note... Edit: I see its already been raised here, http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=97755 Would be nice if that could be fixed to be true to the description and operation. Edit2: I see this has always been the case. I just didn't pay enough attention to my gauges in the past :/
-
Any news on improving this one? I made a few successful landings and then repeatedly others I failed every time trying different profiles. I can even sometimes force it out of the collapse where it seems to collapse then recover twice to get out of the crash. Seems if you hold the nose up when wheels touch down, the model either renowned the sweet spot or with recover it keeps running the script to get it then does. Maybe I'm just going insane on this one...

Reworked Cockpit Views with proper Neck
_Dredd replied to PeterP's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Great work on this mod Peter! I've just customised my F-15 and A-10C views and they work perfect. I was able to slightly cheat by using TrackIR and pausing/unpausing, and saving the view to customise it how I wanted. Thanks for your hard work on this one. -
With a 50-55" TV do you mean? I just read your other thread with SLI benefits so now the wallet is going to be burning. Decisions, decisions...
-
Nice post, thanks for the testing write up. You've got me interested in SLI with Titans now. Though my only question now is the performance increase on multi-monitors. Don't suppose you run multi-monitors as yet? Is there anyone out tree with SLI cards that can add to this for any benefit gains?
-
I'm running 4 monitors, so unfortunately I'm bound to locking at 30 to keep it smooth. Otherwise with the odd fps hits; frames jump from 30-43 fps; and that causes some annoying stutter with the frame rate jumps below 60. Thinking of going back to single screen on a 50" TV; Life-like size view.. mmm, and get some frames back!
-
Ditto! I just unparked the cores and turned off HT, I actually gained 8fps or so with my setup. But I lock it at 30fps, and it doesn't stutter anywhere near as much as it did before. Haha! Can't believe I hadn't heard of this before. Rep inbound.

Hey Dusty, Here also you can see the last two after landings I got sloppy. and the plane warped through the runway on landing but recovered. aborted_gearcollapse_landing.trk

This is a bugger for me also using multi-monitors.. So we really need the bloom flare effects binded to the sun using the centre viewport x, y, and/or if left, right center viewport tags used, use the total resolution size in the monitor.lua config files rather than using the options lua total screen dimension size. Be really nice if this could be impemented. I wondered Peter if you have this working for you now, how are you centering your cockpit view on your center monitor, rather than the centered view overlaping monitors with the total resolution? I can only think one way around that is editing the snapviews to raise the view to be centered on the center monitor, or forcing SoftTh to render -y values to raise the view. If using exports you need 4 monitors in T-configuration rather than all aligned side-by-side horizontally where center view would be centered incorrectly across all four. The former using more pixel rendering than the other. :( Sry if this is the wrong thread, pretty much relates to your Plea for View Export/M thread.

Can't wait to see it. :) Would absolutely love if you'd allow ED to use this across the board, though all modules would need to be updated.
-
That Sir is AWESOME! ED I hope you are watching this thread, this is a must ! Puhleeeease.:joystick::pilotfly:

Immersion wise yeah; you could tell if a wingman is heads down at gauges; or looking up. Even use head-nods for signal checks; takeoff formation signals, etc :)
-
Not sure if this was mentioned in the past(I'm sure it might have been). I would love to see animation in the pilots head in the up/down axis; as well as the current left/right.

What over clock is you're CPU running?
_Dredd replied to TimeKilla's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
3930k @ 4.6Ghz. Idle at 43, load at 58. -
Yeah thats sounds right from when I was quick scanning the gauges. Been a long time since I flew the F-15; last stints were FC2. I likey what I see with FC3 so far. :)
