F15C 'Weapon Ready' lights now yellow??
winchesterdelta1 replied to SW0RDF15H's topic in F-15C for DCS World
Game mode setting. -
There are some addons that change the map textures and everything looks beautiful on that.. And i think back in the day's you also could change some settings to make it look more blue and such. And om my YouTube video's the colors are really bad cause i run on medium to low quality. So it also depends on your graphics quality settings overall.

Very very cool. :) A very refreshing and unique thing to do. -
Had the same in SU-27 yesterday.. But my speed was over 350. So probably my own fault.

104th Phoenix Dedicated Server Info
winchesterdelta1 replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in Multiplayer
Sweeper.. Are you not flying anymore? I miss being wiped out by a F-15 coming from no where. -
Have had the same issue in multiplayer. But i adapted so don't have it any more if a pay attention to it. Happened to me after the latest 1.5 update. Armament: Full load 6 AIM120C, 1 AIM-9, 1 AIM-7 Fuel load: Full internal fuel with 2 external tanks Take off speed when this happens: Around 200 to 250 (not always) > Also happened once on 150 when i tried to pull up to soon. (maybe the weight was longer on the wheels) Nose position on take off: Was higher then 10 degrees. Or when i pulled up faster then normal. On landing i had no tires blown at all yet. I land around 150 knots. It was always the right tire that blew up. Not any of the others.

Probably yes... reading and understanding things at the same time is very difficult for you it seems. You just take what you want from it and that's it. But what was i thinking trying to explain my point and show different views. Nobody wants to really understand things these day's anyway.
-
You didn't listen to anything i said did you. That is what you get out of all of it? Because i defend markers? Sorry but that is very narrow minded. And endless amount??? Maybe if you count the servers with 1 or 2 or even 0 players in it. Sorry to burst your bubble but there is not much MP gameplay at all. Only several servers where you can play with a good amount of players.
-
LoL you don't have any clue what is better for me to play. Most of the concept of blueflag i once already typed out in a concept here on the forums. I have no affiliation with blueflag at all and i don't know if they got any of their idea's for blueflag from my post. But i was dam close with my concept. You know why i thought out that concept. Cause i wanted more then air quake. And i actually bought Lock on under the impression that every sim that day probably would have a semi realistic dynamic campaign. So while waiting i made up a concept like this to Cather more to the Multiplayer and future capability's of Lock On now DCS World. Because i enjoy air quake doesn't mean i don't love more realistic gameplay. For some reason a lot of people think you can only like one thing. I am just patiently waiting for a dynamic campaign or a semi dynamic campaign that uses most assets in DCS world. It's a good thing Bluelfag came around. Also it say's more about you, knowing that you can do all those things on the 16AGR server. I didn't even know they had a server. I always play on servers with 99% of the realistic settings. I'm even hesitant to go fly on the open conflict once or twice a month with friends. And even then i don't use team speak or even the map half the time. And what is this silly thought that map markers and plane marker for only yourself will make the gameplay deteriorate?? You are so afraid your precious blueflag gets corrupted. But it's still a hard ass flight sim to learn, and with enough dynamic events and objectives and a cause you will keep most players engaged and play properly for most of the time. Being popular is good. Form there we can make super hardcore servers for only squadrons or super serious groups. Right now we need something that is just in between. And i think blueflag at the moment hit the nail on the head. it only needs for DCS world to mature to become even bigger. Unlike you i don't see a game mode where only i can play with my hardcore buddy's. My concept is even a bit more ambitious but less plausible for the state DCS is in now. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=121804

I try to explain why it's ok. Right now the MP is not that great in DCS. Siming is not as popular as back in the day's. And we are all scattered between sim's right now. A lot of people even still play older simm's because of better gameplay. And they love realism. But in DCS the MP gameplay is very poor. We need something that caters for beginners but also pro's. Hard enough for beginners to weed out the not so dedicated but keep the interest of the bit more casual and slow starters. And hard enough for very dedicated pilots so they won't lose interest but still won't be bothered to much by super noobs asking how to start the engines and such. I think BF can be such a game mode. And the thing is it's relatively easy to edit the game mode and have more servers with mixed realistic and less realistic game modes. But we have to work to that first, gain some momentum get the hype around that siming can be fun and not extremely hard to get in. With the upcoming world updates and planes more and more people will get interest in this game. Lets (buddyspike) bring them something worthy to play. Something that catches their interest and has just the right helpers to keep the learning curve smooth, something with a cause, but enough realism or the availability to that realism to push your skills to the end. Because there are map markers doesn't mean you have to use it. These elite pilots that really want and can use the available navigation systems should not even have the need to use the F10 map. They can all do it on instruments, knee pad and CGI.
-
You didn't notice? And i also de-esclated some arguments because of this (people not being listened to. Or total misunderstandings. And it's also because it's way to busy to all talk and get a response from the GCI. These markers for objectives and your own plane only declutter the more important messages from the less important messages (you can argue that they are both important. But i rather have the CGI talking to me when i'm under attack then answering a guy's vector to homeplate or objective call. And i'm not even playing extremely much. There where no extremes.. Only observations.

And half of the people that say they can communicate or communicate properly only do that to their friend or group or only atfer a couple months when they finally gained their respect with them. And half of the same people can not take any criticism in flight or de-escalte situations in comms. They just choose the side of their friend wrong or right. Maybe people should start by them self for more realism. But i have to say that there a re still a lot of people in this community that do a great job communicating with the new or "NOT SO SMART" sim lovers. But with a sim like this we need to step up a bit more. Cause in many cases somebody asks something and everybody is afraid to answer. So those tools are a great help for them and for you even if you don't use it and realize it.
-
I myself do all those things you just mentioned. But i'm also the one that is ready to help people whenever they ask. 90% of the elite pilots just ignore those guy's; cause pffff they should just know what to do. And then complain to those people on here that they don't know what to do and that the team work is poor. Or that they ask to many stupid questions. And now we have simple radio i already see groups just jump on that and totally ignore all the other player's... Now that is amazing realism there. Just exclude a ton of deadly assets that can be a great help. Even if they are them self not sure how to play blueflag most of them can still fight. You cater to these guy's and you will cater for your own amazing experience as well. Off course don't go overboard with it cause we still want a immersive and semi realistic experience.
-
Blueflag is whats bringing more and more people to DCS and try multiplayer. Because of it being dynamic, because you can make progress and because of the team work. And team work can still be improved on. These map markers and plane icon help a lot with it without having to be a pro in navigation from the get go. Easy to understand gameplay and the low threshold to jump in makes people makes a lot of people try it and fall in love. After that we send them to you to learn proper precision navigation QuiGon and hope the ones that only fly a couple hours a month remember it next month without asking another zillion questions on how to do this again.
-
Thank you sir. Finally somebody that not only things about himself. But also the team work. And those tools actually help a shit ton with team work and get things organized. It also causes less complains and stupid questions from new players. And it caters to the fact that people also just want to jump in and help their friend. Instead of reading and studying numerous pages of intel or playing Blueflag every day, day in and day out. They now can quickly see what to do... CAP here, SAM zone here, attack this. Instead of bothering other people with questions about the entire situation you now can actually support your friends and team form the get go. Even if you are a lone wolf. It has nothing to do with cheating, game mode, or unrealisticnes. It has all to do with the flow of battle, gameplay and team work without jumping to extreme's like game mode or prepare a 15 day campaign where only the elite can follow the plan to the Millie second and have their bombs dropped in time.
-
Markers and aircraft icon for yourself are brilliant. Gives much more SA about objectives and gives less confusion overall. Now it's more easy to plan attacks with larger groups. And team work increases 10 fold. And even the players that are not so experienced now now what is going on. it adds to the realism because in real life you have constant updates. And a map / knee board full of markers. Gameplay is way better now Maybe to satisfy your extreme "realism" fetish we should let everybody that wants to enter the Blueflag server do a Navigation course and prepare a personal and squadron map with all objectives, markers and notes. Add some satellite pictures And have a team that plans the entire campaign from day 1. Now that is realism. it seems to me you are just mad that you learned all this navigation and real life procedures, but others can now hop in and navigate to the target area with almost the same ease as you. And that they know exactly where to go and what's going on when entering the server. These map markers makes the gameplay better, increases team work, simulates more prepared pilots. And lets even the noobs have great fun. Instead of people whining that the noobs don't know what is going on and that they don't follow instructions. If you don't want this i say you prepare and plan a entire campaign with INTEL reports, Navigation cards, predictions of enemy and friendly routes and every time you start a mission you prepare for a couple day's.

I heard server is down since yesterday. -
Ragnarok is busy putting up some vids on how to defeat missiles. He put up some nice TACVIEW video's. These are just the basics. But shows with good clearance what to do. Check his channel for more of this.
-
You have to start defeating the missile or make it harder for the missile to reach you before it's shot. Crank the bandit (s). So put them in your radar gimbal limits on your left and right. Check their closing speed. If it's very high and yours as well. You can fire early. Crank in and fire. Every missile that is being fired at you now fly's in a curved path so travels more distance. On putbill start defending missile and break lock with the enemy. Before the attack position yourself in such a way there is always a way out. A hill, your speed, a friendly plane, friendly SAM, etc etc. Half of the defending work is done before the missiles are fired. It will make your later maneuvers to try and trash the missiles a bit more easy. * If the launch platform is traveling at high speed the missile will reach you extremely fast. If the launch aircraft speed is to high M1.6+ and it fires a missile form close in(12- miles) you can use this to your advantage. Every move you do now is being done in excess on the missile. Very easy to trash super fast missiles. * If the launch aircraft is launching from below Mach 1 you have mostly plenty of time to come in fire your missile from 10/8 miles do a full break turn and run away. * If you are flying the F-15 or any other plane that can ID type of aircraft always check what plane you are fighting. Many times i have eaten a totally unnecessary R-77 hit because i was defending for ER. * Use all this info with above comments. Disclaimer: I'm not really good in explaining this stuff. I bet others can do better.

I notice myself that i always fly with 100% engine power in the 27. And i also notice it's not even needed most of the time. It's a habit from the F-15 i can not simply get rid of. I try to change this for a long time now. But i keep going back to 100%.

Rreally new to FC3 - 1st basic, basic question

Controls are almost the same. If you are good in the F-15 you can be okay in the SU-33 straight away, control wise. Tactic wise it's a different story. -

I did some searching for you. This was the first hit. Youtube channel is from Teach Yourself DCS. He also shows the keybinds in there. If you want to change those key binds go to the control settings. Choose F-15 and press the same key binds as you learned from the video. This will bring you straight to the correct place where you can change that said key bind. The most important F-15 guide to read is the DCS Combat guide for beginners: http://www.mudspike.com/dcs-f-15c-combat-guide-for-beginners/ How to START UP AND TAKE OFF right away for instant fun and crazy maneuvers (if you don't want to read the manual): F-15 Navigation (Really old Flaming Cliffs Official Eagle Dynamics tutorial video): From take off to using the radar: How to land: And you feel comfortable enough to take on another challenge. And you know how the radar works. You can go to this guy's channel: Playlist: And if you feel really brave try some Air to Air refueling: If you don't know how to do something somebody said in the video google it or youtube it. Use search things like this "FC3 F-15C how to put put the gear up". To search on the ED forums i also use google. Just search for "ED forum F-15c missile evasion". Also disclaimer.. The missiles need a lot of work. And the SU-27 wings break of (for a good reason). If you get to this point and you are curious why, don't jump to conclusions and start asking those questions on the forum. They have been discussed to dead. Almost everything has been discussed to dead here. So if you wanne know something, don't understand something, or think something is not realistic search for it first and read the post before asking a question. You will be reading a shit load. If you want to fly online. Some nice reminders: After you read understand and are comfortable with most of this you can take the ultimate step and go learn how to fly one of the full fledged modules with interactive cockpit. Flaming Cliffs 3 planes are just super sweet starters. Below you can find the Mirage manual for a full DCS experience. Manual is a bit bigger then the F-15 :) :) https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-uSpZROuEd3WnVhcm5hTUJOTjg/view If you need some inspiration: Any questions. Feel free to come back. -
