104th Phoenix Dedicated Server Info
winchesterdelta1 replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in Multiplayer
Server is down. -
Hmm i must be deaf cause i don't hear any explosion or big bang. I just hear something like a slight glounk (lol i know... How the hell to describe that sound in English?). Maybe it's the audio settings that causes it to hear like a big bang/explosion. Can you try that to see if the sound is more natural "that way"?

Thank god there is no match making or some other form of player balance mechanic. I would throw this "game" right out of the window. Also what kind of F-15 do you use that can shoot people from 40 miles? I would like to have that one. And also... the FC3 people made it possible for you to have Full blown Modules. And you might need some practice and fly with a buddy if you can not destroy F-15's with MIG-29's, SU's or Mirages. Plenty of times F-15 pilots like me get decimated by those planes.

I am on the server almost every day.. And guess what. I have tons of fun playing with other people as a team. And the fun part is because most people fly in groups now others are also forced to do the same. Otherwise they will be decimated... And guess what. Now we mostly fight groups of public pilots instead of individuals. And that all because of a simple application called team speak. We fly with F-15's Flankers, MIG's, Mirages... You name it. And almost every flight is a thrill. Also we already have that 15 minutes built in wait... If you die you have to startup, taxi and fly to the target area. Or if you want to do it properly you go the long way around to flank them. So on every flight you do you ave the thrill of not wanting to die. And nothing is more satisfying then returning back to base.... That takes another shitload of time to land, refuel and rearm. The only things needed to make this game more fun is planning tools, a way to draw on the map and knee-boards for yourself, proper ATC and build in GCI and ACMI instead of external tools. Bigger maps and human AWACS and proper AAR would be a must as well. We don't need artificial things like 15 minutes respawn timer, more XP because you destroyed your target and other artificial insentives to behave a certain way. You should force yourself to behave a certain way YOU want. So if you like to fly as a team but you can not stand a annoying WinchesterDelta, you find other people to fly around with. How many times i have seen people on her asking for more team work and more immersion.. But then they come onto Team Speak and don't say a word. Or leave because they getting annoyed by all this talking. Beacuse the people playing don't fit their playing style. Maybe it's time for people to adapt a bit more and be a bit more creative to get the gameplay they want. But i only see is people that want a game that forces them to behave a certain way... If you give them the freedom to do all they want they suddenly find the game boring cause now they suddenly have to think for them self and find the right people them self. This is no game that holds your hand. This game gives you freedom to do almost everything you want... But it also gives you the freedom the be bored as F*** if you lack creativity and are afraid to talk to other people or even get annoyed by the slightest fart from other people. A lot need to be improved int his game... Including the players them self. I would rather not see artificial BS because people are not creative and talkative enough to make fun them self. And even if there are people that create fun scenario's for them like BLUEFLAG they complain and complain. Maybe we all should start looking at our self first. Cause that needs some improvement as well.

LoL what... Even smaller maps? That would even end up quicker in Air Quake then Air quake itself. We need bigger maps so we can have AWACS, AAR, Integrated air defense, multiple EWR sites, transports and ground force movements. And a way to plan your missions in detail in-game Now that is my definition of fun.

We talking about long range (MAX) shots aren't we. 10nm are not long range at least from my understanding.
-
With ignoring i don't mean fly in a straight line. And R-77 long range shot are even more easy to dodge then AIM-120C. Crank the long range shot and it's gone. And also if i see MIG-29 on RADAR ID i expect R-77 anyway.
-
It's going down hill with me... I actually understood. Am i some kind of high tech cave man now that can decipher moving paintings on a PC screen.
-
Shooting at max range gives a important thing away that can bring you in a disadvantage. You show your opponent that you are not confident. That you try to make him scared so you hope he reacts on that early (at least in DCS). You gave away your intention early so he has longer time to think about what his next move should be. Better to wait with that warning shot till you are a bit closer so he has no choice to react. Even that it's still a low Pk shot. It's hard to find that fine line fighting against a AIM-120C platform. But with flying in a two ship you can actually turn this into a advantage.

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 8
winchesterdelta1 replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
It does solve a small problem. This happens in all servers. It's not only a blueforce issue. Blue=West, RED=Russia. This happens unconsciously and by choice. And not only in computer games. It even has been studied that people are like this. And in games like DCS this especially comes forward. You can still have a Soviet coalition or a NATO. But at the moment you change the color from Red to green or any other color people seems to be okay with it and the biased ones mostly don't care anymore on witch side they play suddenly. Then they only choose for aircraft choice or friends playing on a certain side. We only need a simple option in DCS to choose colors to avoid this kind of silly behaviour in a virtual playing field. AND NO IT's NOT A BIG DEAL OR SOMETHING. IT'S JUST SOMETHING WORTH TO LOOK AT. The devil is in the details. and with simple minor changes like this you can steer a crowd to a certain direction. Governments are doing this for ages. Only the other way around to make people polarized. -

This is actually a thing. And more people then you think do this. How many times i have asked to balance the teams and somebody just plainly refuses because it's red side or blue side!!!!!!! Even a lot of veterans. I call it color bias. It shows a lot on how people think. :helpsmilie: I even put up a request for it to ED once somewhere. It's kind of a silly thing to ask, but it's totally necessary. -
Yes it's very hard to detect AIM-9 shots. So why not do pre-emptive flares after knowing this information? Within 4 miles defend for AIM-9. Even when you don't see it. Cut back on the throttle. Dispense flares and make a hard turn. Not to hard cause you need that speed because you are merged with him after this. And prepare for second shot So if you have difficulties holding your speed, start the engagement with a higher speed so you have some room to bleed some.

Okay.. But there are two closer airfields if i'm correct. They are both maxed out? Not that it's a huge problem. Flying the F-5 is the main thing... It's more about the experience anyway. Kills are hard to get with this thing. I'm happy i already got 4 kills and one of them a guns kill on F-15. That made it all worth the money :) -

Why is that in Operation Norther Light the F-5's spawn all the way at Mozdok? If it's because of the air to ground? Please assign some of them to another airfield a bit closer to Bulls. We already have a disadvantage in range and speed. Also on the opposite side it's kind of far. -
Use SU-27 tactics, The tactics they do to engage a AMRAAM platform.
-
Yup.. it was probably a F-15 with his radar of behind the SU-27. Flanker pilots sometimes ask you to turn the radar off so they can have better SA on their RWR. So you probably only seen 1 radar contact but only the other plane was emitting.
-
Yes not everybody has this issue. So probably it's not being seen as a big issue. Or it's just really hard to duplicate. The weird thing is some low end systems don't have this. While some high end systems don't. And visa versa. At least in the F-15 TWS bug. (Sorry i'm hijacking. But it seems to be related.)
-
So now the TWS bug became a regular radar bug?? Cause this is what we are living with for several months now in the F-15. Only in the F-15 it only happens in TWS FOR NOW!.

Ok the real fix is HOLD TAB. -
Chat screen does not want to close.
winchesterdelta1 replied to winchesterdelta1's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
Ok i found the fix. You have to go to side chat twice before you can exit the chat. Or double tab it. -
Chat screen does not want to close.
winchesterdelta1 replied to winchesterdelta1's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
Ok it fixed itself. But after re-pawn it was stuck again????????? -
I was flying today in MP and i killed myself. After that i started a chat. But when i wanted to close it i could not. Preventing me to re-spawn. I had to force closing the game before. Another guy had the same.
-
Also.. If i survive 5 flights just land and refuel and go again it won't happen. Even after 4 hours of flight with no re-spawns (Yes first time ever i survived this long :) ). Only after some re-spawns. I should count it. If i survive for the entire game it will not occur. So i think we can see with great certainty there are some key variables. 1. Amount of players 2. Amount of re-spawns 3. Amount of time. 4. Happens with low end and high end systems. RAM is not the culprit. 5. Only way to fix it is to restart the game. If you log out and back in TWS bug is back instantly.
